Freedom Planet 2 – April 4th

Promotional artwork for Freedom Planet 2 featuring the main characters in dynamic action poses against a celestial night sky backdrop. Lilac, a dragon-like humanoid with purple hair, is prominently displayed in the foreground reaching out, as if inviting the viewer into the adventure. Carol, a wildcat with green attire, kicks energetically above Lilac, while Milla, a basset hound with leafy wings, floats to the right. A male lizard character is riding a motorcycle on the far right. In the background, a large, luminous moon illuminates a mountainous landscape and a starry sky. The game's title logo, 'FREEDOM PLANET 2,' is vibrant and prominently placed in the center of the image." Published on: LadiesGamers

Return to the vibrant world of Avalice to battle an ancient threat in the long-awaited sequel to the surprise indie action-platformer hit, Freedom Planet. In the years since the events of the original game, our three heroines have refined their signature abilities, making them more formidable than ever before. Take advantage of Lilac’s speed with her Dragon Boost, reach new heights with Carol’s Jump Disc or motorcycle, or take a more measured approach with Milla’s shield. And all-new playable character Neera won’t be left out in the cold, as she can use her powerful Frost Arts to punish foes. Like its predecessor, this high-speed platforming adventure delivers exhilarating momentum-based action but advances the formula with new gameplay systems and enhancements.

With 24 expertly designed stages, an ambitiously expanded Adventure mode, retro-but-refined 2D visuals, and the addition of the highly requested Boss Rush mode, Freedom Planet 2 is the indie darling grown up to become a true platforming power.

James reviewed Freedom Planet 2 and said this in his conclusion:

Freedom Planet 2 takes all its assets from the first game and builds on them in every way creating a sequel that is more polished. If you loved the first game or retro platformers, this is a must-buy. Even if you just want a solid good platformer, Freedom Planet 2 provides some solid entertainment to keep you busy for several gaming weekends, with plenty of incentive to return again. For me, the story was a bit too heavy in places, and the performance sometimes slowed. But despite these minor niggles it’s hard not to be sucked in by the charm of Freedom Planet 2.

Tengoku Struggle – Strayside – April 4th

"Key visual for Tengoku Struggle - Strayside showcasing a montage of its characters in a stylized, vibrant composition. The artwork features a central figure with a sly expression, wearing a dark fedora and a detective's coat, surrounded by an ensemble of other characters in action-packed poses. Each character exhibits unique traits, from a woman wielding fiery energy to individuals with mysterious, supernatural gadgets and symbols. A myriad of elements like playing cards, dice, and stylized flora adds to the chaotic energy of the scene. The game's title, 'TENGOKU STRUGGLE' in bold, pixelated font along with the subtitle 'Strayside' is presented in the upper right corner on a mustard yellow background." Published on: LadiesGamers

Caroline reviewed Tengoku Struggle – Strayside – and said this in her conclusion:

Tengoku Struggle -Strayside- has all the elements that I love in an Otome game. An interesting world, good LI’s (Love interests) with some spicy scenes and a good story. I would recommend picking this up and just enjoying the journey.

"The promotional banner for Cirrus Business features a playful and colorful display of cartoon animal characters against a bright blue background. A brown rabbit with a pink bow, a cat in a sorcerer's hat, a cheerful cloud, a pink pig, and a blue alpaca in a top hat are among the cute, stylized creatures present. Each character has large, expressive eyes and a unique accessory, adding to their whimsical charm. The game's title 'Cirrus Business' is spelled out in a multi-colored, bubble-letter font, hovering above the characters, giving off a fun and inviting vibe suitable for a family-friendly game." Help Cloudi and friends restore their home in this whimsical, story-driven farming adventure. You’ll learn that growing and managing magical crops while defending against the slobsters isn’t a breeze but very serious business.

I reviewed Cirrus Business and said this in my conclusion:

Cirrus Business has the framework to be a cute, wholesome game, with growing plants, restoring the energy for the biomes and lovely graphics. I feel the balance of Cirrus Business Economy, as the game calls it, isn’t right. But, if you are more nimble-fingered than I am, you might have no trouble beating the Slobsters and gathering all the Windsprinkles you need.

Sophia The Traveler – April 11th

"Artwork for Sophie the Traveler set in a romanticized Venice-like canal scene. The illustration has a colorful, comic-book style, with detailed line art and vibrant coloring. A young girl with pink hair, accompanied by a white dog, sits in a gondola, being steered by a gondolier in traditional striped attire and a straw hat. The scene is framed by elegant buildings with classic Venetian architecture, adorned with flower boxes and greenery. The water reflects the clear sky and the facades of the buildings, enhancing the idyllic setting. Above the scene, the game's title 'Sophie the Traveler' is written in a playful, whimsical font." Sophia the Traveler contains ten different scenes. More than 1800 character assets, over 300 sets of character animation, and more than 100 sequence animations.

Kalina reviewed Sophia the Traveler and said this in her conclusion:

All in all, Sophia the Traveler is a solid entry in the hidden object genre. It has all the hallmarks of an excellent game. For me, the hint recharge time was a bit long. This, coupled with the vast scenes with more minor elements to find, such as bone or a backpack, made for an exhausting rather relaxing experience. But this game is for you if you like detailed hidden object scenes.

Moonglow Bay – April 11th

"A picturesque and inviting banner for Moonglow Bay, capturing the essence of a cozy, coastal fishing village. A lighthouse stands prominently on a cliff to the left, guiding boats in the gentle bay waters. The central focus is a small fishing boat with joyful passengers, including a dog, all ready for a day of adventure at sea. The water teems with marine life, with fish visible just below the surface, and seagulls flying overhead. Quaint buildings line the shore, and rolling hills can be seen in the distance under a vast, clear sky. The game's logo, with its stylized font and colorful design, floats above the serene scene." Published on: LadiesGamers

Combining a playful voxel art style with a sumptuous soundtrack by Lena Raine, your journey is split into several distinct story arcs featuring a fully-inhabited town to traverse and the potential for epic encounters with the rumoured Mystical Monsters of Moonglow.

Paula reviewed the game on Steam some years ago, gave it an I Like it a Lot and wrote this in her conclusion:

Moonglow Bay tells a tale of a quaint town, with people afraid to go into the sea mixed with a story about grief. But, it also has lots of feel-good themes of resilience and community spirit. While the game could do with a little more work in some areas, it is still an enjoyable game to play. And the icing on the cake is, yes, you can pet Muffin the dog as many times as you want to!

Ready, Steady, Ship! – April 18th

"Cover art for Ready, Steady, Ship! shows two characters in a warehouse setting, engaged in the energetic task of shipping packages. A young woman with a confident smile wears a hard hat and is perched atop a stack of boxes, while a man with a beard, also donning a hard hat, carries a heavy crate with a look of concentration. Both characters are outfitted in work gear, including gloves and boots, highlighting the game's theme of hands-on logistics and teamwork. The background reveals the interior of a busy warehouse filled with crates and the rays of light filtering through windows high above. The title 'READY, STEADY, SHIP!' is boldly presented in playful, colorful lettering at the top of the image." Published on: LadiesGamers

Grab a buddy for this chaotic couch co-op delight. Use various tools and equipment to assemble the most efficient conveyor belts to keep the goods flowing.

Keep the line moving! Chaotically assemble the most efficient conveyor belts to keep the goods flowing out of the factory. Use various tools and equipment to overcome the ever-increasing challenges and goods the factory throws at you. It’s best played in a 2-player couch coop, but it also supports single-player.

James reviewed Ready, Steady, Ship and said this in his conclusion:

Ready, Steady, Ship! is another example of a game that turns a real-world occupation into something silly but ultimately fun. That is provided you’re playing in co-op. Single-player is not awful, but it highlights some of the game’s niggles, such as floaty controls, wonky physics and the experience feeling more mundane. But throw a controller at another player, and much of this is overlooked since you can just sit back and have fun with the silliness on screen.

Add to the star system not being tied to a time limit, and you also have an experience that’s welcoming to those who have found other co-op games a tad stressful. Need another game night for two? Then consider Ready, Steady, Ship! for your next purchase.

Whisker Waters – April 19th

"Charming artwork for Whisker Waters, depicting a delightful anthropomorphic kitten standing on a wooden dock with a fishing rod and a bucket full of fish. The kitten, adorned with a small vest and a belt pouch, looks out at a tranquil river that flows through a rustic village. In the background, quaint houses with thatched roofs are nestled among lush greenery, while another cat character enjoys fishing on a pier. The atmosphere is serene, with a soft blue sky and gentle clouds overhead. The title 'WHISKER WATERS' is displayed in large, playful wooden lettering above, suggesting a whimsical fishing adventure in a storybook setting." Published on: LadiesGamers

Lunar Lander Beyond – April 23rd

"Dramatic promotional artwork for Lunar Lander Beyond, depicting a spacecraft with golden flames bursting from its thrusters as it maneuvers through a space environment. In the backdrop, the silhouetted form of a colossal statue looms, surrounded by floating geometric crystals. The cosmic scene is set against a deep space backdrop, rich with starry details and a subtle hint of planetary bodies. The title 'LUNAR LANDER BEYOND' is emblazoned across the top in bold, block lettering that complements the futuristic and adventurous feel of the game." Published on: LadiesGamers

Deliver cargo, retrieve resources, and rescue stranded pilots as you navigate a mysterious universe of moons and planets.

It’s a thankless job, replete with tension and danger, and it takes a psychological toll on your crew. But someone has to keep this unseen lifeblood of the interplanetary economy moving.

When a mysterious portal appears, leading to a strange, unexplored planet, you will find you are on a collision course with some sinister truths that lie unseen behind the universe. Poor flying and fatigue will stress your pilots and can lead to sensory illusions … the bane of long-haul solo pilots. They may start to see things that may not be real – is that a mine or a fish? And what’s with those celestial pink elephants?!

With multiple pilots, four ships and a dozen upgrades to collect, you can get the job done if you can manage it all … if not, the stakes are high, and not just for your career.

James reviewed Lunar Lander Beyond and said this in his conclusion:

Lunar Lander Beyond was a mixed experience for me. On the one hand, I liked how the game maintained the control scheme from the original, requiring patience and careful control to succeed in missions. The different ships, upgrades and pilot perks also add some satisfying variety to keep you interested till the end of the game. The reasonably short mission structure would also appeal to busy gamers who can only fit a few short sessions in here and there.

Features I wasn’t so fond of was the stress meter which felt more like a nuisance than a rewarding challenge to overcome. Also, the missions, while showing some variety, felt a bit repetitive at times. Do I recommend the game? Yes. Lunar Lander Beyond is different from a lot of games on the market, and so long as you go in with a patient mindset, I think you’ll have fun with it.

Another Crab’s Treasure – April 25th

"Vibrant underwater scene for Another Crab's Treasure featuring aquatic life and a bold sense of adventure. In the forefront, a determined crab hero brandishes a can as a shield, poised for action. Surrounding the crab are various colorful sea creatures, each with their unique style and personality, some donning makeshift armor from human litter. The ocean floor is littered with trash, transforming into treasures in this underwater world, hinting at a theme of recycling and repurposing. The game's title, etched in stylish lettering that evokes a maritime feel, is displayed prominently against a backdrop of sunlit water and a submerged city." Published on: LadiesGamers
