With 2020 on our doorstep, it’s time to look back at 2019. I love some statistics, and for those of you who love ‘m too: I’m gonna share some Facts & Figures with you. So what happened at LadiesGamers.com?
Traffic at the site
In 2019, we published 562 articles. Reviews, guides, articles listing the best off, gaming news and editorials. They were all there.
Like our writers, our audience is scattered all over the world. In total we had views from 168 countries. But the majority of them are in the United States as you can see in the chart below. The chart lists the most important countries.
Working with a team of writers
Mid 2018 we started reviewing games in earnest. Working with a writers’ team on a volunteer bases means that everyone reviews and writes when they have time and when a game comes by that interests them. Though our team is bigger, at any time there are about 6 or 7 people active. Which is why, if you are interested in writing for LadiesGamers.com yourself, the door is open!
Thanks to many publishers and developers, we still have been able to bring a lot of reviews to you. Not that it matters if it’s a review code or not in the scoring, mind you. We always strive to make an honest judgement, as it’s your money that is on the line. I try to get codes to the writer who is “into the game genre”, that surely helps to get a good opinion.
Rating the reviews
We reviewed 186 games this year, each of them scored on our rating system. 9 of them got our highest score of Two Thumbs Up. I highlighted them in this list, see if it’s a game you played too! 70 got an I Like it a Lot: still a wonderful game, good value for money and certainly worth your time. 82 games were rated with I Like It. Good games, and worth your time, but there are little niggles that prevent them from reaching the higher score.
17 games hung in the balance of I’m Not Sure. These are games that might be a game some players might love, but our reviewer wasn’t convinced. And sadly, we have given 7 I Don’t Like It verdicts. A score we always hope to prevent, but sometimes there’s no choice…
Best viewed reviews
The scoring aside, there’s not always a clear reason why a game review does well in views, and why other’s get much less attention. Maybe because it’s an indie game that doesn’t get as much media attention, or maybe because by now people know to find us for simulation games. Or it might be a different reason altogether, for instance that Qubic Games made Space Pioneers their surprise free game. I mean, if I had a glass ball I’d be beter at predicting the number of views, but I don’t. So, here’s the top 10 of the best viewed reviews:
- Farm Together
- Doodle God: Evolution
- Graveyard Keeper
- My Time at Portia
- Space Pioneer
- bayala- The game
- Merchants of Kaidan
- Rimelands: Hammer of Thor
- Koloro
- Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists

Guides, guides and more guides
Aside from reviews, we have found that guides work very well on LadiesGamers.com. It’s a work of love, takes more time to write then a review, but it’s also very satisfying. And our readers love them! The Civilization guides Paula made did very well. And we didn’t know what hit us when Paige and Beth were able to put together the Doraemon guides on release date! So many views, hadn’t seen that before!
- Doraemon Story of Seasons: early tips and tricks
- Doraemon Story of Seasons: store hours
- CIV VI Beginners Tips
- Dragon Quest Builders 2: Explorer Shores

The Tops do well too!
Aside from reviews and guides, we release Tops articles: lists of best games for a certain audience or console. They do well over the years, the best of them are these below:
- The Best Switch games for girls ( published 2018)
- Top 15 Games for Girls of All Ages ( published 2017)
- Top Simulation games on Switch ( published 2019)
LadiesGamers has been running for 5 1/2 years now, and over the years some articles are viewed over and over again. The Top 15 Games for Girls of all Ages is such an article, but so is Review Tongari Boushi to Mahou no Machi ( sequel to Magicians Quest) and lately a lot of people have been looking at older articles about Tomodachi Life, Swapnote and Steam game Garden Paws that we hope to welcome on Switch soon.
See? Get me talking about “site business” and I could go on and on. But I guess this is enough for the facts and figures, don’t you think? All that’s left now for me is to wish you a good time tonight when 2019 turns into 2020!
