As you know we are always on the lookout for simulation games that are out of the ordinary. Developer BlackStaff Games and publishers Merge Games are bringing Buildings Have Feelings Too! to the Nintendo Switch on April 22 2021!
Buildings Have Feelings Too is a fun city management game that puts a new spin on the building simulator model. All about buildings and the city they inhabit. Now, imagine this, a city where buildings can walk and talk to one another, with each one possessing its own hopes, dreams and even fears.
Buildings on the Move

Most of the time they are just trying to get along with each other and make it through the day, much like the rest of us. That’s the focus of Buildings Have Feelings Too!, which manifests itself as a city management game with a shed load of character. As a result, you’ll need to help grow the city as a whole whilst also making sure the individual buildings thrive; otherwise, there’s a risk that they would be demolished forever too.

Buildings Walk and Talk to one Another
With the building’s architectural styles ranging from the Victorian Era to the modern-day, the buildings walk, they talk to one another, and they have their own personalities.
Each building must be encouraged to grow and thrive as they struggle to come to grips with the changing world, or they risk being demolished and lost forever. As the city grows, new industries, specialized neighbourhoods, and architectural marvels will open up, but so will world events that can cause businesses and buildings to fail.

Refurbishment or Move
You must discover new ways to attend to their city’s needs, developer Blackstaff Games explained. “This could involve refurbishing a building or simply grabbing it by the hand and moving it to a nicer part of the neighbourhood.”
An interesting twist to the game is that the developer decided to look in their own back yard for building designs. Their art crew went around and took photos of buildings around the city of Belfast, Northern Ireland where they are based and then replicated the buildings in the game.
Belfast happens to be my home city, so I’m particularly interested in this game as I recognise most of the building in the game. The Strand Cinema famed for its art deco design is a short walk from my house.

Buildings Disagreements
In most city management games, when it comes to placing new buildings, all you really need to worry about is having enough space for the actual building and maybe nearby resources for whatever the building’s purpose will be.
That’s not the case with Buildings Have Feelings Too!, since the buildings aren’t your basic inanimate objects. These buildings not only have feelings, but they also have opinions on who should get built next door, and you had better pay attention. The building will let their feelings be known if they are placed beside another building they don’t agree with. If you put the wrong buildings next to each other, your city will suffer.

Make the Buildings Happy
On the flip side of the disagreements, if you place the proper buildings next to each other and peace and harmony may ensue. Put some apartment buildings up, then throw a pub in the mix, and everyone gets happier and happier. Give them factories and other places of employment and your city may just thrive well enough that you’ll be able to create a massive, successful environment that can thrive for decades.

Research Industries and Hire Specialists
As the years pass, you can research more and more industries and hire specialists to create an even better utopia with more specific areas like a financial district or a busy theatre district. Multiple neighbourhoods will also bring in to play things like electricity sources, transportation, and noise pollution.
You’ll be able to customise and rearrange your city’s layout by moving buildings and find the perfect combination for your city to grow. Expand across multiple neighbourhoods of your city, discovering new landmark characters and districts.
