Zelda DLC in Monster Hunter Stories

Since release, mid-September, I’ve been playing Monster Hunter Stories. It’s a different uptake on the Monster Hunter World, but just the kind I need. This adventure is a combination of Fantasy Life and Pokémon with turn based battles and a strong collecting streak. I have played the main Monster Hunter game before and found it too hard for me. But this is much more my playstyle.

I had already played the demo way back when it was released in Japan, but since I got the full English version I’ve been wowed at the sheer immensity of the world, the quests and side-quests, the online functionality and streetpass features. This is one complete adventure if I ever saw one. I will sit down and write a full review soon, but for now I have something else to tell you.

Nintendo of Europe has tweeted that free Zelda DLC is coming to Monster Hunter Stories on September 28. It will come with a number of items that all fit into the more cartoony style that the game sports. But you will be able to ride Epona, use the Master Sword and dress in Link’s tunic. Epona will take form of a new Monster ally that you can use in battle too. Your Felyne companion Navirou can then wear Majora’s Mask.

The clothing set and the special Epona egg can be downloaded using the Tournaments DLC. There you see the Legend of Zelda: Battle for Hyrule and Legend of Zelda : Triforce Cup. In Battle Rules you can download Zelda rules, for a special weapons exchange ticket. Add to that the Sticker Set, the special background to your rider card and special titles to use on your rider card. You can see the trailer below. Looks awesome, right?
