There are multiple modes to enjoy, including Tournament, Trial Towers, Mix It Up mode (with Wonder effects), and Adventure mode, where Mario and friends are transformed into babies and must defeat monsters to return to normal. Plus, experience Joy-Con 2 motion controls with Swing Mode.

Lynne reviewed Mario Tennis Fever and said this:

Mario Tennis Fever has lots of laughter value for a party game, and playing together, be that locally, via GameShare or online, makes for a great experience.

However, for the solo player, there isn’t enough content to make it memorable. The adventure mode, which I was really looking forward to, was short and oddly balanced, favouring academy training rather than adventuring.

Mina checked out both the base game and the DLC to Lil Gator Game giving both our highest rating. Here’s what she wrote in conclusion about the newly added DLC:

Lil Gator Game: In the Dark is a fantastic addition to the base game. I adore the original, and I even do randomisers of it in my free time. The DLC had a couple of small issues, but it didn’t impact my overall enjoyment of it.

I love this game, and I’m so happy it got some DLC. It is well worth the price; there’s lots to do and a bunch of story stuff. The new map is beautiful, the music and sound design are great, and you get to spend even more time with everyone’s favorite lil gator. I cannot begin to tell you all how much Lil Gator Game and In the Dark warms my heart. If you liked the base game, you won’t want to miss the DLC.

Clue: Murder By Death – February 13th

Clue Murder by Death

Clue: Murder by Death is a narrative-driven detective adventure inspired by classic British crime fiction and modern investigative games. Explore an imposing manor, examine evidence, interrogate suspects, and connect clues across multiple branching narrative paths. Every conversation, every alliance, and every accusation shapes the investigation and determines how the story ends.

Lord Robert Anderson has been found murdered in his secluded country manor. Summoned by his loyal butler, an old comrade of your father from the Great War, you arrive in the dead of night to uncover the truth.

Everyone appears distraught, yet behind polite smiles lie secrets, grudges, and carefully hidden motives. You don’t yet know who committed the crime or why, but you do know one thing: You have 120 minutes before Scotland Yard arrives.

Lynne reviewed Clue: Murder by Death and said this:

Clue: Murder By Death has a great framework for a video game. Appropriate graphics and a clever use of different dialogue give the game an authentic feel, more than just a remake of a classic board game.

However, with slow loading times and character movement, it misses the mark and leads to cumbersome and frustrating gameplay. Clue: Murder By Death would have benefited from more user testing and proofreading to capture the typos and grammar mistakes. Although I initially liked the game, the game-breaking crashes mean I really can’t recommend it at this time.

Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown – February 18th

Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown

Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is a story-driven survival strategy game in which the fate of the iconic starship is in your hands. Take the helm, manage the ship and resources, and make difficult decisions. Will you be able to bring home the ship and its crew?

Wonder no more: Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown allows players to take control and shape the journey of the U.S.S. Voyager as they want. Take a risky approach or play it safe. Be diplomatic or let phasers do the talking. Research technologies that were shunned by the crew. But: Be prepared to deal with the consequences of your actions! Each run, you will encounter different situations, and even iconic characters might meet an early end if you don’t react accordingly.

After being moved forcefully into the Delta Quadrant, the U.S.S. Voyager ends up heavily damaged and in dire need of repairs as well as internal reconstruction. Restore destroyed rooms, secure life support and energy supplies, and start constructing. Ship systems, crew quarters, industrial and research facilities: You must decide what to build and when, to ensure the ship has what it needs for the perilous journey

Ys X: Proud Nordics – February 20th

Ys X: Proud Nordics

Stand Proud for a new adventure in Ys X: Proud Nordics! Experience Adol and Karja’s unforgettable journey across Obelia Gulf with new quality of life improvements, then discover the new story centring around Öland Island, and the mysterious newcomers Canute and Astrid. And once you’re ready, challenge yourself in the devious, time-trial dungeon of Muspelheim, where every second counts. Your new adventure awaits!

James reviewed Ys X: Proud Nordics and said this in his conclusion:

Ys X: Proud Nordics is the most complete version of an already strong action RPG. The refined performance, expanded story and extra challenges make it the definitive way to experience Adol and Karja’s journey across Obelia Bay.

If you’re new to Ys or skipped the original release, this is an easy recommendation. Fast combat, enjoyable exploration and a solid central duo carry the experience confidently.

If you’re a returning veteran, your enjoyment will depend on how ready you are to relive the voyage.

Either way, Falcom proves there’s still plenty of life in this long-running series.
