There can be something very satisfying about hidden object games; I had a good time looking for cute, cuboid cats in Secret Paws – Cozy Offices last year. This year, Sagitta Studios and eastasiasoft are back with those adorable felines in Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments. SooziQ shared her thoughts on the Steam demo, and I get to play the full version on the Nintendo Switch.
Cats, Cats and More Cats!
In Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments, there are 3 apartments, with a total of 14 rooms to search. The isometric rooms can be rotated, and need to be, so that each sofa, table, drawer set, kitchen unit, or bathroom cabinet can be seen from a different angle. It’s amazing how, from one angle, you can’t see a cat, but from the next it’s very obvious. When you find a cat, clicking on it turns it purple, and the counter decreases.
The aesthetic of Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments is very similar to the previous game, and like before, those sneaky cats can hide in drawers, cupboards, coffee cups, behind pictures, in plug holes and plants. There are still the tricky black cats on a black background, but this time there are purple cats, which look like they have already been found.
Most of the rooms can be entered via the main menu; however, some are locked. To unlock the door, you need to find a key or code in an attached room. This is a great addition and gives an extra challenge in Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments.

Like the previous game, Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments has a great hint function, which highlights a hiding cat in red. You might need to rotate the room to see the one highlighted. There’s a 1.5-minute cooldown period before you can use the hint again.
Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments Gameplay
Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments works well in docked and handheld mode, with the added benefit of touchscreen functionality to select the cats, although you still need the buttons to zoom in/out and rotate. The controls are shown on screen at the beginning of each level.
The game autosaves, and it took me around 10 minutes to find all the cats in each room, so there is a couple of hours of gameplay in total. Once all the cats in the room have been found, the main menu displays a green checkmark against that room.
Conclusion
Looking for the cute cats in Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments is a delight. The additional puzzles of unlocking rooms and windows elevates this hidden objects game, and it never fails to amuse me how previously unseen cats are clearly visible when you rotate the scene.
