Welcome. At LadiesGamers, we are all about indie games, so we thought it was time to bring you a list of Steam games to be released each month. So, aside from our Upcoming Switch Games, it’s time to look at Steam’s upcoming new release games. This one is for December 2022.
Not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games. You can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Steam website.
The Heart of the Teddy Bear – December 2nd
Immerse yourself in a relaxed, wintry adventure of emotions and accompany the teddy bear in his search for his child and his purpose in life. After falling out of Santa’s sleigh, you’ll start in a desolate winter forest and make your way alone to your destination.
On your journey, you meet new acquaintances; through them, you get to know life and feelings that help you see the world with different eyes. Thus, your world slowly begins to become more colourful.
Kynseed – December 6th
A beautiful Life Sim Sandbox RPG. Raise a family, farm the land, run a business, cook, craft and build an everlasting legacy in a vast world filled with adventure, creativity and meaningful choices.
Live your life in a world where everyone ages and dies, including your pets! Take control of the mystical Kynseed and grow your family legacy over generations as you pass your skills and powers down to your children.
I reviewed Kynseed and gave it a score of I Like it a Lot.
Kynseed is a great game to get lost in for hours. With an entire cast of weird and wacky NPC to keep you company. Plenty of mini-games to play and a large world to explore; there is always something to do in Quill.
Zombie Cure Lab Early Access – December 7th
Brain-munching zombies rule the world. After years of research, brave scientists have finally found an antidote that reverses the zombification progress, creating zombie-human hybrids. Find the final cure for humanity and build the perfect zombie curing facility.
In this sandbox lab builder, you’ll lead a team of scientists in curing – not killing! – the mindless zombies attacking your base. Cured zombies will help your scientists expand your facilities, gather resources and research new technologies.
I previewed Zombie Cure Lab and said this in my final thoughts.
Zombie Cure Lab is a fun game; with some fine tweaking and minor adjustments for balance in the later game, it has the potential to be the best cure lab around.
Togges – December 7th
Togges is a charming and colourful 3D Puzzle-Platformer. Plunge into the colourful world of Togges. This unforgettable sandbox adventure is a combination of both something new and totally familiar.
Solve puzzles by spreading and stacking these cute blocks called Togges around the cosmos to save the galaxy from the threads of the void.
Yair reviewed Togges and said this in his conclusion.
Togges is a 3D platformer that distinguishes itself from others innovatively while maintaining many familiar elements of previous titles, for example, games like Super Mario Galaxy or Pikmin. It is enjoyable and occasionally challenging to figure out how to move around on each planet, which is this game’s beauty. It is about uncovering secrets, finding collectables, mastering the different behaviours of the diverse Togges, and exploring the vast depth of the cosmos.
The story has its moments but wasn’t as hooking as expected. However, the colourful textures and vistas make it attractive to the eye, and in terms of music, SFX is quite good (Some funny screams of the Togges take the prize here). Overall it is an entertaining game with a fair amount of content to explore and exciting mechanics to play with.
Wavetale – December 12th
Surf the waters of a submerged city! Unravel the past, save the islanders from mysterious sea monsters, and discover hidden secrets.
Explore an open sea and the decaying archipelago of Strandville in Wavetale, a story-driven action-adventure game introducing you to fed-up fishermen, secretive hermits, and maybe a pirate or two. Traverse calm waters and surging waves as Sigrid, a young girl befriends a mysterious shadow that gives her the power to walk on water.
Yair reviewed Wavetale giving it our highest score of Two Thumbs Up.
Wavetale is a relaxing adventure game that will give pleasurable enjoyment to those who want to explore together with an emotional and hooking story. It is not a demanding game, in a good way. It is a short game that takes around 5 hours to complete, yet it can be more depending on how each player wanders across these oceans. This is what you are looking for, especially for players who don’t feel they have much time to invest in playing or learning complex controls. It is relaxing, enjoyable, short, and fun, so check it out!
Cites Skylines Financial District DLC – December 13th
Boost the economy of your City with a financial district, and use your funds to invest in the best industries for your population. Financial Districts is a mini-expansion from Colossal Order that adds the new feature “Investments” and more than a hundred assets to the game.
Invest your money wisely and improve the lives of your citizens. Many sectors await your support, including death care, healthcare, oil, ore, farming, generic industry, and logistics. Keep track of your investments with the new stock trading tab.
Cities: Skylines – Content Creator Pack: Map Pack 2 DLC – December 13th
Get some new inspiration and build more diverse Cities with “Map Pack 2” from the community modder Sidai. This Content Creator Pack adds 10 maps representing different biomes such as Boreal, Desert, Tropical, and Temperate.
I previewed both the Cites Skylines Financial District and the Cities: Skylines – Content Creator Pack: Map Pack 2.
Lil Gator Game – December 14th
Embark on an adorable adventure, discover new friends and uncover everything the island offers. Climb, Swim, Glide and slide your way into the hearts of the many different characters you meet on your travels!
Explore a lovingly crafted island full to the brim with areas to discover, friends to make and joy to be had. Each area of the island brings unique quests and characters to meet. Glide through the mountain tops and drop in on the Theatre Troupe kids. Swing your stick sword through the forest with the Prep schoolers or find the ‘Cool Kids’ down in the Creaklands. With plenty more areas to discover, there’s no knowing who you might run into.
Aka – December 15th
Find inner peace in a small, open-world game. On these carefully handcrafted islands, you can take a nap on a giant monster, feed baby dragons, and take care of the fauna and flora, but demons from your past might come back to remind you what you want to forget.
Grow plants, from flowers to vegetables. The farming system is inspired by permaculture, where associations (garden design) and wild animals play a role.
Mina reviewed Aka and said this in her conclusion.
Aka is cute, smart, clever, and sad. It’s beautiful and a kid-friendly introduction to loss. Players can choose their own adventure here; there is no pressure to get anything done in this game. You can do as you like and take as much time doing those things as you want.
That being said, it has its issues. I think this game just needs a little more love, and it could be a perfect relaxing game for the whole family.
Love the list!
Thanks for reading Hannah, we have lots of good games to look forward to.
