It’s that time again, time for this weekends gaming news. This time, we have news about:

Sequel to NAIRI announced

Over a year ago NAIRI: The Tower of Shirin saw light on the Nintendo Switch. This charming, yet melancholic, point and click adventure is now getting a sequel, called Rising Tide. In this graphic adventure, Nairi pushes onward on a perilous quest to save her family.

For now, no release date for Switch is available, but you can get a sneak peak with the playable prologue that is coming to Steam on May 21st.

Fiscal year Nintendo has ended

Always interesting to see the results for Nintendo when their fiscal year ends on March 31. It won’t be a surprise for you that the company once again had a good year. Below you can see the sales for the Switch versus lifetime sales and the other consoles. The Nintendo Switch Lite was added to the Switch line last September and this ensured the sales didn’t loose any momentum.

Looking at software, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield became big hits, posting sales of 17.37 million units, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, released in March, sold 11.77 million units, which is now the best start ever for a Nintendo Switch title. The sales for AC are only for the 11 days that are in the fiscal year 2020! I bet Fiscal Year 2021 will see more impact from the AC game.

Snacko gets a Steam page

Some time ago we mentioned Snacko World, a farming sim where the protagonist is a cat. Snacko came to life as a team effort by husband and wife Jordan and Erisa, based in Vancouver. They worked on it after their daytime job, what a great joint effort and decided to feature their own cats in the game.

The developers have announced on Twitter that the game now has its own official Steam page. On the page, you can find plenty of information about the game, including videos, images and a bio for the game. So first Steam, but a release on Switch is what I’m hoping for!

The game will have farming, fishing, cooking, crafting and some fighting. Find your way through 4 distinct biomes, each with their unique puzzles, recipes, and creatures. Decorate your farm and town to suit your taste.

Cooking Simulator in the eShop

Are you a fan of cooking games? Then you will be pleased to find that a new one is coming to the eShop on May 14: Cooking Simulator. But this time no cutesy graphics, but a highly polished, realistic kitchen. Use ovens, gas stands, pots, pans, bowls and plates, everything you need. Prepare dozens of lifelike ingredients – from vegetables through fish to steaks and poultry – to cook over 60 real dishes, or anything you like.

Chloe is currently reviewing the game, so keep an eye on the site.

Mythical 2D puzzler EverGate announced

The expansive 2D puzzle-platformer features a unique align-to-shoot mechanic. With it, players skillfully guide the child-like soul named Ki through a mythical story of dreams, memories and reincarnation.

The game is set to release on Nintendo Switch, PC and consoles in 2020.

New Horizons has already outsold the other instalments

Animal Crossing New Horizons launched on March 20th and has since then managed to sell more than 13 million copies of the game within the first 6 weeks of its release alone.

This is already a huge achievement but the number looks even more impressive when compared to previous instalments in the franchise. Check out the chart Nintendo has released that shows it very clearly!

SNK Gals’ Fighters disappeared from eShop

Last week, the Neo Geo Pocket Color title SNK Gals’ FIghters was released in the Switch eShop. For a yet unknown reason it has now disappeared again from the European eShop, and it’s not sure if that is temporary. It is still available in the American eShop though.
