Welcome to our Wholesome gaming news!
This week, we have news about a Switch demo for Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, a mobile version for Reviver, a release date for Amber Isle on Switch and LOK Digital is also coming to mobile. New details for Atelier Yumia, RoboDunk on PlayStation and Xbox, Echoes of Plum Grove is coming to Switch and Tiny Garden is coming on Steam.
Switch Demo for Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero
Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero demo is available now, ahead of its launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on January 30! The Steam version will follow later in Spring 2025. In the demo, you can play through the first two chapters of the story, with all save-data carrying over to the main game upon release.
In strategy RPG Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, you journey with Marona, a gifted young girl with the power to speak to Phantoms. She traverses the ocean world of Ivoire, providing aid to those in need. When a fleet of ghost ships attack, it’s up to Marona and her new friend Apricot to assemble the legendary crew that once defeated these spectral foes.
Recruit Phantoms, bind them to objects, combine them with Gadgets, and even merge them with Marona herself to unleash show-stopping abilities and sink the Shipwreck Fleet!
Mobile Version for Reviver
Reviver has a mobile version, launching January 21st. That’s good news, as Kalina gave the game high praise when she reviewed it, saying in conclusion:
“In Reviver, we follow the life stories of two main characters and shape their destinies through our choices. The game’s combination of hand-drawn style and immersive interactive experience creates a profound journey of love and choice. It’s a great little game, and I can’t wait to see what the developers will come up with next.”
The mobile version will include support for both iOS and Android devices, covering all screen sizes of phones and tablets (including iPads and Android tablets).
Amber Isle Release Date on Switch
Amber Isle finally has a release date on Switch: it’s coming on February 13th. When Paula reviewed it on Steam she gave the game an I Like it a Lot, despite some early bugs. She wrote in her conclusion:
“Amber Isle delivers a charming, cosy simulation with a lot of heart. It’s easy to get swept up running your prehistoric shop and watching the island come back to life with a cast of dinosaurs that are cute and full of character.”
LOK Digital Coming to Mobile
LOK Digital is coming to Android and iOS on January 23rd. Which is nice, as Margaret gave the game our highest rating when it was released on PC. She wrote in her conclusion:
“LOK Digital is a remarkable translation of a pen and pencil puzzle game into something that can easily be picked up and played as a video game.”
New Details for Atelier Yumia
KOEI TECMO Europe and developer Gust unveiled new information for their upcoming JRPG Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land.
In this upcoming entry of the Atelier franchise, you can freely explore the Aladiss continent by discovering ruins, uncovering hidden treasures, and encountering brand-new characters. This overview trailer gives you a deeper look at the game system. I must admit I’m sorry the fighting in the game has turned even more to hectic action but I guess for a lot of people, that’s progress.
Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land will be available 21st March 2025 on Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Windows PC via Steam® and, for the first time in franchise history, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
RoboDunk on PlayStation and Xbox
RoboDunk was recently released on PlayStation consoles and Xbox after coming to Steam and Switch earlier in 2023. When James reviewed it on Steam earlier, he liked it a lot, saying in conclusion:
“RoboDunk is easily the best sports video game I have played in a very long time. Bringing the excitement and spectacle of basketball into a fun pick-up and play experience that becomes all the deeper for players who choose to take the time to master it. Fun alone and with friends in both long and short bursts of gameplay. If I had to nitpick anything, the game could feel a little grindy to unlock new content and upgrade your players. Otherwise, this is an utter slam dunk from the developers.”
Tiny Garden is Coming
Tiny Garden, a new game that seems right up my alley, is set to launch on April 8th for PC. Blending puzzle-solving, strategy, and a vibrant art style, this cosy title promises a stress-free gaming experience.
In Tiny Garden, you’ll grow whimsical plants, from colourful veggies to magical flowers, each with unique mechanics to uncover. As your garden thrives, you can trade your harvests for toy furniture to design your very own enchanting space. The game encourages relaxation and creativity, with every decision revealing new surprises in your magical little world.
Echoes of Plum Grove Coming to Switch
Good news for lovers of the Nintendo Switch like me: Echoes of Plum Grove is coming to my favourite handheld on February 13.
Kalina gave it our highest rating when she reviewed it on Steam, and wrote in her conclusion:
“Echoes of the Plum Grove is a charming addition to the well-populated farming/survival sim games genre. While none of the gameplay mechanics are particularly novel, the game’s unique look is sure to attract quite a few fans. At the same time, the game offers more than enough content to make you stay in-game for several seasons.”
