Early Access of Southfield Postponed
Sadly, the choice has been made to postpone the Early Access release of Southfield. It was originally scheduled for June 24th, but now the launch will happen at a later time. Radical Forge and the Southfield Team shared this message with us:
We have been working tirelessly to ensure that Southfield meets the high standards that our community deserves. However, it has become clear that we cannot achieve this without compromising the health and well-being of our team. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to delay the launch.
We understand how disappointing this news is, and we share in your frustration. We know how much anticipation and excitement has built up around Southfield, and we are deeply committed to delivering a product that lives up to the high expectations of our dedicated community.
Thank you for your continued patience and support during this challenging time. This is an incredibly hard decision for us to make, but we are confident it will lead to us making the game something truly special and that reflects that passion we’ve felt since the announcement from you.
We will keep you informed about future developments.
Big Update for Lightyear Frontier
Lightyear Frontier, the intergalactic open-world farming adventure from FRAME BREAK and Amplifier Studios, has announced its Making it Home update, arriving on June 26th. The game, which launched into Early Access in March, got our highest rating when Kalina reviewed it, as you can read here.
The Making it Home update introduces extended day cycles and shortened night cycles, giving you more time to enjoy the sunlight. New wall decorations, including banners, posters, stickers, benches, and lights, allow exofarmers to add even more personality to their farmsteads.
Exploration will also become easier with the new map marker system. You can now use up to 1,000 stamps to highlight key locations like caves, water sources, animals, or mysterious ruins on the map. Additionally, improvements to region restoration data will offer clearer guidance on how to cleanse and rejuvenate polluted lands.
For multiplayer enthusiasts, the integration of emotes will provide new ways to express yourself. Both farmers and mechs can engage in gestures such as waving, pointing, or displaying a heart emoji. These emotes can be captured in photo mode, which now includes new stamps and frames for even more personalization.
The update also introduces new foliage sprouts, auto collection for storage boxes and holograms, and the ability to relocate existing constructs. These additions are aimed at making farming smoother and more enjoyable.
Lightyear Frontier is available on PC via Steam and on Xbox X|S.

A New Leaf: Memories Updates
It’s been a few weeks since I had a first look at A New Leaf: Memories when it had just launched in early access on Steam. I could see the potential (read my thoughts about it here), but the game wasn’t quite there yet.
It’s good to see that developer Hidden Tower Studios is actively working on updates. The latest update is version 1.0.3, which brings an array of new features and improvements to enhance your farming adventure.
One of the standout additions is the new game intro, offering a fresh start to your farming journey with a brand-new introduction. You’ll also find an expanded island history, giving you deeper insights into the lore and helping you feel more connected to the game world.
Prepare for new quests and mysteries with additional Mystery Points of Interest (POIs) scattered across the island, providing more challenges and adventures. Plus, stores have undergone a visual overhaul, making your shopping experience even better. You can also customize your fences and vehicles with paint as well as a farm sign.
Added to that, various bug fixes and enhancements are in place. You can find more info on the game on the Steam page.
