Welcome. It’s time to look at the Upcoming Steam Games in May 2026 that we have on our radar. However, aside from our Upcoming Steam Games, if you play on Nintendo Switch, we also have an Upcoming Switch and Switch 2 Games article.
Upcoming Steam Games
Furthermore, not all games to be released are listed here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking note of these games, and you can expect reviews for many of them if given half the chance. It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Steam website.
HYPERWIRED – July 2nd

Hyperwired is a classic top-down action shooter where your spaceship has a plug hanging from it. Wire yourself into sockets, gather upgrades, and unlock ships as you explore a procedurally generated galaxy with roguelike elements.
James reviewed HYPERWIRED and liked it a lot:
Hyperwired ended up being one of those games that quietly won me over. It doesn’t rely on a complicated story or cinematic presentation. Instead, it simply throws you into space, hands you a spaceship with an electrical plug hanging from the back and lets the gameplay do the talking.
The shooting itself can occasionally feel a little fiddly before you’ve earned some upgrades, and there is a learning curve during those opening runs. Once everything starts coming together, though, it becomes a genuinely enjoyable pick-up-and-play experience that’s easy to recommend. At under ten pounds, it’s also very reasonably priced, and with a free demo available on Steam, there’s very little reason not to give it a try first.
Hyperwired’s clever plug-and-socket mechanic gives it enough personality to stand out. Sometimes all it takes is one good idea, and in Hyperwired’s case, that idea is surprisingly… electrifying.
Moonlight Peaks – July 7th

Unravel the mysteries of the seven families that inhabit Moonlight Peaks and bring a bit of light back to this spooky settlement. Just remember to be back in your coffin before the sun comes up!
Yvonne reviewed Moonlight Peaks and liked it a lot. We also have a Beginner’s Guide: Tips for Supernatural Farming Life for Moonlight Peaks here.
Moonlight Peaks is a great farming and crafting simulation game, with romance included and so much divers things to do that it won’t feel like a chore soon. I’ve found a few niggles, but it didn’t detract from the fun I had playing, and I hope that over time the few small niggles that I had can be remedied by the team at Little Chicken.
The idea behind this cozy magical farming sim with a supernatural twist is great and well executed. It gives us a simulation game that doesn’t follow the standard way of working, making it feel novel and refreshing because of it.

What Surrounds Us – July 15th

Step into an abstract ecosystem where every individual matters! Observe and get to know the creatures around you in order to solve puzzles and uncover more about the world of What Surrounds Us.
Something’s off, and the world isn’t working as it should. A new creature is isolating the others, pulling them away from food sources, disrupting natural habitats, and threatening the balance of the entire ecosystem. Help the creatures solve their problems. Progress through the world to uncover what’s really going on and find a way to restore harmony before it’s too late!
Amanda reviewed What Surrounds Us and liked it:
It’s remarkable how the developers manage to create such a diverse environment with this art style. Typically, you’d expect a wide variety of assets to represent each creature, but in What Surrounds Us, the visual distinctions lie solely in the patterns on each donut-like entity. What truly makes each creature stand out is its behaviour—how they move and interacts with the world around it. Additionally, despite the lack of a map or any indications to new areas, I found it surprisingly easy to navigate and discover new areas.
It’s evident that experienced developers worked on this title; it takes skill to craft such minimalistic gameplay and visuals while still making the experience engaging and intuitive. I do wish the game were longer, and I’m certain that introducing just a few more mechanics could have extended it. But even so, I had a great time and was pleasantly surprised by What Surrounds Us.
Teeto – July 15th

Teeto’s got a talent for absorbing all sorts of objects – and turning them into wild new forms! With Nory’s Vionite-powered backpack, they unlock unique abilities to outsmart enemies, solve puzzles, and discover hidden secrets. Mix it up, get creative, and see what strange new powers you’ll unleash!
Life’s better with a buddy – and so is saving the world! Grab a friend and dive into split-screen co-op, where you’ll absorb, transform, and explore together. Solve puzzles, help each other out, and take on this wild adventure side by side!
We did an interview with the developers of Teeto, Eat Pant Games, and James reviewed Teeto, liked it a lot and had this to say:
Teeto is simply a lovely game. It doesn’t try to reinvent the platforming genre with massive complexity or punishing difficulty. Instead, it focuses on creating an adventure that’s welcoming, cheerful and genuinely enjoyable to play.
The transformation mechanic is creative, the world is packed with secrets, the controls feel great, and the overall atmosphere is impossible not to smile at. Yes, it’s definitely aimed towards the more casual side of platforming, and experienced players looking for a serious challenge may find it a little too forgiving.
Sometimes it’s nice to play a game that simply wants you to relax, explore and have fun. Teeto absolutely succeeds at that. If you’re a fan of classic 3D platformers, collectathons, or simply want something capable of brightening your day, this is an easy recommendation.

Carissa Ward was all set to start her new job as the VP of marketing–until YOU hit her with your truck and transported her consciousness to a world of fantasy and magic! Rather than accept her fate, gathering a party and going on a journey of growth and self-discovery, Carissa uses all her knowledge of anime tropes and Japanese RPGs to find a different path:
