Express Car Wash Simulator Early Access Impressions

A code was provided, many thanks to Yekta Ozcan.

In July of 2025, I got to cover a demo of a game called Express Car Wash Simulator. Now, almost a year later, I got the opportunity to cover an Early Access version of the same game. Let’s see what’s changed and what stayed the same.

How This Simulation Game Works

As someone who adores the cleaning simulation games like Powerwash Simulator, I am drawn to these types of games and was looking forward to trying Express Car Wash Simulator once again. Lucky for me, the developers reached out with a code for this, and I finally got to dig a little deeper into what it’s like to wash cars for a living.

Express Car Wash Simulator opens with a little car washing business just getting started. You buy soap, open up the car wash, and get your first customer. After that, you get to finally wash a car.

A car is half covered in mud and half in bubbles in Express Car Wash Simulator.
Scrub off that mud and make it shiny!

First, you start with a sponge that needs to be scrubbed over the whole surface of the car. You can stand on tiptoe to make yourself taller, you can walk, crouch, and crouch lower. This allows you to get every angle of the car clean. After that, you need to rinse all the soap off, leaving a shiny, clean vehicle to give back to the customer. You drive it over to the completed section of the parking lot, then the customer pays you and leaves.

You can then buy upgrades for your sponge, hose, and other items. There is a magic gun, X-ray goggles that show you where all the remaining dirt is, as well as games and things to keep your customers amused while you clean their car.

Big Changes for Express Car Wash Simulator

I was blown away by how many quality-of-life updates had been made since I played the demo. Express Car Wash Simulator has had a massive number of improvements, including how long it takes for customers to get mad, how many shady customers you get that will steal from you, and available funds.

I like the addition of the water droplets on the screen when you are washing something close up.

The biggest complaint I had with the Prologue was the amount of money you ended up with. Soap was expensive, and you had to use a lot of it to get cars clean. This new version really speeds up the process, giving you a lot more extra income to spend on upgrades and keeps customers from getting angry at you for taking too long to clean. Some other changes made that really improved the game for me were:

  • It is now actually possible to clean a car 100% in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Soap is used more slowly, so you don’t spend all your money on it.
  • There is now a little room for you to decorate with your collection of car cards and furnishings.
  • While it not yet active in the game, there is an automatic car wash that will be unlockable in the future.
  • It’s just a lot more fun now!

So many amusements for the customers to choose from!

While not much has changed with the overall vibes, which I liked a lot, the gameplay loop has been tightened in a way that makes Express Car Wash Simulator so much more fun.

The Cons of Express Car Wash Simulator

Now that the gameplay loop has been updated, Express Car Wash Simulator is a lot of fun. I didn’t experience any bugs, and it feels so much better to play than it originally was. However, I did have a few issues with it.

The first is that the gameplay loop is very simple. You clean, you give the car back, you buy some things, you clean, you decorate your space, you clean some more. There isn’t a lot to do in Express Car Wash Simulator besides wash cars. I think that the addition of detailing the inside of the cars would add a lot more interest and would have kept me engaged longer.

There is now a glass wall in your office where you can put all your cards you collect when cleaning cars.

For what it is, Express Car Wash Simulator is well-made, but don’t expect very much variety in it. It’s pretty relaxing and chill overall, but it does get a bit boring after about an hour or so.

Conclusion

Express Car Wash Simulator is still very much in early access, and I am sure that the developer has a lot more planned for the full release. However, the changes that have already been made are massive improvements over the demo. I’m excited to see where this goes. There is a lot of potential here, so hopefully the roadmap is filled with new things to do.
