Passion Project Koko’s Cafe

Sometimes a background story about the developer behind a game just catches my interest, which brings me to Koko’s Cafe. The game is a passion project that started as a summer hobby when PluviiArt was just 15. Now approaching high school graduation, the young developer aims to release the game before heading off to college in the Summer of 2025.

In this coming-of-age visual novel, you brew coffee and build connections, inspired by games like Coffee Talk and Tavern Talk. You play as a newly hired barista on a tropical island, where you’ll mix drinks, chat with customers, and uncover their personal stories. Koko’s Cafe features charming hand-drawn visuals and a heartfelt narrative about the challenges of growing up.

A young woman with short pink hair, glasses, and a thoughtful expression sits at a wooden counter in a cozy café with large windows overlooking a serene seaside view. In front of her is a cup, a milk carton, and a metal pitcher, suggesting a drink preparation sequence. The player is given the option to "Serve" or go "Back." The warm atmosphere and soft lighting enhance the relaxed and inviting mood of the scene. Published on: LadiesGamers.

As the conductor ferrying them between stations and fulfilling their requests, you will reconnect towns and forge new connections filled with humorous conversation.
  • Craft A Dream Train: it’s a vehicle for creativity, so you can personalise your train wagons into cosy, classy, or even chaotic spaces. From painting walls and pasting wallpaper to collecting resources and finding blueprints to craft furniture, you can get busy decorating to design your ultimate locomotive.

A mouse-like character wearing a pink bandana and a brown vest holds a cardboard box while standing on the wooden floor. Through the window, a charming town building with a red roof is visible. The user interface displays placement options and an inventory bar. Published on: LadiesGamers.

Demo for Yokai Fantasy Life Sim Tales of Seikyu

The first downloadable demo for Tales of Seikyu, a Yokai-inspired fantasy life sim, is also a part of this Steam Next Fest. The demo lets you experience the first three in-game days—about 60 to 90 minutes of gameplay—where you can meet the villagers, try out farming, fishing, crafting, and decorating, and complete the opening quests. In Tales of Seikyu, you’ll build a peaceful life on a mystical island filled with adventure, magic, and romance. Using your Yokai powers, you can manage your farm, explore the world, and grow close to the island’s unique inhabitants while uncovering its many secrets. The game is set to launch in Steam Early Access later this spring.

A charming and slightly chaotic hidden object game where it’s your mission to find 500 cats hiding across five hand-drawn dinosaur-themed locations. It promises to be a cosy adventure with relaxing music, lots of meows and customisable colours.

Tinkertown Switch Release Date

Crafting multiplayer sandbox game Tinkertown has a release date on Switch: March 10th 2025. James reviewed the game on Steam a year ago and liked his experience. He did encounter some small bugs, which have probably been ironed out by now!

The interface displays the inventory, equipment stats, and crafting menu, with options like a workbench and wooden planks available. Foraging Real Plants in Out and About

Cosy foraging adventure Out and About is coming to Steam in Q2 2025, with console releases after that. In the game, you’ll explore the wild surroundings of Portobello, a small town recovering from a storm. As you forage for real-life plants and fungi, you’ll learn about sustainability, cook over 150 recipes, and connect with the community. The game’s open world includes forests, grasslands, beaches, and wetlands, all waiting to be explored. Plus, you can customize your character with different outfits and hairstyles.

Now I like my gardening games, so this seems like a treat to find out about real plants. Out and About by Yaldi Games has a demo available now, offering over 40 minutes of gameplay, which is also a part of the Steam Next Fest in February.

If you enjoy Metroidvania-style challenges and rich, story-driven adventures, The Little Brave is now available on Steam.
