Parking Garage Rally Circuit – European Tour DLC – A Rally Game With A Very Odd Venue
Parking Garage Rally Circuit is one of those games that feels like it slipped straight out of the late 90s. The entire experience is designed as a tribute to the era of the Sega Saturn, when arcade-style racing games focused on tight controls, simple mechanics and quick bursts of action.
Instead of racing across countryside tracks or city streets, this game takes place almost entirely inside multi-storey parking garages. It sounds like an odd idea at first, but it works far better than you might expect.
The European Tour DLC expands the original game with eight additional parking garages based on real locations across Europe, including cities such as Paris, York, Turin and Hamburg. Alongside the original American tracks from the base game, it essentially doubles the number of environments available.
Because of that, this review ends up being partly about the DLC but also about the game itself. If you’ve never played Parking Garage Rally Circuit before, this is still a good moment to jump in.

Quick Racing
Before hitting the track, the game lets you customise your car. It’s surprisingly flexible for such a small racing title. You can choose paint colours, adjust patterns and even select the number displayed on the vehicle. It’s not an extensively detailed system, but it’s a fun way to personalise your ride before racing.
Once you’re done experimenting with colours and designs, it’s time to get moving. Races are structured a bit like classic rally stages mixed with circuit racing. You’ll drive through checkpoints while completing multiple laps around the same track.
Each parking garage has its own layout, and while the setting might sound repetitive on paper, the tracks are actually quite varied. Some twist tightly around pillars and ramps, while others briefly spill out into surrounding areas before sending you back inside the structure.
You’re racing against the clock rather than competing directly against other cars, but ghost racers represent the bronze, silver and gold target times. They give you a clear idea of how fast you need to drive if you want to improve your result. If you repeat a track, the game also shows a ghost of your previous best run, which makes it easy to chase your own record. Thanks, and possible correction of past mistakes.

Sweet Drifting
Driving in Parking Garage Rally Circuit feels intentionally simple, in a good way. You accelerate, steer, brake and drift. That’s about it. The controls are easy to understand within seconds, which fits the arcade-style design. The drifting mechanic is the highlight. Holding the drift button lets your car slide through corners, and if you hold it long enough, the tyres begin to glow before giving you a speed boost when you release.
I’ll admit that drifting in racing games isn’t always my favourite mechanic, but here it feels much easier to handle. Even if you’re not particularly skilled at it, sliding around tight parking garage corners still feels satisfying. The game keeps the action moving quickly as well. Tracks are short and snappy, making it easy to jump in for a quick race or five.

European Garages Raise The Challenge
While the base game offers a fairly approachable difficulty level, the European Tour DLC feels noticeably tougher. In order to unlock the next track, you need to earn at least a bronze trophy in the current race. With the original tracks, this felt quite achievable, but the European courses demand tighter driving and better times.
That means you’ll probably find yourself replaying races several times before progressing. For players who enjoy improving their racing lines and chasing faster times, this extra challenge will likely be welcome. For more casual players, though, it might feel a bit restrictive. Personally, I would have preferred if simply finishing the race once unlocked the next track, while medals could remain as optional goals for dedicated players.
If multiplayer is your preference, you have the option to take the race online or play locally in split-screen. But should you not want to embarrass yourself online you can just compete with leaderboards too.

Retro Style
Visually, the game leans fully into its retro inspiration. Everything is built with low-poly models, chunky textures and a slightly rough look that feels very reminiscent of late 90s consoles. If you grew up with that era of games, the style will probably feel very familiar.
Despite the simple visuals, there are some nice touches. Tyre skid marks remain visible on the ground even after several laps, which adds a bit of personality to each race. Certain objects can also be knocked around or destroyed, giving the tracks a bit more life. Occasionally, the courses even throw in unexpected hazards. Something might fall onto the track or appear suddenly in your path, forcing you to react quickly.
The DLC also introduces a brand new soundtrack from The Holophonics, adding a lively ska-inspired energy to the races, and it’s great once again, tickling the 90s nostalgia vibes.

Conclusion: Burnin Rubber
Parking Garage Rally Circuit – European Tour DLC is a solid expansion to an already enjoyable retro racer. The eight new European tracks add plenty of additional racing, and the new soundtrack gives the game a fresh bit of personality. It’s a fairly small addition in terms of price, but it doubles the number of garages available, which is a good deal for fans of the base game.
The only real drawback is the increased difficulty when trying to unlock new tracks and cars. Needing to earn a bronze medal each time can make progression feel a little slower than it needs to be.
Even so, the core gameplay remains fast, simple and fun. The drifting mechanics feel great, the retro presentation is full of nostalgia, and the short races make it ideal for quick sessions. It also plays great on Steam Deck.
If you already enjoy the base game, the DLC is an easy recommendation. And if you’re new to Parking Garage Rally Circuit, the main game itself is well worth checking out, too.
Final Verdict: I Like it a Lot.
