Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets Collector’s Edition is a hidden-object game. They are a dime a dozen, so let’s see if this one can stand out, or if it’s just another in the crowd.
The Gameplay and Story
Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets is a story about a ghost hunter. You are trying to help a woman who has bought a haunted house to figure out the mystery of why the dead still hang around the manor. You need first to solve puzzles, find clues, and unlock doors to get to the heart of this mystery and help this house to give up the ghost.

Like all hidden object games, Mystery of Myths and Lost and Found Agency, for example, you mostly click around to find hidden object scenes, study objects up close, look at locks, and things of that nature to open more locations inside the house. There are several levels of difficulty in Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets, including one for newbies, a medium difficulty, and a very challenging version.
So What Makes Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets Different?
If you’ve played one hidden object game, you’ve played them all. The vast majority of these games feel like copy-and-paste gameplay with a new skin over the top. I was expecting Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets to be the same.

Turns out, the puzzles are pretty much the same, but the story for this one is actually pretty interesting. I liked some of the jumpscares that were hidden among the objects you can click on; it feels like the developers actually put in a little time thinking about how to make Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets feel spooky and a little different.
The Pros and Cons of Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets
If you enjoy all the other hidden object games out there, and you like things that are a little spooky, you’ll love Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets Collector’s Edition. It’s a ghost-filled, haunted version of every other game like this you have seen. The hint system is pretty good, the music and ambient noise is great, and I liked the vibes it was giving off.

I found a couple of the puzzles to be particularly silly. For example, there is a pile of luggage blocking the stairs in the very beginning, and you need an object to help you move them instead of just picking up the luggage one at a time. This kind of thing drives me crazy in these hidden object games, but it is par for the course in the genre.
For the most part, the game is uniquely spooky, has interesting puzzles, and is a very fun hidden object mystery game with a great story.
But the AI…
I know I have a habit of going on an AI rant like once a week over here. But as a writer whose words have been stolen so that some massive, billion-dollar company can pretend its machines are sentient, I hate AI a lot. The fact that Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets Collector’s Edition uses AI to generate artwork is sad. It’s bad for your brain to use generative AI, bad for the environment, bad for creatives who get their work stolen, and the companies that make generative AI bots are not great in my opinion.

Any game that uses it for artwork, writing, or idea generation is immediately less cool to me, regardless of how the AI is used or how fun the game is. That is my opinion; however, if this does not bother you, then you will probably enjoy Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets Collector’s Edition more than I did.
Conclusion
Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets Collector’s Edition is a fine game in the genre. I liked a lot of what the developers did in it; I found the jumpscares, the story, and the puzzles to be fun. If it didn’t utilize generative AI, I would have liked it quite a bit. If you enjoy the genre and the AI doesn’t bother you, you will like Mystery Phantoms: Ghostly Secrets Collector’s Edition!
Final Verdict: I’m Not Sure.
