Welcome, it’s that time to look at the Upcoming Steam Games December 2023 that we have on our radar. But aside from our Upcoming Steam Games, if you play on Nintendo Switch then we also have an Upcoming Switch Games article here.
Furthermore, not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games and you can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Steam website.
Upcoming Steam Games December 2023
SteamWorld Build – December 1st
Break ground on a new frontier as the planet dies around you! Dig deep and build wide to excavate long-lost spacefaring technology, while ensuring everyone has the vital water, fuel and creature comforts they need! Do you have what it takes to reach the final frontier?
That mine under our town is sitting empty, and wouldn’t you know there are rumours of ancient tech down there that might help us out of this predicament? Round up the posse, circle the wagons, and let’s get to buildin’ a new home! Collect resources above ground and ores down below so we can get those wealthy bots in here to help us build bigger, and we can get out of here!
I reviewed SteamWorld Build and gave it our highest score of Two Thumbs Up and said this in my conclusion:
SteamWorld Build is a delightful game where you always work towards interesting goals. The combination of city building and mining work in tandem together extremely well. It’s a brilliant pairing of opposites, from the bright sunshine on the surface to popping into the mine, which is dank and dark, with the SteamWorld aesthetic tying it all together.
A Highland Song – December 5th
Moira McKinnon is running away. A wild adventure through the Scottish Highlands, with open platforming and dynamic storytelling, maps and music. From the creators of Heaven’s Vault and 80 Days.
To reach the sea, Moira must first cross the Scottish Highlands, a wilderness of paths, peaks, shortcuts, dangers, and song.
I reviewed A Highland Song and gave it our highest score of Two thumbs Up.
A Highland Song is beautiful and heartwarming; it feels like you are in the highlands of Scotland that’s immersed in the area’s culture. A’body should play this game, enjoy Moira’s thoughts, and skedaddle aff over the auld highlands. A Highland Song is a wee belter of a game and one of the best games I’ve played this year when Moira and I saw the sea.
While the Iron is Hot – December 5th
Explore the land of Ellian, and prove that a hammer, anvil, and your wits can overcome any challenge.
Step into the boots of a journeyman blacksmith on a quest to become a master in While the Iron’s Hot, a crafty adventure assembled with mystery, wit, and charm. Forge, smelt, and combine works of metal to grow your smithing skills and discover exquisite new items to create.
Born of Bread – December 5th
Beings from another age are causing havoc across the land! And with their mischief comes a great threat to everyone. The unlikeliest hero, a golem born of bread, will find himself and his newfound buddies in the middle of a drama that’s thousands of years in the making. Together, they will visit incredible locals and meet fascinating characters. Although he may not look like much, Loaf might be the hero this land kneads.
Play as a flour golem who possesses a never-ending childlike wonder and a set of odd abilities. Team up with a colourful cast of characters, explore the different regions of a wonderful world ripe with mysteries and engage in a fun and quirky turn-based combat system.
James reviewed Born of Bread and said this in his conclusion:
Born of Bread is a lovely RPG surprise to end the year on. A wholesome and feel-good experience that is suitable for absolutely everyone, especially if you’re looking for a more casual RPG experience. It has a plot that captures the childlike fascination and wonder of a new world, an actively engaging battle system but not too overbearing, and an overall jolly presentation that had me smiling throughout the adventure. Something delightful to enjoy in handheld or share the experience with the little one; just remember silly voices are a must. Born of Bread is feel-good gaming at its best and an adventure I highly recommend checking out.

In the adaptation of the award-winning Wingspan: Oceania Expansion embark on a journey through the breathtaking lands of Oceania. Learn about birds from around Australia and New Zealand and all-new resources and mechanics that will enrich your adventure of creating a wildlife preserve.
CJ reviewed Wingspan on the Nintendo Switch and said this in her conclusion:
This is one of my favorite games of 2020, hands down, and one that I expect will be made even better when they roll out any upcoming patches. If you enjoy strategy board games I 100% recommend looking into Wingspan. And since the publisher mentioned that they do plan to add some expansions down the line (no dates yet) I expect to get hundreds of hours of play out of this gem.
