Farlands Switch – July 16th

Seeking a change in your life, you saw an offer you couldn’t refuse; an entire planet at a bargain price! An old agrarian rock that’s been abandoned for years in an outlying solar system. So with little more than your worn-out ship and your personal assistance droid, you decide to embark on a new phase of your life in a lost corner of the galaxy.
Restore your planet! Cut weeds, clear paths, reclaim fields and fix what the passing of time has destroyed; turn an old agrarian rock into a thriving homestead
Go-Go Town Switch & Switch 2 – July 16th

Step into the role of a truly hands-on mayor and shape your town from the ground up. Plan neighbourhoods, optimise logistics networks, and help your community grow – all while juggling workers, infrastructure, suspiciously large tools, visiting robots, aliens & dinosaurs, and the general day-to-day chaos of building your dream town.
And when mayoral duties get a little much, take a break with a spot of fishing, have a spin on the Go-Kart track, or even high-five a cow.
Play solo for perfect control, or bring friends for co-op mayhem. Lay out your streets, then place businesses, homes, and services where they’ll thrive. Welcome tourists, keep them happy, and give them plenty of reasons to stick around and make your town their home. Hire workers, keep shops stocked, and make sure the money keeps flowing, then upgrade, expand, and unlock new ways to help your town flourish.
Margaret reviewed Go-Go Town on Steam and liked it a lot:
Although the shift from pure fantasy landscapes to a modern world with some urban fantasy trappings may be disappointing for fans of Yonder and Grow, it’s a shift that works really well for this game. You won’t have to wait long for those familiar bits of fantastical silliness to creep into your game, and the few early learning frustrations are quickly revealed as little mind tricks to help you realize this is a new kind of game for the developer. Your builds are bite-sized at first, and so are your tools. But you won’t feel hampered for long, and the sense of progression stays quick without making you feel overwhelmed.
For fans of Kairosoft and their niche of lighthearted management games, Go-Go Town is going to be a big hit. It does a lot of the same things as, say, Tropical Resort Story, but with a sillier plot and a lot fewer plates to juggle. It also features lots of Prideful Sloth’s signature style techniques, from a graphical aesthetic I keep thinking of as plump and fluffy to streamlined sim elements that avoid making you feel like you need a spreadsheet. It’s a game that’s a lot of fun already and shows clear signs of being another winner for fans of this reliable, cozy game creator. Wishlist it or try it out now on Steam!
