Castaway Paradise
In Castaway Paradise, you are stranded on a tropical island and must renovate and design your new home. You can take care of your neighbours, catch insects, grow crops, and even create your own outfit. Decorate your island to create the paradise of your dreams and help the residents fulfil their wishes.
Paula survived the shipwreck to give her views on Castaway Paradise:
Castaway Paradise is a great time sink, it is very easy to spend an hour or two just mulling around the islands. Catching a few fish, pulling out some weeds or just tending to your crops.
Gameplay that will appeal to most gamers, especially those that have played Animal Crossing. The Switch is a good home for the game as the portability of the switch would be great for checking in for the daily rewards in Castaway Paradise on a commute to work.

From seeds to vegetables and processed products. There are animals, meat processing plants, farming machines, workers with different skill sets, warehouses with cooling, anti-pesticides, and many more. A lot of different strategies can be successfully executed to make the farm profitable.
You can surely make a jack-of-all-trades farm to min-max the systems, but perhaps just a fully sustainable and independent apple juice company can drive the prices up and be more profitable? Maybe using only eco-friendly energy sources will pay off in the long run, especially with the government grant? Or you just *love* beef steaks and want to make the best quality filet mignon in the world? Any farm-related business idea seems possible in Farm Tycoon!
Yvonne enjoyed tending her fields in Farm Tycoon, concluding:
What can I say? I love Farm Tycoon because I love the management part, trying to make it into a thriving farm and keeping my eye on the finances. I would like to see some improvements however in the game like a tutorial that is sorely missed to make Farm Tycoon more accessible. It got me making my own lists and schematics, but I can see how this would deter other players.
It’s been some time since I couldn’t stop thinking about a game during the day, wanting nothing better than to play on. A sure sign of a hit for me. Based on the PC game Farm Manager SONKA did a good job helping the game make the jump to consoles. It’s great fun to have this fully-fledged farm in handheld mode on my Switch. I can manage the farm while travelling to my own work by train!

Graveyard Keeper

Graveyard Keeper is the most inaccurate medieval cemetery management sim of the year. Build & manage your own graveyard while finding shortcuts to cut costs, expand into entertainment with witch-burning festivals, and scare nearby villagers into attending church. This is a game of capitalism and doing whatever it takes to build a thriving business.
Paula was dying to get to grips with Graveyard Keeper:
Graveyard Keeper looks lovely with its pixel art graphics. The soundtrack changes depending on what area of the map you’re in. Sometimes there’s music, sometimes the ambient sounds and weather effects: all of this makes the game an inviting world to spend time in, even with its morbid theme.
Caution should be used however as some of the games’ theme and language may be slightly offensive to some, especially the young.
For fans of the genre: if you can get your head around the cutting up and burying off the dead, make no bones about it. Graveyard Keeper is a great addition to the Nintendo Switch, and it seems the life of an undertaker can certainly keep a player busy for hours with a wide array of gameplay activities.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising
Immortals Fenyx Rising™ brings grand mythological adventure to life. Play as Fenyx, a new, winged demigod, on a quest to save the Greek gods.
Testing her knowledge of Greek mythology, Paula gave Immortals: Fenyx Rising our highest rating.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising is an excellent adventure offering lots of challenges and many puzzles to complete. It has a unique take on the RPG adventure genre, with enough style and humour to set it apart from any other take on Greek mythology with a fun retelling of classic mythology.
I’ve roped Yvonne in to play the game as well promising her an epic adventure and lots of exploring. It’s no secret she is no ace at fighting, but you can play Immortals: Fenyx Rising on different difficulty levels, so that doesn’t have to be a problem!
It’s obvious Ubisoft Quebec had a ton of fun making up the puzzles and situations in the game and it’s clear that they drew a lot of inspiration from the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
If you like the open world, adventure genre then Immortals: Fenyx Rising could be just the game for you I’m off to do some more exploring!
The base game is not currently on sale in North America, but the Gold Edition, which includes the season pass and in-game content, is. It’s the other way around for Europe, with the base game and season pass on sale.

Lil’ Guardsman
In this deduction adventure, you play as Lil – an unlikely 12-year-old hero – covering your dad’s shift at the guard shed and are tasked with deciding the fate of over 100 unique characters.
You will question humans, elves, goblins, cyclopses, and other fantasy creatures using your powers of deduction to determine who to admit or deny based on how they respond to your questions and your trusty tools. Sending visitors to jail, inadvertently zapping them to smithereens, or letting them go on their merry way are all part of the job. But be careful: who you let through the castle gates will determine the kingdom’s fate.

I thoroughly enjoyed Lil’ Guardsman, and I’ll enjoy it for a while longer while I get more endings. Meanwhile, I’ll recommend it several times to the same people until they finally decide enough is enough and try it themselves. It’s that good.

Mr Sun’s Hatbox
Mr Sun’s Hatbox is a slapstick, rogue-lite platformer about getting the job done at all costs. The dastardly Mr Moon and his troublemakers have stolen Mr Sun’s hatbox delivery from a humble courier company. With the fate of an aspiring apparel business at stake, it’s up to you to build a team, stage a series of heists, and get it back.
James went searching for Mr Sun’s Hatbox, concluding:
Mr Sun’s Hatbox is a highly addictive mix of action and management rolled into an amusing premise. It’s a game that keeps on giving the more you put into it. The difficulty is pretty high, especially with the negative perks you have to fight against. But with the regular trickling in of content, there was always an incentive to return for another run.
The biggest appeal by far was enjoying the game in short bursts, even though many sessions lasted longer if time allowed. Co-op is also a very welcome feature. I highly recommend this title, even if you’re tired of the rogue-lite formula. This one truly reworks the formula from the familiar action others tend to follow. The greatest lesson I learned from the game is the importance of taking out good insurance.

Yvonne liked Pixel Cafe a lot, concluding:
Pixel Cafe is a challenging time-management strategy game. The farther I got in, the more difficult the levels were, having to do them repeatedly. I felt the controls on the Switch weren’t always logical, and I just couldn’t manage the right sequence in time to keep the customers happy.
The storyline is nice, the soundtrack is good, and if you don’t mind the challenge, then this is a very good management game. Not for every moment of the day, though, as you need to feel fresh and energetic to beat the levels!
The base game isn’t on discount in North America, but Pixel Cafe Complete Edition, containing all the DLCs, is.
