Did you know that LadiesGamers has a Steam Curator page? Click the Steam button on the menu on the right of the home page, or alternatively click here and it will take you to our curator page. We often receive review codes through the Steam page, and Papertris is one such game, a puzzle game. Paper-Games, a solo developer with the help of his four-year-old and two-year-old sons, developed Papertris.

Puzzle Game
Papertris is a puzzle game similar to Tetris, though after playing the game for a while, I can also see similarities with Puyo Puyo. In Papertris, the game requires players to strategically rotate, move, and drop a procession of blocks falling from the top of the board and match the same coloured block at the bottom to remove them. With the goal being to clear the board or not let the blocks reach the top.
Players attempt to clear as many same coloured blocks as possible by completing horizontal rows without any space between the block. So it’s similar to match-three but with falling blocks, as you have to match the colours of the blocks.

Combos
Levels have different requirements for completion, such as destroying 50 blocks or destroying 20 of a particular colour of blocks. There are also timed levels where you have to eliminate 100 blocks under a specific time limit.
Combos can be created, and by doing so you increase your score for that level. You have to be extra careful where you place your blocks and watch out for the other blocks falling as they may land in the wrong spot.

Different Game Modes
As well as a single-player game which consists of a single-player Challenge mode and Endless mode. There is also a two-player mode. You can choose to play two-player in Versus mode or Endless versus modes with a split-screen view.
Unfortunately, being the only gamer in the household I didn’t have the chance to try out the two-player modes, but after playing the single-player I imagine the two-player mode would be a lot of fun playing against another person. The challenge in the game seems to be set at a decent level, it is not too hard nor is it too easy, just a pleasant game to play.

Controller or Keyboard
The game can be played either by a controller, by using the keyboard and mouse controls. I tried both control systems, and they both worked as they should.
While you are playing Papertris you can listen to ten music tracks that are in the game. They range from jazzy tunes to more relaxing music. Track number six is my favourite; it is a lovely relaxed track to play a game to. I really like the fact the developer has put some thought into the music, so it is not just the same old music you hear over and over again as you play the game.

Conclusion – Fun For All Ages
Papertris is an enjoyable puzzle game. Suitable for all ages, even younger members of the family would enjoy the game playing together. The developer states on the games Steam page that his two little son’s helped with the artwork for Papertris. I have to say that the boys did an excellent job of the artwork for the game, it is bright and colourful, much like a child’s painting. You can check out the Steam page and download a free demo of the game that is available at the moment.
Final Verdict: I Like it
