Animal Crossing New Horizons….if you are a gamer you can’t have missed it. Due to the circumstances in our real-life world, the game couldn’t have come at a better time!
There never was never a time like this one, where face to face contact is a no-no, distance is needed and safety and staying at home is key. A time where working online from home, having meetings and get- together’s with friends using virtual tools is the new norm.
Can’t go outdoors with a lot of free time on your hands? What better way then retreat to a tropical island and meetup with friends (animal neighbors and humans alike!). It’s almost like Tom Nook had the foresight and business insight that an island getaway is much appreciated right now.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about this too and how proud I was that I’m an Animal Crossing gamer. (Read my ramblings here). I thought it a nice idea to collect some effects the game has had, some very touching, others hilarious or awesome.
So if you are feeling a bit down facing yet another day at home, enjoy this good-feel read!

No chance at the moment going to the Happiest Place on Earth, aka Disney World. But you can visit it in Animal Crossing New Horizons, in this recreation of the Haunted Mansion attraction!

Re-creation of famous landmarks, or familiar situations is a fun way to be creative on your island. But it can also be a very powerful way to remember loved ones that you have lost in real life…
We weren’t able to keep my dogs ashes. I was feeling down about that so I made her a little memorial in AC. I walk past her and do the greeting emote everyday to let her know I haven’t forgotten about her. And even when I stop playing, I know she’ll live on forever on my island pic.twitter.com/iJ86bF0HHs

I’m struggling to find enough time to make my island the best it can be for my animals. Check out these amazing examples of creativeness.

Famous People jumping on the Bandwagon
I love how you can give access to your island by using a DoDo code, giving you some control over who and for how long someone visits. How surprised would you be if Elijah Wood would drop in to sell his turnips!

Although it’s not certain the Football season 2020 is even going to happen, the Detroit Lions got creative to let their fans know who they will be facing in each week of the season! Very, very creative!
Big shout out to @animalcrossing for holding it down while we wait for football season. #animalcrossingnewhorizons #acnh #animalcrossing pic.twitter.com/RcvUKq91Cb

Taking to Instagram, designer Marc Jacobs announced he had recreated six of his favourite looks for the fantasy world of Animal Crossing, in a partnership with @AnimalCrossingFashionArchive, an Instagram dedicated to chronicling all the high fashion pieces to hit the game. Check out the six designs he made, and use the download codes into your game to look amazing!
Rogue One writer Gary Whitta hosts #AnimalTalking in his Animal Crossing talkshow that’s gone wildly popular. See Elijah Wood, Danny Trejo and Greg Grunberg in their alter ego having some fun!
This may be my favorite moment from #AnimalTalking so far. We've broadcast about 30 hours of this dumbass show but if I had to show any 60 seconds from all of it I'd show this. Thanks @directedbyrian @officialDannyT @elijahwood @nickervision for this moment of pure glee. pic.twitter.com/irlCWmxsSO

Real Life and Virtual Life collide
Yummy House, whose products range from soy sauce to canned abalone and which has eight stores across Hong Kong, posted in a recruitment advertisement this week that it is seeking a “game specialist” who is creative, has art skills, and has played Animal Crossing for over 100 hours.
The company will showcase aspects of the company on the island, such as its products, logistics, factories, and stores, hoping that online interest will translate into real-life sales.
Macarons are lovely anyway, but these take it to another level!

Well, we all know Amazon right? Did you know there’s a Nookazon as well? Buy and sell Animal Crossing items, furniture, clothes and whatnot using bells instead of real money. And pick it up by using a DoDo code. I must say I haven’t tried it myself, but I must say I’m surprised at peoples entrepreneurship!
Check it out for yourself at Nookazon.

The musicians behind the main theme of Animal Crossing: New Horizons have come together virtually for this special performance! Cool huh?
And with that, I’m leaving you to start your weekend. Got any tips of fun, emotional or cool things like these, all about Animal Crossing New Horizons? Pass them on to me, there may be another article like this in there!
No tips – just want to say thanks for the Nookazon link. To me, the game is like when I would do “imaginary stuff” as a kid – basically just shut the world out and enjoy being in my “happy place”. Horizons couldn’t have been released at a better time!
Totally agree, Mike, it’s given a lot of people a place to get away from the real world for a bit.
