2016, Gaming resolutions

Today one year ago, it was the first Monday of the year too, I wrote:

It’s Monday and the first “normal” day of 2015. Like many of you it’s back to work for me after a very nice holiday, or back to school for some of you. Now people who know me in real life will tell you that I’m awful at Mondays. Depending on the length of the weekend or holiday before said Monday, I am either a bit sad about the nice weekend that flew by and came to an end much too soon, or just plain obstinate because my long awaited holiday has come to an end. They know that it’s best to just leave me alone in the morning, by lunchtime I will have recovered to be my normal self. But for now I’m just sitting here at breakfast, and I was wondering how I’m going to get through this first day. Which made me decide to write this blog just because writing always makes me happy!

Some people have asked me what my New Year’s resolutions are. My answer is always short: I don’t make resolutions. In the past I made the usual kind of resolutions, like finally losing weight and to go through life as a much thinner version of my current self. Or doing more exercising, but I still haven’t found any kind of sport activity that I really like. So, no resolutions for me.

Today is another Monday just like that one. And all that I wrote back then is still true (no weight loss has been achieved, sadly, no exercising either…). The first one of the year, back to work after a very nice holiday that involved a visit to my much loved London. The holiday went much too fast, plus I hate it that the festive month of December has come to an end again. But I survived the first day without harming anyone, I managed to be my pleasant self (on the outside at least). So I guess I’m back in business, back to combining my work with my blogging life. And combining it with gaming as much as I can. And again, no resolutions. No list of gaming goals, I’ll just go where the mood takes me. As I always have. One exception though: I’m going to try to first play all the fun games on the Vita that I have bought heavily discounted, and give you my reviews.

So shortly you can expect the review for Atelier Ayesha Plus, to be followed by Norn9-Var Commons, Persona 4, Atelier Totori and Atelier Mereru. Maybe I will be tempted by Final Fantasy Explorers and Fire Emblem Fates on the 3DS though…Which game do you have next on your gaming list?

  1. I look forward to your reviews! I haven’t read about those games before. I try to keep resolutions I make. I usually make some progress, but never quite reach the drastic change I wanted lol. This year’s resolution is to learn some basic Spanish. So far I checked out a bilingual kid’s book from the library. It has only been sitting on my desk though. There is still tomorrow :p

    1. There’s always tomorrow! At least that is what I tell myself when it comes to dieting! Spanish is a cool language, I studied it myself for a time, but I think I’ve forgotten most of it. Good resolution though!

  2. By all accounts, 2016 is going to be an amazing gaming year! So many good games slated for release, it’s nearly like a dream. I don’t have any gaming resolution as well, but I sure have a very long gaming wish list!

I have one resolution partly related to gaming, though, which is none other than learning Japanese! Or rather re-learning it, since I studied it a couple of years ago (and forgot most of it because of a lack of use). Mastery of Japanese will certainly help me broaden my gaming horizons, which i look forward to! 🙂

  3. I haven’t played any games for a couple of weeks. I seem to get burnt out on gaming by the end of the year for some reason. I envision that Bravely Default Second will rekindle my love of handhelds/consoles.

  4. Ah, you’re planning to review Persona 4! Awesome. If you’ve played it through already, than make sure to point out the difficulty of the game. Few words. Shadow *SPOILERS*. Anyways, my resolutions for this year in gaming? Play more games and have fun!

    1. That’s the best of the possible gaming resolutions!
I haven’t played Persona 4 yet, so a review will take some time, but I’ll keep your advice in mind. Still very much into Atelier ayesha!
