There are hundreds of games on sale, although perhaps not as many ‘big names’ as hoped for. In North America, the Cyber Deals end on December 3rd, whereas in Europe and other regions, the Black Friday Sale ends slightly earlier on November 30th. Here is our selection of games, which received our highest rating, our golden ‘Two Thumbs Up’.

Boxville 2 is a delight from start to finish. The hand-drawn graphics are beautiful, and although a couple of the puzzles are frustrating, most give that satisfactory ‘yes’ when solved.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
The JRPG is back with a new host of heroes.

It won’t take long to fall in love with Nowa and his initial teammates on the Watch, and the bittersweet story beats come achingly fast in the first act of the game. Those who played the prologue game, Eiyuden Chronicles Rising, won’t have to wait long to meet some familiar faces and learn the answers to some of the questions left hanging there. From there, the journey is a comfortably familiar but emotional one, where power-hungry villains separate friends and family under the banner of a war that threatens to grow out of control.
It’s a beefy game, too, with backers who already got their copy claiming that they’re clocking 60 hours on a fast-paced playthrough, and I’m suggesting that around 80 is going to be a fair hour count for most players. Chock full of stuff to do, things to explore, and characters to meet and collect; for some of us, this is the game we wanted when we were teens and still enjoying our last free summers. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a fantastic JRPG, wearing its old-school quirks like a badge of pride, with even its deliberate annoyances feeling like a wool flannel shirt. I can safely say it’s a terrific game and one its backers will welcome home with delight.

It Takes Two took top spot when James reviewed it
If you have someone else to play with I can not recommend this game enough. Heck this is a game I would go as far as to say it’s worth getting a console or PC for. The game pushes video games forward in the right direction and it’s a darn shame others haven’t taken note of this. A wholesome co-op experience that is guaranteed to entertain.
No DLC, no microtransactions, no exp, no bugs and utter gaming rubbish we so often see in games these days, just a good video game.
It Takes Two is not just one of the best games I’ve played this year. It’s one of the best video game experiences I have ever had, period.
This has been on offer in the US for slightly less ($15.99), but that was 12 months ago.

Locomoto
Locomoto is a cosy, life-sim adventure train game where you are the conductor!
James went all aboard for Locomoto
Locomoto is a delightful and gentle ride that provides the perfect balance of interaction and relaxation. Even as someone who doesn’t typically click with games like Animal Crossing, I found myself charmed by its heart and simplicity. There’s always something to do, but never any pressure to do it quickly. It’s a game that welcomes you warmly, lets you set the pace, and quietly celebrates every small accomplishment.
And the best part? My little boy adores it. Of all the train-themed games I reviewed this month, this was the one that completely won him over, and that dual thumbs up means more than any score I could give.

With rebalanced difficulty, a modernized inventory, zippier combat, cleaned-up visuals, and the meat of these classic stories otherwise untouched, this is a brilliant example of how to bring back the biggest moments of gaming history without wrecking the shop.
With the best two games in the Lunar saga now more accessible than ever, it’s a no-brainer of a choice for RPG fans who love the straightforward simplicity of our older turn-based games. For players used to the fancy options of modern RPGs like Avowed and Dragon Age, the Lunar Remastered Collection may feel too much like a step back. But if you love a good story, it’s still worth the time and investment to see why the genre still thrives, even in the shadow of glitzy triple-A action games.

It is obvious from playing Röki that developers Polygon Treehouse want you to enjoy the puzzles and adventuring gameplay. However, it’s done in such a way as not to distract you from the story.
A story is full of Scandinavian folklore intertwined with a tale of a broken family being held together by Tove’s determination, courage and spirit. All of which transforms the experience into something lasting and memorable for the player.

Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town

Truly, I hadn’t expected to like Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town as much as I do. I was never a big fan of the little boy when my daughter wanted to watch the anime many years ago, so I was a bit sceptical. But I have really warmed up to him, even though he is still a strange little boy.
The game is full of details, little adventures and bigger mysteries. Some of the interactions made me smile, and I was never left frustrated or in a rush. I took my time uncovering it all, and it was a grand journey. This is a serious contender for my Game of the Year 2024!
Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town is not for gamers who want to be bowled over by fast-paced action or striving for bigger and better goals. Instead, this is a game to curl up with on the couch and see Shin chan’s world with a kind of childlike wonder.
