Cloudy with a Chance of Kittens is an upcoming Suika-inspired puzzle game in development by Ninja Chompek.

The Gameplay of Cloudy with a Chance of Kittens
In Cloudy with a Chance of Kittens, we have a glass jar to fill with dessert-shaped kittens by merging them with the goal to create a new kitten. The idea is to stay below the line while merging the kittens until you reach the biggest kitten.
By merging cats, you also unlock power-ups and combos. Some of them clear kittens of a specific level, while others might make all the kittens smaller and, as such, stay below the line and prolong your time to get the last kitten.
According to the game’s Steam page, Cloudy with a Chance of Kittens will have a challenge mode in addition to the relaxed mode currently in the game. There’s an inactive leaderboard on the screen.

The kittens’ design is great, and the way they bounce off each other makes stacking and merging them a game of chance as much as strategy. The kittens are falling down from a cloud on top of the screen, and you have vague control over where to position the cloud.
Cloudy with a Chance of Kittens is an adorable game with cute graphics and a nice soundtrack. The absence of a timer, combined with the relaxed mode, makes the game a perfectly chill experience.
On the right side, we have a wheel of kittens – showing how merging them gets you to the final kitten. On the upper right side, we see a “forecast” – showing which kitten will appear next. Once you have merged the kittens to a certain level, the game sends you random kittens in random order.

Some Other Things
Cloudy with a Chance of Kittens has basic audio and video settings. There are no Steam achievements or trading cards yet.
Conclusion
Cloudy with a Chance of Kittens is one of my favorite games I’ve tried this month. As it is now, it’s a little bare as I got to the final kitten in less than half an hour. That being said, I can see the potential, and I can’t wait to see the full version.
Final Verdict: I Like it a Lot
