YvoCaro Plays: snoring in my ear

Time to sit down for another YvoCaro Plays. As always, these blurbs are mostly about the video games I’m currently playing. Unedited thoughts that spring up in my mind, mostly game related. And sometimes a random train of thoughts starting with the game and ending somewhere completely different!

If you like these bits of gaming thoughts you can find the previous ones here

Two white antennas from my ears

Over the years, Apple products have taken over when it comes to my electronic devices. What started with an iPad 7 years ago, is now a combination of iPad, iPhone, iWatch and MacBook. I’m totally aware that Apple products may be overpriced compared to others, but for me, it works. The flawless synchronization of the devices, the intuitiveness and the way you turn it on and are good to go. Perfect!

Now, I’ve added AirPods to my array, bought them in the US as it’s cheaper for us then in the Netherlands. Still, I’m surprised as I see so many youngsters with these plugs in their ears, and they ain’t cheap! But I must say, they are perfect to use. And what’s more, I can connect them to my Switch. No more switching cables on my phones and Switch.

As the Switch doesn’t have Bluetooth, I had to buy an additional device to make it work. I got myself a Bluetooth adapter on Amazon.co.uk that works perfectly. I’d bought it last year to try with a couple of headphones, but I hadn’t expected it to connect so easily to the AirPods as well.

Snoring noises in the train

So there I was, in the train, connecting them for the first time. I was playing Dragon Quest Builders 2 while the train stopped at a midway station. A guy sat down next to me, the train was packed. Normally I hardly even notice, but in this case I was knocked out of my gaming reverie. How could he be asleep so soon and be snoring to prove it?

I glanced sideways to see if he was open mouthed and drooling as well. To my surprise he was staring right back at me. I quickly looked back at my screen and played a bit more. But the snoring continued. Could it be that he had a nasal problem? I tried to put it out of my mind, but found I couldn’t. Where was that blasted snoring coming from?

I furtively looked behind me, but no one was in dreamland. Not surprising as we only just pulled out of the station. Then all of a sudden it dawned on me: my miners in Khrumbul-Dun island had had long day of work. And they were snoring away happily in the next room after the night spent in the bar chucking back Digger’s Jigger. I had their snoring in one ear, and the game tune in the other ear!

Sorry train-neighbor for unjustly accusing you !
