Looking for some fun with friends? As part of the Steam Next Fest, you can download the demo for Mischief. Mischief is an upcoming action-adventure co-op game that puts you in the tiny paws of mischievous rats exploring a lively neighborhood. Developed by Tavern Rat Studios, the game supports up to four players in local multiplayer, offering creative challenges and fun interactions with everyday objects like crayons and ketchup.
You’ll take on imaginative bosses such as Shovul: Scourge of the Sandbox and Oscar: Pup of the Pit, tackle platforming challenges, and solve puzzles that require teamwork. There’s also a variety of minigames, including a tricky race course and a shooting gallery. With over 100 achievements to unlock, Mischief promises plenty of playful chaos.
Featuring vibrant 3D visuals and an immersive soundtrack, this charming adventure is sure to bring back the joy of co-op gaming with a modern twist. A release date is yet to be announced, but you can give it a try in the demo in the Steam Store.

Passion Project Koko’s Cafe
Sometimes a background story about the developer behind a game just catches my interest, which brings me to Koko’s Cafe. The game is a passion project that started as a summer hobby when PluviiArt was just 15. Now approaching high school graduation, the young developer aims to release the game before heading off to college in the Summer of 2025.
In this coming-of-age visual novel, you brew coffee and build connections, inspired by games like Coffee Talk and Tavern Talk. You play as a newly hired barista on a tropical island, where you’ll mix drinks, chat with customers, and uncover their personal stories. Koko’s Cafe features charming hand-drawn visuals and a heartfelt narrative about the challenges of growing up.

Demo for Locomoto
Cosy train life sim Locomoto has a demo up during Steam Next Fest which is currently taking place until March 3rd. In this demo for the passion project, you will be able to:
- Reconnect The World: the world of Locomoto needs connection, and in the demo, you will meet an array of quirky passengers to befriend, each with unique stories. As the conductor ferrying them between stations and fulfilling their requests, you will reconnect towns and forge new connections filled with humorous conversation.
- Craft A Dream Train: it’s a vehicle for creativity, so you can personalise your train wagons into cosy, classy, or even chaotic spaces. From painting walls and pasting wallpaper to collecting resources and finding blueprints to craft furniture, you can get busy decorating to design your ultimate locomotive.
- Listen To An Original Lofi Soundtrack which promises a stress-free environment.
- Customise Their Conductor: With a lot of eye-catching character customisation options and a wardrobe brimming with jazzy, cute and vibrant choices, you can dress up your conductor and unlock new outfits to express your unique style.

Demo for Yokai Fantasy Life Sim Tales of Seikyu
The first downloadable demo for Tales of Seikyu, a Yokai-inspired fantasy life sim, is also a part of this Steam Next Fest. The demo lets you experience the first three in-game days—about 60 to 90 minutes of gameplay—where you can meet the villagers, try out farming, fishing, crafting, and decorating, and complete the opening quests. You’ll also get a glimpse of the game’s transformation mechanics by discovering your first Yokai form.
In Tales of Seikyu, you’ll build a peaceful life on a mystical island filled with adventure, magic, and romance. Using your Yokai powers, you can manage your farm, explore the world, and grow close to the island’s unique inhabitants while uncovering its many secrets. The game is set to launch in Steam Early Access later this spring.

Find 500 Cats in Cats & Seek: Dino Park
Do you like hidden animals games? Then Cats & Seek: Dino Park might interest you, coming to Xbox on March 5th and PlayStation and Switch on March 6th.
A charming and slightly chaotic hidden object game where it’s your mission to find 500 cats hiding across five hand-drawn dinosaur-themed locations. It promises to be a cosy adventure with relaxing music, lots of meows and customisable colours.
And don’t forget to check out the myriad of other Hidden Animals games out there!

Tinkertown Switch Release Date
Crafting multiplayer sandbox game Tinkertown has a release date on Switch: March 10th 2025. James reviewed the game on Steam a year ago and liked his experience. He did encounter some small bugs, which have probably been ironed out by now!

Foraging Real Plants in Out and About
Cosy foraging adventure Out and About is coming to Steam in Q2 2025, with console releases after that. In the game, you’ll explore the wild surroundings of Portobello, a small town recovering from a storm. As you forage for real-life plants and fungi, you’ll learn about sustainability, cook over 150 recipes, and connect with the community. The game’s open world includes forests, grasslands, beaches, and wetlands, all waiting to be explored. Plus, you can customize your character with different outfits and hairstyles.
Now I like my gardening games, so this seems like a treat to find out about real plants. Out and About by Yaldi Games has a demo available now, offering over 40 minutes of gameplay, which is also a part of the Steam Next Fest in February.

Sokoban-Style Puzzler Slip n’ Sime
A new Sokoban-style puzzler, Slip n’ Slime, is coming to Steam, expected in June 2025. The game features retro-inspired pixel art and a colourful fantasy world. Slip n’ Slime challenges you to slide a squishy slime across different biomes, solving puzzles along the way. With unlimited moves and no time constraints, it’s a relaxing but still engaging experience for both newcomers and seasoned puzzle fans.
With over 100 handcrafted levels, Slip n’ Slime introduces new mechanics as you progress, from moving boxes to covering traps to resizing your slime to access hidden areas. If you make a wrong move, don’t worry, you can easily reset or rewind to try again. The game also features fun, bouncy sound effects to enhance the experience.
If you want to give it a try, there’s a demo available on Steam.

Metroidvania The Little Brave
The Little Brave, a 2D action-adventure Metroidvania from independent developer Dmitrii Batov, is now available on Steam. The game follows Keely, a young boy on a quest to restore the lost magic of his world, which a dark curse has consumed.
Armed with melee weapons, ranged attacks, and mythic magic, Keely has to battle sinister foes, solve intricate puzzles, and evade dangerous traps. His journey takes him deep into forbidden lands, where he faces powerful wardens and unearths the secrets of a legendary past. Along the way, he must also rescue his younger sister, Weyka, while preparing for an ultimate showdown against the force threatening his homeland.
If you enjoy Metroidvania-style challenges and rich, story-driven adventures, The Little Brave is now available on Steam.
