Welcome to our Wholesome gaming news!
This week, we have news about a physical edition of A Tiny Sticker Tale, the Steam Celebration for Wholesome Games for Whitethorn and a release date for Gourdlets. Minami Lane is releasing on Switch. You can now pet cats in Lake, and the time-travelling turn-based RPG Saveseeker was announced.
Physical Edition for A Tiny Sticker Tale
Meridiem has announced the release of the boxed physical edition of A Tiny Sticker Tale, an adventure and puzzle game that mimics the appearance of a sticker book. Developed and digitally published by Ogre Pixel, the physical edition will be available for Nintendo Switch from October 10th, 2024, in specialist stores across Europe.
Lynne gave A Tiny Sticker Tale our highest rating of Two Thumbs Up in her review and even made a guide for this laid-back game. She wrote in her conclusion:
A Tiny Sticker Tale is one of the most adorable games I’ve played this year. The graphics are bold and colourful, removing and placing stickers is good fun, and the quests are satisfying. Designed to be a short adventure, A Tiny Sticker Tale packs a lot in and definitely a game to get stuck into!
Steam Celebration for Wholesome Games for Whitethorn
From August 15th to August 21st, there’s a Wholesome Games Steam Celebration going on! Just our cup of tea, of course. Whitehorn Games is celebrating along with some of their most relaxing and easy-going titles. Two games are available at a discounted price. Plus, you can get a sneak peek at two upcoming games with available demos.
Botany Manor: Pick up the newly released Botany Manor Soundtrack Bundle, which includes the basic game and the calming soundtrack, for 10% off
Teacup: Pick it up during the event for a 55% off discount!
Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island: Check out the latest demo ahead of its launch this year
Slime Heroes: Check out the latest demo ahead of its launch
Gourdlets Release Date
Gourdlets is coming! It will be released on August 15th on Steam. What can you expect? An easygoing sandbox game about building towns for cute vegetable folks. You can create your perfect community and then watch as the gourds make themselves at home. There are no objectives, no points, just good vibes.
You can play in full screen or let your gourdlets hang out at the bottom of your screen in idle Window mode, which reminds me of Weyrdlets, the virtual desktop app. If you can’t wait and want to try out Gourdlets now, you can find the demo on Steam.
Minami Lane Releasing on Switch
The wholesome game Minami Lane is coming to Switch after its release on Steam this winter. In this cozy management sim, you can build your own street. You unlock and customize buildings, manage your shops, and maximize the happiness of your villagers to complete quests and fill your street with love!
Kalina reviewed the game and gave it our highest rating, saying in conclusion:
“Minami Lane is easily one of the cutest and most “coziest” games I’ve ever played. From the moment I started it, I was immediately reminded of another cozy favourite of mine – Capybara Spa, but to be honest, Minami Lane is easily the better game. It perfectly balances challenge and cuteness with enough quirkiness and cats to satisfy any cozy games fan. My only gripe is that someone should’ve warned me to get a bubble tea to have on hand while playing Minami Lane.”
Minami Lane is coming to Nintendo Switch on August 15th.
Caravan SandWitch Release in September
Cozy, semi-open world exploration adventure, Caravan SandWitch, will launch in September 2024 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
You will go on a journey in a hopeful post-apocalyptic setting to uncover the mysteries of Cigalo and find your missing sister. As you traverse this captivating world, you’ll interact with various communities, assisting them with their tasks and meeting new people along the way. Whether exploring by van or on foot, you can enjoy the adventure at your own pace, free from the pressures of combat, death, or timers—just you, your van, and the vast world around you.
Pet Cats in Lake
A brand-new has been added to Lake on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation: you can now pet the cats that are lounging around Mildred’s home! Just like in real life, each cat is different and has their own unique response, so it’s up to you to determine how to earn their trust so you can give them all the pets… and maybe even that ever-elusive belly rub.
In celebration of the new update, you can purchase Lake on Steam at a 50% discount from August 8 through August 14th.
In addition to the Pet the Cat update, a new Endless Mode, recently released on PC, has been added for Xbox and PlayStation players! If you can’t get enough of the sleepy little town by the lake after you’ve finished the main story, you can now jump back into The Goose and keep on delivering mail to the eclectic residents as long as you’d like — no new stories, no additional dialogue, just some scenic and relaxing driving around beautiful Providence Oaks.
Saveseeker Time-Travelling Adventure RPG
Paper Sword Games has announced that the cosy time-travelling adventure RPG Saveseeker will be launching on Steam in 2025. In Saveseeker, you follow young Emmer Edette and her grumpy toy dragon sidekick Tippleton on a mission to thwart her former Hero father and save the world. You’ll travel to distant lands, overwrite his save points, hone Emmer’s time-travelling abilities, and recruit a party of former bosses, each with unique skills and motivations.
The adventure spans six beautifully animated worlds, from the autumnal Badwoods to the steampunk airship Aertemis. Prepare for turn-based combat and strategize carefully to help Emmer and her friends succeed against various enemies.
