It’s time to take a look at the upcoming Switch and Switch 2 games that are being newly released on our favourite handhelds, the Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2. You can check the Nintendo website for games that will play on both the original Switch and the Switch 2. Plus, we also feature Upcoming Steam Games for those of you who prefer gaming on Steam!
Upcoming Switch and Switch 2 Games
Not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games. You can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Nintendo website.
Irem Collection Volume 3 Switch 1 – July 1st
ININ is back with Volume 3 of the IREM Collection, delivering a trio of fantastical shoot ’em ups! This time, it’s magic, machines, and mayhem.
Three fantasy horizontal shoot ’em ups from IREM’s arcade vault – Mr. Heli, Mystic Riders, and Dragon Breed, all in one explosive collection!
James reviewed IREM Collection Volume 3 and said this in his conclusion:
Irem Collection Volume 3 doesn’t overwhelm with volume, but what it offers is top-tier arcade action. Each game is a strong representative of its genre, showcasing different creative approaches to horizontal shooting. Whether it’s the magic-and-monsters of Mystic Riders, the dragon-riding spectacle of Dragon Breed, or the charming exploration of Mr. Heli, there’s something here for every retro fan.
While some may be disappointed by the lack of extras or a small game count, the quality and polish of the included titles make Irem Collection Volume 3 a worthy addition to any Switch library. Arcade fans, in particular, will find plenty to love.
Into the Emberlands Switch 1 – July 2nd
As the chosen Lightbearer, you are equipped with a lantern fueled by a light-bringing ember, allowing you to venture out into the Miasma. Bring back the lost Knacks and collect resources to rebuild and expand your village! But be aware: If the ember lantern fades, you’ll become lost in Miasma yourself until the next bearer of light finds you.
ISLANDERS: New Shores Switch 1 – July 10th
The next chapter in the beloved minimalist city-building franchise is here. ISLANDERS: New Shores invites you back to a world of tranquil creativity, now reimagined with expanded gameplay, stunning visuals, and a host of fresh features that build on the charm of the original.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer, prepare to explore, build, and strategise like never before.
Laurane reviewed the game and liked it a lot, saying in conclusion:
Honestly, I don’t have any complaints about Islanders: New Shores. It delivers on all fronts: gameplay, visuals, and sound design. It fully captured my attention, and the experience was more than pleasant.
It’s the kind of game you open “just for 10 minutes” and find yourself playing an hour later.
So I guess… they did it again!
Flora & Fang: Guardians of the vampire garden Switch 1 – July 10th
Flora & Fang: Guardians of the Vampire Garden is a single-player or local co-op adventure that puts you in the shoes of one of two lovable vampire siblings, Flora or Fang, as they embark on a mission to safeguard their dad—the infamous Dracula’s—precious pumpkin garden.
Jump, run, spray insects with bug spray, strategically place traps, and coordinate with your co-op partner to repel waves of bothersome bugs in a variety of single-screen stages. The vampire garden’s future depends on you!
James reviewed Flora & Fang: Guardians of the Vampire Garden and said this in his conclusion:
Flora & Fang: Guardians of the vampire garden is a sweet little arcade gem that delivers on its promise of fast-paced fun and quirky charm. Whether solo or with a co-op partner, it’s an enjoyable and surprisingly deep experience for the genre. It may not look like much at first glance, but stick with it and you’ll uncover an addictive loop full of cute chaos, clever mechanics, and lots of bug-squashing goodness.
Donkey Kong Bananza Switch 2 – July 17th
Join the unlikely duo of Donkey Kong and Pauline as they smash their way through a vast underground world in Donkey Kong Bananza.
Bash through just about anything with the raw power of Donkey Kong! Crash through walls, carve tunnels with your fists, punch straight down into the ground, and even tear off chunks of terrain to swing around and throw – the more you smash, the more secrets you’ll open up to explore.
Lynne reviewed Donkey Kong Bananza and said in her conclusion:
Donkey Kong Bananza is a truly magnificent game. There are some lovely nods to the classic Donkey Kong games, and obvious vibes from other Nintendo franchises.
For someone who no longer enjoys relentless platforming, Donkey Kong Bananza brings together so many of my new gaming passions: the ability to bash and smash through the terrain, collecting everything which is revealed; large areas of land to roam and explore, spotting NPCs with a quest; and puzzling arenas to test my observation skills in finding that final hidden banandium gem. I can even harvest some vegetables!
For some Donkey Kong purists, the Bananza transformations might be a change too far, but for me, Donkey Kong Bananza is a ground-breaking winner.
The Wandering Village Switch 1 – July 17th
In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth, emitting toxic spores as they grow, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call ‘Onbu’.
Become their leader, build their settlement, and form a symbiotic relationship with Onbu so that they can survive together in this hostile yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world.
A functioning village is the basis of your survival. Build your settlement and expand it over Onbu’s back. Plan production chains and optimise them to utilise the limited space as efficiently as possible. Create a society that can overcome any challenge.
Misc. A Tiny Tale Switch 1 – July 22nd
Meet Buddy and Bag Boy – two tiny robots with big hearts and an even bigger mission: spreading joy wherever they go! After a mysterious explosion, golden cogs and trash rain from the sky, and the duo must work together to restore each village and uncover the secret behind the blast. Scrub mess, collect trash, and lend a helping hand as you explore a familiar world from a tiny perspective.
Beneath the surface lies a touching tale that deepens as you meet new bots. From UFOs and secret lovers to unlikely heroes and dancing instruments, you’ll discover a world full of quirky characters with stories worth hearing.

While Chibi Robo seems to have sadly faded into the background, Misc. A Tiny Tale feels like a hopeful continuation of its legacy. And it’s not just a nostalgic nod, it’s a lovingly crafted adventure in its own right, with a modern polish and a heartfelt message.
The game plays smoothly on the SteamDeck and probably equally smooth on the Switch. Misc. A Tiny Tale celebrates the joy of helping others and finding wonder in exploration and finding the small things: they might seem unimportant but not so to someone out there!
Wild Hearts S Switch 2 – July 25th
Hunt giant beasts using a variety of Karakuri tech, now with up to 3 teammates! Fight back against giant nature-infused beasts. As a hunter, you will face off against beasts that have endured the blazing lava, raging blizzards, and rising miasma plaguing the harsh lands of Azuma. These beasts, known as Kemono, embody the very essence of nature in all its beauty and ferocity. The key to surviving the fight lies in joining forces with comrades and wielding Karakuri technology.
