Animal Crossing guide on paper!

With Prima Guides out of the picture, a reader remarked the other day that it would be a pity not to have a guide to leaf through and check what items you’ve already acquired. Now I don’t yet know if items lists are included, but I was pleased to see this guide on Amazon.com (also seen it on Amazon.co.uk)

It is a 432 pages thick book, release in the UK is April 3rd and in the US April 9th.
The guide includes a catalog of all the tools, money-making techniques, and items you can purchase as well as design ideas and tips.

The companion guide also comes with a couple of bonuses. A two-sided bookmark features character artwork and a helpful cheat sheet on the other side. Plus, guide owners will gain access to an online calendar that can be used to keep up with all of the important dates in the game.

Ageless is coming to Switch

Team17, in partnership with Developers One More Dream Studios, announced Ageless for pc and the Nintendo Switch. In this platformer, you can wield the power to manipulate the age of flora and fauna in order to navigate puzzles.

The worlds you navigate all have their own unique plants and animals, some of which you can use to dash through the air. In every level there are items to collect that are hidden and only accessible via intricate platforming challenges.

Aokana Four Rhythms Across the Blue

Aokana is an award winning visual novel will be out this summer, developed by NekoNyan and published by PQube.

Discover a world where anti-gravity shoes are now the norm and gave rise to a sport called “Flying Circus”. Become the coach for the local club and make the acquaintance of Asuka, Misaki, Mashiro and Rika, four girls who race in the sky.

Is Hayfever bothering you too?

Sorry, couldn’t resist the pun! But seriously, developers Pixadome and Zordix have brought Hayfever to the Nintendo Switch and to Steam.

Hayfever is a frantic 2D platformer with a runny nose and tongue firmly in cheek. Postman Thomas is hopping, bounding and sneezing his way across 140 dangerous levels, delivering packages and recovering 240 lost letters, scattered by an unfortunate sneezing fit, from unlikely locations hidden around each stage.

Ary and the Secret of seasons new overview trailer

Bend the seasons to your will and follow a young girls courageous journey to mend the worlds’ disrupted seasons.  The game will release on the Nintendo Switch and other consoles and Steam this Summer.

After unfortunate events befall her brother and prevent his succession to her father’s role as Guardian of Winter, Ary finds herself stepping into a tough position as the first girl to join the Guardian of Seasons.

Dagdann, Brynn, and Luchtann are the current Guardians of Seasons. Every year, they meet in the Dome of Seasons for the once revered duty of reinforcing the seal that protects the world of Valdi. Over the centuries, the legends of an imprisoned evil mage have faded, and the Guardians’ sacred duty has been reduced to a superficial ritual.

By becoming the Guardian of Winter, Ary gains the ability to manipulate the seasons around her. Ary will learn to control the seasons and use them to defeat enemies, overcome obstacles, and solve complex puzzles on her adventure across Valdi.

Dragon Quest of the Stars RPG

If you are a fan of the Dragon Quest series, you’ll know there’s a mobile game as well in the App Store and Googleplay. In Japan, it’s a big one:  the releases surpasses 20 million downloads!

“During your adventure in this mobile RPG, you will explore a planet and fight monsters through exciting turn-based battles, solo or with friends. Characters featured in the game are based on the charming DRAGON QUEST™ style.”

Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeons

Yacht Club has Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon in development. A release date, and on which consoles the game will be released, is yet to be determined. But it looks like a fun gaming hybrid. It mashes up everything gamers love about falling block puzzle games, with a dungeon-crawling twist!

“Delve with Shovel Knight into the depths of the Pocket Dungeon on an action-packed puzzle adventure mashup like none other! Join your mysterious guide Puzzle Knight as you shovel through scads of foes, procure new equipment, and battle bosses both familiar and new. Explore a tale with endless twists and turns, quest as your favorite heroes, and even challenge a friend for fast-paced head-to-head competition in Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon!”

Board game Talisman coming to Switch

Fantasy board game Talismans Mystic Vale had now been adapted for the digital age. The game is coming to all consoles, mobile and Steam. Seeing it makes me think of Evolution, as in Talisman you also take turns, role the dice and uncover unique cards traveling across the gameboard.

Explore a world full of deadly creatures and powerful artifacts alongside 5 other brave adventurers. Gain the strength needed to climb your way to the Crown of Command, and become the one true ruler of the land!

Romantic comedy Visual Novel Arcade Spirits

An interesting game, published by PQube is also coming to the Switch on May 1st: Arcade Spirits.

Set in 20XX, Arcade Spirits follows an alternative timeline where the 1983 video game crash never occurred – after a turbulant work history you are granted employment at the Funplex, a popular arcade, home to a host of unique personalities and customers. Where will this new found employment take you? Who will you meet along the way? Will you find the romance you’re seeking?
