It’s time to take a look at the upcoming Switch and Switch 2 games that are being newly released on our favourite handhelds, the Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2. Plus, we also feature Upcoming Steam Games for those of you who prefer gaming on Steam! You can check the Nintendo website for games that will play on both the original Switch and the Switch 2.
Upcoming Switch Games
Not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games. You can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Nintendo website.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Switch 1 and Switch 2 – June 5th
Choose from one of two protagonists whose destinies are intertwined by mysterious forces. Use sacred treasures to fight against the Blight’s many forms to restore the people, and even gods, to their natural glory. Take farming further, as you’ll manage more than a plot, rebuilding entire villages and cultivating new allies and resources along the way. Explore seasonal-themed villages heavily inspired by traditional Japanese culture, each with brand-new festivals and revamped fan-favourites, as well as charming romance candidates.
Yvonne reviewed Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma and gave it our highest score of Two Thumbs Up.
Marvelous totally changed direction, and I can say I love it. They kept the essence of farming, exploring, and romance and put a new twist on all of it. Adding a management element into the mix by taking care of various villages and workers is brilliant; it takes away what can ultimately become a tedious chore. To me, the fighting is more difficult, but then I’m never a big fan of action fighting. But by adding story mode, it is very much doable.
There really is so much to tell about Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, I could fill many pages detailing all there is to do in the game. For now, though, I’ll add my verdict to this review.
Survival Kids Switch 2 – June 5th
Picture this: A dusty old attic, cobwebs, forgotten boxes and the faint smell of neglect. Four curious kids stumble upon an ancient, tattered map, sparking an unexpected adventure…
Setting out to sea upon their ramshackle boat, a sudden, ferocious storm hurls them into a hidden world brimming with danger and mystery. Now it’s down to you to help them work together and find their way home in Survival Kids – a fast-paced, co-op survival game for absolutely everyone!

Survival Kids is bright and colourful, with lovely graphics and great audio narration. The ability to GameShare makes playing with friends and family more accessible, more enjoyable and some of the challenges easier to complete. However, Survival Kids has been carefully designed, so that you can complete the whole game by yourself.
I’ve had a blast with the bomb flowers, reached new heights with the cannons and wanted more islands to explore. Survival Kids is definitely a contender for one of my games of the year.
Mario Kart World Switch 2 – June 5th
Hit the open road with Mario and friends! Zip along courses on a vast world where everything is connected. Race around grassy plains, bustling cities, wide-open waters, big ol’ volcanoes, and more…plus everything in between. Exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2!
BRAVELY DEFAULT FLYING FAIRY HD Remaster Switch 2 – June 5th
Follow four Warriors of Light on a journey to restore the elemental crystals in the HD remaster of the Nintendo 3DS RPG masterpiece, BRAVELY DEFAULT. Experience an RPG that brings new depth to classic, turn-based battles with the introduction of the “Brave & Default” system – featuring an array of options to customise your characters with over 20 unique jobs. The game also includes quality of life updates and two new minigames that leverage the dual mouse controls of Nintendo Switch 2.
SPLIT FICTION Switch 2 – June 5th
Embrace mind-blowing moments as you’re pulled deep into the many worlds of Split Fiction, a boundary-pushing co-op action adventure from the studio behind the 2021 Game of the Year Winner It Takes Two. Mio and Zoe are contrasting writers – one writes sci-fi, and the other writes fantasy – who become trapped in their own stories after being hooked up to a machine designed to steal their creative ideas. They’ll have to rely on each other to break free from their memories intact, working together to master a variety of abilities and overcome diverse challenges while jumping between sci-fi and fantasy worlds in this unexpected tale of friendship.
Ashwood Valley Switch 1 – June 5th
In Ashwood Valley, you’ll step into the shoes of either Luna or Draco – two magical siblings whose spell-casting mishap opens a portal to a vibrant world… and turns one of them into a cat. Now, it’s up to you to restore a ruined cottage, befriend quirky creatures, and uncover the secrets of the enchanted valley to break the curse.
Grow magical plants, explore changing seasons, complete odd quests for chocolate-loving mayors or cheese-obsessed dwarves, and pet all the wild animals you can find – even the strawberry cows!
Lynne reviewed Ashwood Valley and had this to say:
There are some nice touches in Ashwood Valley: unlimited pockets are always welcome, and your little character happily runs around the valley, making exploring quick.
However, the controls are unresponsive and slow to trigger, making the farming and animal management a tedious process. The main objective is too easy to complete, and then there is little to keep you truly engaged.

Tamagotchi Plaza Switch 1 – June 26th
The latest and completely new title in the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series, Tamagotchi Plaza, is set in Tamahiko Town on Tamagotchi Planet.
Treat cavities at the Dentist. Make the perfect pair of glasses at the Eyewear Shop. Create table settings for sweets and drinks to fulfil customer orders at the Afternoon Tea Shop. Help serve Tamagotchi at 12 unique shops and grow your shops’ reputations, enticing new Tamagotchi to visit your shops.
You can also interact with Tamagotchi, solving their problems and making the shops thrive and the town super lively. In addition, for the first time in the series, offline two-player mode is available for some shops!
Locomoto Switch 1 – June 26th
Locomoto is a cosy, life-sim adventure train game in which you are the conductor! Customise, manage and expand your train while tending to your colourful, furry passengers. Board your train and embark on a journey through beautiful landscapes, all while enjoying the soft, lofi beats of an extensive original soundtrack.
Ruffy and the Riverside Switch 1 – June 26th
In Ruffy and the Riverside, you wield the magic SWAP to Copy & Paste textures – turn ice into lava or waterfalls into vines! Explore, fight, skate on straw bales, and unleash your imagination in this quirky open-world action game. Dive into an adventure that lets you literally change the world!
