Gaming News Week 47

Come on in, get yourself a nice cup of coffee or tea and pull up a chair.

A bit hard to keep money in your wallet currently, with all those good sales going on, right? Maybe it’s better not to look at what discounts there are; I’m afraid they will only sit there and add to my backlog!

Here’s this week’s other gaming news.

Expansion Packs Cities: Skylines 2 Delayed

Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive have brought us news that the expansion packs for Cities: Skylines 2 have been delayed. They have decided to focus on improving the game’s performance, in line with what has already been done over the past weeks. Their primary objective remains to ensure that every player gets a seamless and optimized experience. This means these adjustments have been made:

  • Asset Pack release – Q1 2024 (initially planned for Q4 2023)
  • Creator Packs – Q2 2024 (initially planned for Q1 2024)
  • Medium Expansion – Q2 2024 (no change)

Rails Meet Road update for Sweet Transit

Last year, Paula took a peek at Sweet Transit, the strategic city builder that was available in Early Access. She liked what she saw (check her preview here), so very interesting that the game has its fourth major update. The ‘Rail Meets Road’ update overhauls how goods are transported and how settlements are run, giving players more realistic logistics, and tighter control on the running of their world.

Sweet Transit also charges full SteamDeck ahead with Steam Deck compatibility and arrives at the Steam Autumn sale, making it currently available with a 40% discount until 28th November!

Free Game Trial Switch Online in Europe: Fae Farm

Do you want to give Fae Farm a try for free? You can when you are a Nintendo Switch Online Subscriber in Europe. From November 22nd-28th, you can try the game and see if you like it. I know we did! Paula wrote in her conclusion in this review:

Farming, bug catching, fishing, crafting and animal care have all been implemented well in Fae Farm. There is certainly plenty to keep you busy. The game looks beautiful, and it’s pretty chill. However, I’d look elsewhere if you’re into the romance side of simulation games and looking for relationships with NPCs. The NPCs don’t offer much and feel wooden, which is a pity.

Steam Autumn Sales

It’s a good time for sales: the Steam Autumn Sale is going on till November 28th. If your wallet still has some money to spend, you will find nice deals there. Like TerraScape, that is 25% off and has a new Growth Update coming. Paula previewed the Early Access version this spring and definitely saw the potential.

Also on sale are the Chibig games with Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara at a discount of 30%. The Chibig Universe Bundle brings you Summer in Mara, Ankora: Lost Days and Deiland for a discount of 82%!

Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator Coming

How about getting busy with plants without getting your hands dirty? Cozy gardening game Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator will be released on February 22, 2024, for PS 4 and 5, Xbox series and Steam. A Switch version will follow later in 2024.

Game features:

  • Accessible gameplay in a charming world to discover the joys of gardening from the comfort of your home, whether you are already green-fingered or a complete novice
  • Advance at your own pace in the game’s cosy world via Story mode. Meet colourful characters, fulfil their different requests and unlock new varieties, decorations and zones for your garden as you progress.
  • Create the garden of your dreams, and let your imagination run riot in Creative mode, which provides unrestricted access to all the plants, tools and decorations.
  • Monitor your plants’ development thanks to the procedural growth simulation technology designed especially for the game.
  • Take your most beautiful shots and share them with the whole world via photo mode!

Gaming News – Animal Crossing Plushies Build-a-Bear

Build-a-Bear kicked off its Black Friday 2023 Bear Building sale, and various Animal Crossing plush are included. There are single and bundle options for Isabelle, Tom Nook, and K.K. Slider.

That’s it for this week; thanks for reading!
