It was a busy week in cosy-gaming land, with fresh announcements, new demos to dip into and a couple of big updates worth checking out.
A charming new visual novel is on the horizon with Spirit Talk, while Lost and Found Co. hits a small delay and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream finally locks in its release date. If you’re in the mood to try something hands‑on, both Grandpa’s Bee Haven and TownsFolk now offer demos. Over in live games, Luma Islandhas unlocked all its seasonal content, and Everdream Village rolls out Update 1.8. And if you’re feeling creative, there’s even a chance to show off your outdoor designs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Release Date Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
Nintendo’s latest Direct has finally given us a proper look at Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. A major hit back then on the 3DS, and now coming to your Switch. You can jump in from 16 April on Nintendo Switch, with full support for Nintendo Switch 2 as well.
You’ll be creating Miis based on anyone you like, shaping everything from their quirks to their living spaces, then watching them wander around an island where the odd and unexpected seem to be the norm. I loved it when I played the game on my 3DS, and enjoyed bringing the Mii of my family members and friends into the game. I even paid homage to my deceased father.
Because time moves in real‑time, the game encourages you to drop in daily to see what friendships form, what dramas unfold and what strange thoughts your residents feel like sharing.
You can build Miis in two ways — either by answering prompts or crafting them entirely from scratch — and the expanded options, including new face parts and face paint, let you create some wonderfully imaginative characters. Once they’re settled, you can nudge them into conversations, pair them up as roommates or simply watch their personalities bounce off each other.
The island itself will be a lively playground, which is bigger than the one on the 3DS, with more shops and businesses. You’ll browse quirky shops, redecorate rooms, follow Mii‑made news broadcasts and snap photos at the local studio. The Palette House Workshop adds another creative layer, letting you design pets, drinks, clothing, house exteriors and even original items to brighten up your island.
You can also reshape the island layout with new decorations, move buildings around and give each Mii extra individuality through custom poses, habits and favourite phrases.

Demo for Idler Grandpa’s Bee Haven
Idler games are getting more and more popular, it seems. We’ve already covered several on LadiesGamer,s and here’s another upcoming one.
Grandpa’s Bee Haven looks like a cosy 2D beekeeping management game where you build and run your own hives, gather honey, upgrade your tools, and slowly grow a warm little community around you. You can expect something wholesome, easy to pick up, and pleasantly laid‑back.
You’ll be able to try it on Windows and Mac as there’s a demo available.

Spirit Talk – Cozy Visual Novel Announced
With a planned release in 2026, Spirit Talk – Cozy Visual Novel looks like a cosy, heart‑warming visual novel where you step into a magical shop and help spirits find peace. You’ll follow more than five intertwined stories, meet over ten charming characters, and explore a gentle fantasy world.
You join Julia on the grand opening of her spiritual agency, where years of training finally pay off as she learns to summon spirits and guide them through their unfinished business. Each story offers multiple endings, so you’ll find yourself returning again and again to see where different choices lead.
Between warm chats and lo‑fi beats, you’ll craft potions to restore lost memories and unlock key moments from each spirit’s past. It’s not just about talking—your potion‑making skills become essential as you uncover personal stories one potion at a time, all within a calm and cosy atmosphere perfect for unwinding.

Luma Island Update Unlocks All Seasonal Content
Update 1.1.6 is at the ready for Luma Island. And it’s a good one, with the usual bug fixes, and it also unlocks all seasonal content year-round. Plus, a new Magnetic Chest is added, automatically gathering all the random stuff your lumas and pigs keep digging up.
Here’s the message from developer Feel Free Games
“Hello Adventurers,
Listen, we need to talk about your farm. It’s gotten a little messier recently, hasn’t it? Well, that’s on us… we’re the ones who made your Lumas dig up loot in the first place. So please allow us to fix the problem we created with a shiny new Magnetic Chest. It attracts all the random stuff your Lumas and Pigs keep digging up – thanks to the power of… um… *checks notes*… magnetism? Magnetism? That doesn’t even make sense. It’s really just a fancy vacuum cleaner, but for your (animal) loot. We think you’re gonna ❤️ it.
Hey, do you remember those seasonal items you missed out on because you were too busy playing other games? The ones we locked behind calendar dates like some kind of sadistic time-gated torture? Yeah, so we’ve had a change of heart. Everything is unlocked now. Forever and ever. Can we all agree to call it a belated holiday miracle, please? (Rather than us caving under pressure from you guys?) Either way, it’s all yours to keep. Yeah, you’re welcome. 😊
Also included in this update: bug fixes and other improvements. You know, the usual.”

Everdream Village Update 1.8 is Live
The latest Everdream Village update 1.8 is live. It invites you to step inside the cosy Grandparents’ home for the first time and make it your own. You’ll start a new furnishing quest—just pop over to Emil—and you can now buy a range of new furniture and decorations directly from him.
You also get a handy new feature: Animal Trading. If your cows have… expanded their numbers a bit too enthusiastically, you can now sell them to the Merchant. Just give your animals a pet, head over to the Merchant, and choose “Trade Animals”.
This update for the game that is in Early Access also tidies up a long list of quests. Item counts now match what you actually use, flowers are tracked correctly, wandering animals no longer break progress, and several stuck or disappearing‑item issues have been fixed. NPC navigation is smoother, audio levels are balanced, and quest items now count whether they’re in your bag or stored away.
Around the village, you’ll notice safer crab handling (no more crashes), better boat behaviour, cleaner water tiles, and fewer spots where you or NPCs could get stuck. More animals now have icons too, making things a bit clearer as you explore.

Share Your Outdoor Landscape in ACNH
As the first of three challenges, Nintendo has invited players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons to share a landscape from their game that they enjoyed creating.
Readers shared some lovely photos. Be sure to check it out if you want to be inspired on your own getaway island!

Demo Available for TownsFolk
Pixel strategy city-builder TownsFolk, coming in 2026, has a demo live on the Steam page. Starting with just a handful of settlers, you’ll guide them as they rebuild after ruin, manage scarce resources, and carve out a thriving village in the wild. Each tile you uncover looks like it could hold risks, rewards, or story-shaping decisions, so strategy really is key.
TownsFolk will also feature in the Steam Next Fest in February and in the Indie Fan Fest as well.

Delay for Lost and Found Co.
The Steam launch of Lost and Found Co. has been moved back a few weeks, to March 6, 2026.
Though the development team has been pushing very hard, they realised they needed more time to give the game the final polish and quality it deserves. They are confident that this minor delay will result in a smoother, more polished launch and the best possible first experience for everyone jumping in on day one.
