It’s that time again, time to look at this last weeks gaming news that stood out to us. This week, we have news about Switching between Switches in Animal Crossing, Ciel Fledge: Raising a daughter has been released, Lydia Donations, Mousecraft: You Gouda Get It, Giraffe and Annika are already on Steam, The Survivalist by Team 17, Puzzles and Dragons Gold present code and New Cooking Mama: CookStar.
Switching between Switches in Animal Crossing
Of course, the biggest news last week was the Animal Crossing Direct. You can’t exactly have missed how exited we are over here, the Direct showed us an amazing game. One niggle though is the game-save thingy. No cloud save! There will be a way to get your game save back when your Switch is damaged or lost. But what happens when you want to buy a new Switch and started your game on the old one?
Well, according to Nintendo on their website in the UK: “Animal Crossing New Horizons does not currently support the ability to transfer your save file from one Nintendo Switch console to another. However, a function specific to Animal Crossing: New Horizons to move users and save data to another console is planned for later this year”
On another note: where New Leaf had 333 animal characters, New Horizons will have 383 different ones to meet!
Ciel Fledge: Raising a daughter has been released
Chloe is reviewing the game for us, but I wanted to share what this special kind of game is about.
Management game Ciel Fledge is about raising an adopted daughter in a future world that still has hope. You have to take care of Ciel until she reaches adulthood and becomes ready to leave the nest.
Set in the year 3716, humanity lives under constant risk of ruin from a colossal alien threat known as “GIGANT”. Fleeing its destruction, a mysterious young girl arrives on ARK-3, a magnificent city built in the sky.
Lydia Donations
The game Lydia addresses a serious issue: children having to deal with alcoholic parents. Released 5 weeks ago on Nintendo Switch, it was very well received by the community. The grim and oniric climate perfectly fits the emotional tale of this girl who wishes for a happy childhood but can never have it.
As Evaristo mentioned in his review of the game that you have the possibility to help those who suffer in their daily life by donating via a $1/€ DLC redistributed to Fragile Childhood (A-Clinic Foundation).
Nakano io reported: “We are so grateful to communicate that almost 1000 donations were already made this way! This shows how powerful the game is as a medium to convey serious messages and motivate real changes, and it’s a fantastic display of generosity from the players community!”
If you haven’t tried the game yet, you can now buy a bundle containing both the game Lydia and the DLC in the Nintendo eShop. The content that players get from the DLC is a colouring book of monsters that Lydia can only paint with happy colours, as a metaphor to making monsters less scary both in-game and in real life.
Mousecraft: You Gouda Get It
Always fun to see something typically Dutch on-screen: Gouda cheese. The mice love it!
Studio Crunching Koalas is bringing us a fun looking game on February 27th: Discover an epic tale of a crazy cat scientist who is striving to unlock the potential of a mysterious, mice-powered machine. In Mousecraft you pile up Tetromino bricks to create a safe path for as many mice as possible.
Defeat obstacles, overcome gaps and gather collectibles by using different types of blocks. And these can be explosive, crumbling or even made from jelly. Prove your stacking skills in your own style- freeze the game by using the Active Pause feature or increase the speed any time you want.

Giraffe and Annika are already on Steam
We’ve mentioned 3D Adventure game Giraffe and Annika before on here. It will eventually make its way to the Switch, but if you can’t wait to play, it’s already released on Steam.
Guide Annika on a journey across the beautiful Spica Island, home to mysteries, collectibles, and dungeons capped with rhythm boss battles created by the lead designer of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan. Work with a cat-boy named Giraffe to collect ability-granting Star Fragments and recover her lost memories.
The Survivalist by Team 17
Team 17 have released some new details about the crafting and survival sandbox game The Survivalist. In this game you find yourself on an island that will change with day/night cycles as you explore and uncover its secrets. Hunt (or be hunted by!) animals for food and meet the local inhabitants, who aren’t necessarily pleased to see you. Get quests from a Mysterious Stranger or find them washed up on the shore. Prepare to trek into the wilderness, with a variety of biomes, for an adventure that’s unique to every player. You can even play with friends to gain loot, trade and ultimately survive together and as you and up to three fellow castaways explore an island paradise.
Team 17 adds this list of new details:
- A mimic system enables stranded players to tame and train local monkeys to help with tasks. Build shelter’s, cut down trees and defend against Orcling raids.
- Warriors, monkeys can be equipped with swords, axes or spreads to lend support and defend against the Orcling raids.
- Craftsmen, train monkeys to build weapons and tools.
- Archers, arm a monkey with a bow and arrow and they will keep wild life at a distance from your camp.
- Landscapers, Monkeys can be armed with tools to gather resources, chop down trees, mine rocks, and clear foliage
- Master a deep crafting system and overcome quests delivered by a mysterious stranger or found in bottles washed up on shore.
New Cooking Mama: CookStar
Sometime in March, the new Cooking Mama: CookStar will be released on the Switch. Cooking Mama CookStar offers over 90 incredible new recipes for players to master. The menu ranges from classic Japanese recipes to the most delicious home cooking and the culinary soul comforts of today. I do wonder how well it will play when you want to cook in handheld mode?
Puzzles and Dragons Gold present code
If you have joined Paula in playing Puzzles and Dragons Gold, you may have found that they released an update. We can’t find any notes on what it entails, but we did find a present code to use to receive 1.000 Rainbow Coins.
Here it is: AAGDQ42YGVLGCTK8
That’s it from us, have a great weekend!
