The weather turned colder here in the Netherlands, hard to believe that just a month ago it was so hot in the house we could use every breeze that blew in. Now, it’s time to turn the central heating on. Comfy evenings ahead, with lots of gaming fun! Let me get you a cup of coffee, so we can sit down to share some handheld gaming news!
Releasedate Root Letter
Remember how I mentioned that October would be a crazy busy month for handheld games? Well, more games are heading our way! Root Letter, which I wrote about last week (see the article here) will be released on October 28 in Europe for the Vita (and PS4) and on November 1 in the US. Another one on the list!
Harvest Moon: Skytree Village releasedate
Another release date just got announced: Harvest Moon: Skytree Village will be released in the US on November 8!
The game is the successor of The Lost Valley, and I am pleased to see this game embellishes on the basics of The Lost Valley. They seem to have improved on some things that weren’t perfect before. Now there is a town where the main characters live, which make for a nice change in just farming and landscaping. You can upgrade your tools, so you don’t need to farm so painstakingly, one tile at a time. I’m happy about this new release, a must buy for me. Check out the new trailer below!
Pokémon Sun and Moon demo announced
Not the full game yet, but the demo for Pokémon Sun and Moon will be available in the eShop on October 18…I’m going to need to take time off from work! This demo, on top of all the other great games!
The demo is a separate adventure from the full game, in which you travel with Ash-Greninja. This is the form Greninja takes when it has gained new power due to the miraculous occurrence known as the bond phenomenon. He bonded with Ash of course. When you complete your adventure with him, you can move him over to the full game once that is released in November!
Meet Story of Seasons Capybara
Story of Seasons, Trio of Towns is a game that is slated for early 2017 (don’t worry, not for October!). They will introduce a new pet, the Capybara. To celebrate this you will get a 3,5″ plush Capybara when you pre-order the physical copy of the game. Sweet!![]()
If you have never played the current Story of Seasons, or Rune Factory for that matter, now is your chance. Both games have dropped $10 in price, to $29,99 in America.
That’s it for this week. I’m going to go back into my New Leaf town while I play Yo-Kai Watch 2 as well. What will you be playing this weekend? I’m curious to hear!
Thanks for reading and happy gaming next week!

I am looking forward to Pokemon Sun and Moon. I may get Skytree Village if its reception is good.
Did you play the Lost Valley, Matt? The new kind of Harvest Moon games does seem to be an acquired taste!
I didn’t. Yes, that seems to be the case. I guess that is why I am not sure I should get it or not.
Be sure to take a good look first. Some people definitely weren’t enthusiastic
Will do! Thanks for the suggestion!
Capybara – very cute
Root Letter looks like an interesting visual novel. The ad especially got me with its comparison to Phoenix Wright! I also look forward to that Pokemon Sun and Moon demo. And that capybara is so cute! I love the Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon preorder animals.
Its nice, those plush animals. A pity I can’t get them that way over in Europe!
I don’t preorder stuff, which is a shame because that Capybara is adorable.
Watched the Harvest Moon: Skytree Village trailer, it does look like fun! Looks to be an AC:NL time killer. Between DQ VII and Sun and Moon here in 5 1/2 weeks, I just won’t have enough time to play.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I’m in serious need of Hermione Grangers’ time turner!
