Coffee Caravan Release Date
Ondrej Simecek from Broccolli Games is developing a cosy game together with his wife, where you manage your own coffee caravan, navigate a rogue-lite map, unlock new recipes and buy new equipment. Right up our alley, of course!
They are happy to announce the game is coming to Steam on May 20th, 2024, and of course, it fits well with our logo of the coffee cup.
Here’s the description:
“Fuel your coffee passion in Coffee Caravan! As a cafe manager, brew, experiment with delicious recipes, and build your dream coffee business on wheels. Serve customers, unlock new flavours, purchase appliances, and enjoy your procedurally generated road trip in this rogue-lite experience.”
Spirit of the Island Coming to Mobile
Remember Spirit of the Island? I reviewed the farming and crafting simulation game last year and liked it, though there were some rough edges. But it had a ton of content!
The good news is that Spirit of the Island, which is already available on all consoles and Steam, is coming to mobile as well. The current launch date is set to be July 16th. Extra nice that the mobile version on Google Play and AppStore will support crossplay as well, so you can play with your friends regardless of the platform they are on! You can pre-register today in the AppStore. and on Google Play.
Golden Week Sale Koei Tecmo
It doesn’t happen often, so an extra reason to pay attention. Koei Tecmo Europe has a sale going on. And for me what stood out is that loads of Atelier games are 35% off, including Atelier Ryza 3! The first Atelier Ryza game is even 60% off, and Atelier Ryza 2 is 50% off. This means, of course, the digital versions are on sale in the eShop and on Steam as well.

Hexguardian Combines Roguelite with Tower Defense
Hexguardian, the new game from indie developer Split Second Games and publisher Yogscast Games, is now available on Steam. This title blends the high-stakes fun of rogue-lite gameplay with the strategic depth of classic tower defence and innovative city-building elements. Set in a visually captivating, modular hexagon-shaped world that spans various biomes, players have to expand their kingdom while protecting it from relentless enemy waves by land and sea.
You can strategically shape the terrain, place defenders, and construct towers to ensure the safety of their realm. Hexguardian is priced at £9.99 / $11.99 / €11.79 and promises a unique blend of anxiety-inducing fun and creative strategic planning. Wingspan Special Edition on Switch
Monster Couch has teamed up with Maximum Entertainment to bring the beloved board game Wingspan to Nintendo Switch in a new Wingspan Special Edition.
This relaxing strategy card game lets players attract and manage a diverse array of birds in their wildlife preserves. It’s still one of CJ’s favourite reviews to date, as you can read here. The special edition includes three DLC packs: the European Expansion, Oceania Expansion, and the Seasonal Decorate Pack, enriching the game with new features and challenges. Wingspan Special Edition is currently available for pre-order from several retailers.
Update for Dadoo: Twists, Turns and Mischiefs
When Valerie checked out Dadoo: Twists, Turns and Mischiefs, she liked it, saying, “All signs point to this being a winner of a game, from the thought-out deck system to the fun characters.”
Dadoo now has a new update on Steam and Google Playstore. There’s a new map called Wild West, a new mascot, Shaman and Botanist and a new event, the Badge Hunt event. In the Budge Hunt event, you can get badges by doing daily tasks or playing in our new Wild West map. When you collect a certain number of badges, you can get various bonuses from free coins to mascot, or even the new rare card Electromagnet.
Added to all that, you’ll also find new skins for Fisherman, Joker, and Police Officer, an in-game chat feature and a friend feature. To celebrate the update, the game is on sale on Steam with a 25% discount till May 10th ($3.74 instead of $ 4.99)
Cozy Into the Emberlands with Rogue-Lite Twist
Get ready to illuminate the darkness in Into the Emberlands, an upcoming cosy exploration game with a rogue-lite twist. Developed by Tiny Roar in Hamburg, Germany, this game invites players to take on the role of the Lightbearer, equipped with a radiant Ember-filled lantern. Set in a world overtaken by a mysterious darkness called the Miasma, your mission is to navigate through various biomes, rescue the lost Knacks, and bring them back to safety. As you explore, collect resources to rebuild and expand your village into a sanctuary for the Knacks.
Scheduled for release on Steam Early Access this summer, Into the Emberlands challenges players to maintain their lantern’s light; failure to do so means becoming lost yourself, passing the mantle to the next Lightbearer. This game promises an engaging mix of adventure and strategy, perfect for players who enjoy a gentle narrative combined with meaningful gameplay challenges. Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles Free Update
In the Wired Direct 2024, the all-new free update for Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles, was revealed. Lumote is a cosy puzzle platformer drenched in a truly immersive world of colour and music, as James found out when he reviewed the game. The new free co-op mode and next-gen update will provide players the chance to explore this puzzler with a friend! Dive back into Great Depths and delve into this fantastical landscape now with a friend to help along the way.
Pine Hearts Release on Switch Too
Little Nook, a division of Hyper Luminal Games, has announced that Pine Hearts, a whimsical narrative-adventure game, will be released on 23rd May for both Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. It will be priced at £15.99/$19.99 on both platforms. That is good news, as initially, it was set for a PC-only release. However, in a way, the game would already be available on handheld, as when I played the demo, it was doing fine on the Steam Deck.
Pine Hearts offers a heartwarming experience that acts as a comforting love letter to those who have faced loss. You can look forward to exploring the charming Pine Hearts Caravan Park, filled with engaging characters, enjoyable activities, and serene locales. In the game, players step into the wee boots of Tyke, going on an adventure enriched with light puzzles, heartfelt encounters, and a touching story about love, life, and family. A new trailer has also been released, giving a glimpse into the game’s inviting world.
Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery Coming
Following the success of Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic, the developers have announced a new title. Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery builds on the features of its predecessor and offers a cosy, engaging experience. The family-friendly game has 2D interactive landscapes and beautifully hand-drawn items.
The new game invites players of all ages to journey through enchanting eras, including Noir, Victorian, and Sci-Fi. It includes a creative Map Editor for crafting and sharing custom maps, as well as the returning Reality Shift feature, allowing time and season adjustments to deepen the exploration. Look out for Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and mobile platforms (Android, iOS) soon.
New Soundtrack for APICO Bee-Parture
In anticipation of the final free update, 4.0: A Hive of Industry, for the beekeeping sim APICO, a brand new original soundtrack titled APICO Bee-parture will be released by Mothense. It will enhance the game’s relaxing vibe, with 11 new chill tunes. The soundtrack is perfect for accompanying players as they engage in foraging, crafting, breeding, and raising bees.
Fans can look forward to streaming the new music on popular platforms like Steam, Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, and YouTube Music starting May 7th, just ahead of the update’s launch. The update, A Hive of Industry, will introduce a new automation system, new seasonal events, new craftable materials, and, best of all, pets! All this and more will be available to players on PC and Nintendo Switch on May 20th.
Genso Manège Coming to Steam and Switch
Magical romance is coming in the upcoming Otome visual novel, Genso Manège, on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Dive into the dream-like fantasy world of Emma, a young woman striving to reclaim her magical powers and lost memories after an accident. Set in a culturally rich town near the French border, Genso Manège features a magical travelling amusement park where Emma and a cast of unique characters, including six different male leads, are trapped.
Each character route offers a chance to uncover secrets and deepen connections in a world painted with dazzling pastel visuals. The novel includes magical mini-games through the Éveil System, an enjoyable game mechanic woven into the story to help you recover Emma’s magical abilities. The characters are voice acted to add depth to this unforgettable, bittersweet tale of love and friendship. There’s no release date yet.
Former Kickstarter Everafter Falls Has a Release Date
Funded on Kickstarter after a very successful campaign, Everafter Falls has now officially set its launch date for June 20th. This game will be available simultaneously across all major platforms. You’ll be able to enjoy it on PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG—with Linux and MacOS versions accessible via Steam—as well as on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and both PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles.
Fellow Traveller Announced Lineup LudoNarraCon
Narrative games publisher Fellow Traveller has announced the lineup for LudoNarraCon 2024. The digital narrative games convention, set to take place on Steam from May 9th – 13th, will feature over 20 new and updated demos. There will be eight upcoming titles from Fellow Traveller, including five brand new demos: Pine: A Story of Loss, Great God Grove, Afterlove EP, Nirvana Noir, and Wander Stars.
As this festival showcases 50+ narrative games, it offers a unique opportunity for you to explore some of the most anticipated indie narrative games, with access to the demos extended until May 16th.
