Cutout Village Demo Ahead Of Steam Next Fest

If you’re curious about city-builder Cutout Village, you can now try it for yourself. Developer DevilishGames has released a playable demo on Steam, alongside a new trailer shown during the Six One Indie Showcase.

Demo Available Till End of Steam Next Fest

The demo for Cutout Village is available now on Steam and will remain playable until the end of Steam Next Fest, which runs from 15 June to 22 June.

This trial version includes a full level from the story mode, giving you a clear look at the game’s core mechanics. You’ll work with paper craft elements, cutting, folding, and gluing pieces together to build and shape your village.

One standout feature is that the buildings you create in-game can also be downloaded as PDF files, allowing you to assemble them in real life.

A Cozy City Builder With A Crafting Twist

Cutout Village blends city-building with hands-on crafting mechanics. As you progress, you collect sheets that can be used to unlock new services and expand your population capacity.

You can customise your medieval-inspired village using a variety of building and decoration sheets. The final game will include over 50 cutout buildings and pieces of street furniture, giving you plenty of creative options.

Alongside the story mode, there will also be a sandbox mode where you can design and expand your village without restrictions.

A Story About Reviving A Village

The game’s narrative centres on restoring an abandoned village. You follow a main character who inherits an old family house in a place once filled with childhood memories.

Through interacting with the village and meeting its needs, the story gradually unfolds. The tone leans into a calm and reflective experience, supported by visuals inspired by watercolours and traditional crafting books.

Release Window And Platforms

Cutout Village is expected to launch in the second half of 2026. It is planned for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.

For now, the demo offers a hands-on introduction to its unique mix of crafting and city-building, giving you a chance to see how the concept feels in practice.
