Upcoming Switch Games April 2021

Welcome, April is upon us which can only mean one thing at LadiesGamers: it’s time to take a look at the upcoming new release games on our favourite handheld the Nintendo Switch for April 2021.

Mind you, not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the big gaming sites don’t mention. These are the games that we are taking notice of, and if given half a chance, you can expect reviews for many of them! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game mentioned, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Nintendo website.

Train Station Simulator – April 1st

Train Station Simulator is a station builder and manager game. Be a creative engineer by planning flooring tiles, building walls and creating emergency routes. Install ticketing machines, monitors, appliances, place benches and dozens of other public space-related objects.

Hire your staff for a more reliable operating ecosystem. The demand for rail travel is evident: setup the complete timetable for your central station and deploy all local and national bus, tram and taxi connections. What Comes After – April 1st

From the creator of Coffee Talk, What Comes After is an experience, a heartwarming story, and a love letter to all of you who think you’re a burden for other people. Help Vivi finds herself through the journey that takes her too where people go after they died, to what comes after.

Ride the train filled with the souls of the people, animals, and plants that are on their way to leave this world, and talk to them to learn about love, regrets, life, and death that haunt us every day until our time has come. All presented in a light-hearted way with a sprinkle of comedy and philosophy. Ash reviewed What Comes After and gave the game our highest score of Two Thumbs Up.

You play as Melissa Flores, a 3rd-year anthropology student participating in a summer archaeological internship. The field school takes place in Belgium, over 5000 miles away from your native California!

You’ll be staying in an unfamiliar country for two months, it can be nerve-racking, but you couldn’t pass up such a learning opportunity! Maybe you’ll dig up some bones, or even unearth tools that were manufactured by early humans. You might also forge friendships and find romance during your stay.

Lost Words: Beyond the Page – April 6th

Lost Words is an atmospheric narrative adventure that takes place in the personal diary entries belonging to a young girl named Izzy that will unfold as you explore a fantasy land where words hold immense power.

Featuring an immersive story crafted by renowned games writer Rhianna Pratchett, Lost Words: Beyond the Page will mesmerize players with its unique blend of gameplay mechanics and striking watercolour aesthetic.

Driven by the player’s curiosity, the world of Estoria and the power it holds will serve as the engine that will propel Izzy through this deeply personal narrative, resulting in a truly memorable experience. I had the pleasure of reviewing Lost Words: Beyond the Page and gave it our highest score of Two Thumbs Up.

Cosy Grove – April 8th

Welcome to Cozy Grove, a life-sim game about camping on a haunted, ever-changing island. As a Spirit Scout, you’ll wander the island’s forest each day, finding new hidden secrets and helping soothe the local ghosts. With a little time and a lot of crafting, you’ll bring colour and joy back to Cozy Grove!

As I wrote in our article on Cosy Grove takes place on beautiful, dynamic, hand-drawn landscapes that come alive when you help a spirit in need. There are dozens of memorable characters and spirits for you to find and befriend. Each spirit has a unique, extensive story for you to unravel over time. You can find our review here. 

Potion Party – April 8th

Step into the colourful world of Potion Party, and run your own alchemy shop in this fast-paced party game!

Grow exotic fruits, and synthesize them together to produce fabulous potions! Earn gold, grow your humble shop, and unlock new and unique characters, each with their own special skills. Using your earnings, decorate and grow your shop with an array of different items. Beware, however, enemies and intruders lurk in the shadows, who want to mess up your shop! Defend against them and maintain the best shop possible.

Brew potions together with up to 4 friends in co-op mode, or play against them in versus mode to crown the best alchemist in the group. You can read out Potion Party review here. 

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV – April 9th

The long-awaited finale to the epic engulfing a continent comes to a head in the final chapter of the Trails of Cold Steel saga!

IT’S WAR! The continent of Zemuria is dragged into the conflict as the Erebonian Empire mobilizes the full force of its military. The heroes of Class VII old and new must unite to end the conflict before it consumes the continent. James reviewed Trails of Cold Steel, and you can find it here. 

Deiland: Pocket Planet Edition – April 15th

Rain on Your Parade – April 15th

Rain on Your Parade is a slapstick comedy game where you play as a mischievous cloud. Play across a wide range of levels while unlocking new abilities and mechanics that get progressively more ridiculous. Make new friends and help them too – it’s an adorable schadenfreude game!

Travel across the world, inventing new ways of causing chaos and mayhem. Turn the perfectly dry and sunny wedding day into a wet one, unleash thunder and lightning upon the cities, bring pandemonium to supermarket shoppers, destroy farmer’s crops, sneak around military bases and rain down meteors on dinosaurs! Yes, not even the dinosaurs are safe!

As you progress in the game you will unlock new and more comical methods of causing bedlam. Use thunder and lightning to scare people out of hiding and set things alight, tornados to suck up everything that gets in its path, rain explosive material that you can blow up and even entire meteors and much more. Stitchy in Tooki Trouble – April 15th

Save your corn and defeat troublesome thieving Tooki! As Stitchy, a dedicated scarecrow, you are on a mission to recover every stolen piece of corn and reclaim your fields from the evil wooden Tooki!

Pursue your corn across several distinctive worlds. On your legendary quest you’ll have to dodge wooden piranhas in lush jungles, tackle Tooki in dark temples and try not to lose control on a snowy mine cart ride – and much more! Each world has 9 levels, a boss battle, and a secret level for the curious.

Stitchy in Tooki Trouble is easy to pick up and play on the go, and the charming fairy-tale art along with inventive enemies and intuitive controls make this an all-ages platforming delight! Atelier Mysterious Trilogy Deluxe Pack – April 22

Koei Tecmo doesn’t stop pouring love to its Atelier fans, by launching various exciting games of the series. With the recent release of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy, which Yvonne gave Two Thumbs Up to in her review of the game. Now Koei Tecmo is bringing another Atelier game to the Switch. And it’s not just a standard game because it’s a trilogy deluxe pack!

This collection will include the enhanced versions of three previous instalments of the popular JRPG series naming, Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey, Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, and Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings.

Each title in the collection will be released with its original content and complete DLC. On top of that, new features will be added to each title such as photo mode, digital art gallery, and a double-speed battle option. In addition, each game will receive various new content including new costumes, new vehicles, a new quest, a new world, and more! New Pokémon Snap – April 30th

Seek out and take in-game photographs of Pokémon in their native environments in the New Pokémon Snap game. Snap photos from the NEO-ONE as you you encounter and research lively wild Pokémon. You might see unexpected expressions or behaviours—Pokémon patrolling their territory, playing, or lurking in out-of-the-way spots.

Travel to the islands that make up the Lental region. In this region, some of the Pokémon and vegetation will appear to have a special glow. Research these Pokémon alongside Professor Mirror as you explore dense jungles, vast deserts, and more! Your observations of Pokémon thriving in the wild may help unravel the truth behind the Illumina phenomenon. The Pokémon pictures you take will be used to build your very own Pokémon Photodex!

Save photos to your personal in-game album to edit and adjust them. When you complete a course, you can adjust the brightness, blur, zoom and other aspects of your photo in Re-Snap mode. Then, add stickers, frames, and filters to add a personal touch. Share your favourite photos with family and friends in-game. You can also see what kinds of photos everyone else is taking.
