I’ve photographed dogs in Pupperazzi, and now it’s the turn of the cats in SnapCat: Mia’s Cozy Adventure.
Will this be the purr-fect cat fur-tography game or will it be a cat-astrophe?
Travelling in Search of Cats

In SnapCat: Mia’s Cozy Adventure you play as the titular character, Mia, a young photographer, who is trying to capture all the feline friends around the islands. The islands have a Mediterranean feel, and with radios playing music and ships passing in the background, there is a sense of others around, although you’ll never see anyone else.

The first island acts as a tutorial, teaching you how to take a photograph. The controls are straightforward and given on-screen. If you haven’t photographed the cat previously, a green cat face will appear on the camera screen. If you have already taken a shot, then it will be a green tick. On each of the 17 islands, there is a set number of cats to find. The early islands tend to have ten or fewer, and as you progress, the number increases towards 20 on the final island. You need to find all cats before you can move on, and if you return to an island, it will reset, and you’ll have to find all of the cats again.

Most of the cats are obvious, just sitting around. However, some are curled up and look a bit like a rock, and others might be hiding in boxes or pots. As you progress, you’ll learn a few other techniques to help Mia find those trickier felines.

The hint function in SnapCat: Mia’s Cozy Adventure is very good, and I really appreciated (and needed) it. It was in the form of an audible meow and visual lines in the direction of the missing cat.

The photos are transferred to Mia’s album, where you can view them. You can take additional photos of the same cat if you want to get a better pose, although only the last shot will appear in the album. You can name any or all of the cats you find, and you can also pet the cats.
Gameplay
The controls are straightforward, and SnapCat: Mia’s Cozy Adventure plays well in both docked and handheld modes. I didn’t have any difficulty reading the text on the Switch Lite, but there is no touchscreen functionality.
Although SnapCat: Mia’s Cozy Adventure is not a first-person game, with no adjustment for the camera movement speed, I did feel a little disoriented at times.
SnapCat: Mia’s Cozy Adventure saves after every photograph. There is no time of day, and it took me 1.5 hours to complete.
Conclusion
SnapCat: Mia’s Cozy Adventure is a snappy little hidden cats game, with the added bonus of taking photos!
Final Verdict: I Like it
