It’s that time again, time for the gaming news that stood out to us this past week. There’s news about: the Animal Crossing movie, Two Point Hospital expansion, Roundguard bouncing onto the Switch, the new Animal Crossing commercial, Legend of Zelda Hyrule Historia in digital form, Adams Venture: Origins coming to Nintendo Switch, Trüberbrook for IOS and Android, Level 5 is working on the next YoKai Watch, LEGO and Nintendo collaborate and Animal Crossing merchandise.
Animal Crossing Movie shown again
Remember how we featured the Animal Crossing movie here on the site? If you haven’t seen it, here’s the article.
What better time to bring it to attention again, with New Horizons coming up. So, fans in Japan will be able to rewatch the 2006 Animal Crossing animated movie. The movie airs on the Japanese TV channel Kids Station.
Two Point Hospital expansion Off the Grid
The next expansion for Two Point Hospital, Off The Grid, will be available for PC via Steam on March 18. No news yet on the Switch version though, but hopefully that news will follow. It looks like a good one:
“In Two Point County, voter research has repeatedly suggested that the public’s number one concern is with the environment. To secure her place in office… ahem, we mean, to support the green-minded community, Two Point County’s ever-present mayor, Tabitha Windsock, founded the ‘Department of Green Things’. She recently discovered it pays to go green in this time of poor voter polling, so why not join the mayor on her journey to ecological (polling) victory in Two Point Hospital – Off the Grid.
In Two Point Hospital – Off the Grid you’ll explore three new regions each with its own unique characteristics. Help make Two Point County a beautiful and sustainable place to live, by researching 35 brand-new unusual illnesses (9 visual), like Green Fingers and Root Snoot, and experiencing exciting treatment rooms on your route to eco-friendly success. Get gardening to treat the region’s most herbaceous afflictions, before moving on to Windsock City, the County’s first eco-city, where you’ll need to build green energy machines to stay switched-on and self-sufficient. Generated power can be used to open hospital rooms or allocated to the Patient Flow and Staff Applicants systems, to influence transport in and out of the city.”
Paula has bought the game and reviewed it, expect her review up here tomorrow!

Roundguard bouncing onto the Switch
Wonderbelly games and Quantum Astrophysicists Guild have brought Roundguard to the Nintendo Switch. The game is already available in the eShop, and the devs described it like this:
“Castle Springbottom is under attack! It’s up to the Roundguard to save the king and — more importantly — recover his gold! Fling your hero into the face of danger and bounce off hordes of dangerously cute monsters to reach the bottom of the dungeon. With only one life, you’ll need to learn how to navigate hazards, make strategic choices, and master your hero’s skills if you hope to defeat the final boss. But don’t worry, the Roundguard always bounces back!”
New Animal Crossing New Horizons commercial
With the release less then a week away, a new commercial has been released by Nintendo. Enjoy, because: what better time to escape to a tropical island?
Legend of Zelda Hyrule Historia in digital form
I remember seeing this book in Gameshows before, and I even bought it for someone as a present. Good to know that the hefty tome The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia will soon be available in digital format too.
You can buy it from the Apple Books store, Amazon and Google Play from April 14th for $19.99. The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia is 280 pages and produced by Eiji Aonuma and Akira Himekawa. Currently, the physical release will set you back $39.99 (official price).
Adams Venture: Origins Nintendo Switch
SOEDESCO announced the Nintendo Switch version of Adams Venture: Origins, coming May 29. Fancy yourself Indiana Jones and play as Adam Venture in the roaring 20’s.
Go on a journey to unravel the secret of Eden. Together with your companion Evelyn, you explore ancient ruins and solve ingenious puzzles to find mysterious locales. As you travel to unique locations, you’re opposed by the evil Clairvaux company, who’s intentions for exploring artifacts could unleash chaos around the world.
Trüberbrook for IOS and Android
In collaboration with the German production company btf, and exactly one year after its launch on PC and consoles, publisher Headup announces the mobile version of the atmospheric mystery adventure Trüberbrook. Truber-what? Well, imagine “Twin Peaks” meeting “The X-Files”, but in rural cold-war Germany. The release for Android and iOS will happen in Summer 2020. An exact date is still to be announced.
The game is out on Switch of course, and you can find our review here.
Level 5 is working on the next YoKai Watch
Good news for YoKai Watch fans: Level-5 is working on a new game in the Yo-Kai Watch franchise for the Nintendo Switch system and PlayStation 4. The game is titled Yo-kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Academy Y and is due out for both platforms this summer in Japan. Details r are scarce, but Level-5 has revealed the following:
“In the game, players will partake in intense battles as “Yo-kai Heroes”. The game will also offer a school life experience of some sort so that probably means hanging out with Jibanyan and others in a school setting.”
LEGO and Nintendo collaborate
Nintendo and Lego are teaming up revealing Super Mario-themed sets that combine the traditional Lego building blocks with digital technology. In this way, they create a new type of interactive playset somewhere between regular Lego and Mario video games.
The interactive Mario figure will collect coins in a real-life game level that has been created with LEGO bricks. How cool is that? So this is neither a regular video game, nor a traditional Lego set, but something entirely new. Check out the video to get an idea of what we can expect!
Animal Crossing merchandise
The big chains are picking up on the popularity of Animal Crossing. Hot Topic is showing a line of shirts and such with some sweet images on it! But I must say the one with Nook and Forever a Loan made me smile.
