It’s the start of a new week, and even though Monday’s are usually slow news days, we have several news snippets from the world of gaming. I trust you’ve all had a great weekend.
Super Mario Maker 2 Tops UK Sales Chart for Second Week Running.
Without question Super Mario Maker 2 is a massive hit for Nintendo. What’s more, it seems to be generating serious sale momentum for other Nintendo titles too. This week, Super Mario Maker 2 retains the top sales spot, whereas Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild hold 4th, 5th, and 9th place respectively. Other Nintendo titles in the top 20 are Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu at 16th and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe at 18.
By the way, I’ve recently uploaded two levels for which I would love to receive feedback.
Daemon X Machina Orbital Limited Edition Heading to Europe
Nintendo of Europe seems to be way ahead of Nintendo of America when it comes to limited editions. The latest game to get a limited edition in Europe is Daemon X Machina. The upcoming limited edition includes a limited-edition box, a steel book case, an illustrative artbook, and an 18cm statue figurine.
Daemon X Machina is heading to Switch on 13th September.

New Pokémon Sword and Shield Trailer
Game Freak has released a new trailer for Pokemon Sword and Shield to highlight new Pokemon, Gym Leaders, the Galar Pokemon League, and Gigantamaxing!
I also have a question for Pokemon fans. Is it usual for different versions of Pokémon titles to include alternate gym bosses? Also, are you looking forward to the latest Pokémon adventure from Game Freak?
Dr Mario World and Dragon Quest Builders 2 Release this Week
Dr Mario World is coming to iOS and Android devices this week, and reviews/impressions are already becoming available on the web. As usual, the game includes timers/hearts which limit play, but reviewers suggest that in-app purchases are not required to enjoy the game fully.
This week also sees the release of Square’s long-awaited Dragon Quest Builders 2 on Nintendo Switch. My family loves the first title, so I guess they’ll love this one too. Will Dragon Quest Builders 2 be a day one purchase for you?
Dr Mario World and Dragon Quest 2 will launch on the 10th and 12th July respectively.
New Fire Emblem: Three Houses Gameplay Trailer
Nintendo has published a new gameplay trailer for Fire Emblem: Three Houses. In a recent interview, the game’s director Toshiyuki Kasukihara stated that each house could take up to 80 hours each to complete. That’s a lot of playtime!
Fire Emblem: Three Houses is set for release on 26th July.
That’s it from me.
