Twistingo: Blue Moon is a beautiful hidden-object game in which you solve puzzles, collect coins, and use them to upgrade and fix the tropical island of Lunara, which is affected by a mysterious snowstorm.

We’ve covered a few of the Twistingo games before. You can find the reviews here – Twistingo: Bird Paradise Collector’s, Twistingo: Turtle Bay, and Twistingo: Hummingbird Haven.

The Premise of Twistingo: Blue Moon Collector’s Edition

Twistingo: Blue Moon follows the formula of the other Twistingo games. We have a picturesque tropical island that was hit by a disaster, in this case, a big snowstorm, turning it into a frozen wonderland. We are tasked with breaking the snow curse upon the island and returning it to its former glory. To do that, we play different puzzle games.

Gameplay

In Twistingo: Blue Moon, we have a variety of puzzle games – finding objects, finding pairs of objects, variations of bingo, removing titles, solitaire, and another game of finding pairs, but using mahjong tiles.

There are three game modes: relaxed, normal, and extreme. I played in relaxed mode for this review, but you can change the mode at any point during the game in the settings menu.

The games are relatively easy, and even though there is a hint button, you won’t need it much, if at all. The whole game took me less than 4 hours to complete. It is a relaxing experience; there is no timer. The artwork is beautiful and, more importantly, clear, as you won’t wonder what a particular object looks like.

There is a variety of collectables during the game – you collect tiles and coins for upgrades around the island and moonstones to recover the ancient artefact from breaking the snow curse and pieces of the map of the island. At any point in the game, you can go to the game room and play to make more coins and buy the upgrades mentioned above.

Since this is a Collector’s edition, we also have access to additional mini-games, the soundtrack, a gallery, collectables and the intro animation.

The World of Twistingo: Blue Moon

One of the more often mentioned critiques of the previous games was the somewhat awkward animation for the skip scenes – static pictures of people with their mouths moving. Here, we have a slightly upgraded version of that, with the occasional blinking and there. It still looks strange, albeit a little better overall.

Other than that, the rest of the game looks as gorgeous as the other games in the series—the artwork is once again beautiful and clear, and the music is great. I didn’t see any bugs or lags, and the controls were smooth and responsive.

Halfway there.

Conclusion

Twistingo: Blue Moon Collector’s Edition is a pleasant addition to the Twistingo games. While it’s nowhere near groundbreaking, it offers a few hours of casual fun for fans of the hidden object games.

Final Verdict: I Like it. I like it
