SUMMERHOUSE Arrives on Console This May

Solo developer Friedemann is bringing SUMMERHOUSE to console later this month. The small‑scale building game will launch on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox on 15 May 2026. The PC version will also become available via the Microsoft Store with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

SUMMERHOUSE originally released on Steam in March 2024, where it established itself as a quiet, creative sandbox experience.

A Building Game Shaped By Freedom

SUMMERHOUSE presents a building experience without objectives, timers, or win conditions. The setup centres on placing pre‑made architectural elements into a chosen environment, allowing you to assemble houses, streets, or small settlements at your own pace. There are no imposed goals or optimisation systems. Instead, the focus appears to be on arranging shapes, colours, and depth in ways that feel visually satisfying.

As I described in my review here on LadiesGamers, the game offers a selection of landscapes and building blocks rather than an overwhelming toolset. Creative play is encouraged within gentle boundaries, whether that results in a single structure or a small cluster of buildings.

Overall you could say SUMMERHOUSE is closer to a creative toy than a traditional city builder.

The console release retains the same environments introduced on PC, which is good news as I rated it with our highest score, Two Thumbs Up.
