Gaming News: Even More Indie Games Coming to Switch

It’s time for more Gaming News!  I’m gradually working through game announcements that featured in Nintendo’s latest ‘Indie World’ Direct.  For this article, I’ve chosen three indie titles and conclude with news about a cooking simulator from Aksys Games.  Let’s get to it!

Youropa

Youropa looks like a fantastic puzzle-platformer for Nintendo Switch.  The game made its way to Steam last year and in terms of user reviews, have averaged very positive.   According to the developer, it includes Gravity-defying gameplay and Mind-Bending Puzzles.

The game’s goal is to restore the scattered Youropa back to its former glory.  To accomplish this, players must “Walk upside down, on walls, in fact, anywhere you can get to.” (Offical Description).

Youropa will launch for Nintendo Switch later this year.

Cat Quest II

I’ve always been intrigued by Cat Quest.  It looks adorable and has received favourable reviews from numerous outlets.  Well, Cat Quest II is coming to Switch, and if you’re interested in trying the original, it’s currently on sale, that’s 60%, until tomorrow.

An official press release describes Cat Quest II as a “fast-paced open-world action RPG where you play as both a cat and a dog. Explore a massive world filled with monsters, dungeons, and quests, as you strive to bring peace back to your kingdoms during a time of war!”

It sounds good to me and is set to release later this year.

Sparklite

Sparklite looks like another title that’s been inspired by a particular franchise that Nintendo fans know well.  I love the pixelated art-style, and according to an official press release, it includes, “five diverse procedurally generated biomes, an abundance of mystery and challenges.”  With Puzzles and numerous Monsters, and other dangers, Sparklite may be worth a purchase when it launches later this year.

And Finally…

Okay, this isn’t an Indie game, but I’m intrigued by it.

Aksys has announced that Waku Waku Sweets will launch on Switch this winter.  The game will include more than “100 different recipes featuring tasty treats from around the world.”  It also supports other gameplay elements such as customisation options for hairstyles and clothing.

O yes, the PR claims that “[with] Joy-Con™ controllers, players can sharpen their skills using realistic motions that have been designed to mimic real-life recipes, like sifting, pouring, baking, and frosting.”

That’s quite a claim.  Is it true?  We’ll find out this winter.

That’s it for now.
