Gaming News – Weekend

Time again for some gaming news! This time, we cover several topics: new DLC for Graveyard Keeper, A Hat in Time on the Switch, Root Film is in the making, upcoming game The Big Journey and a Pokémon pop-up store in London.

Graveyard Keeper DLC

Graveyard Keeper on Switch has been a big succes, with a lot of people loving the weird simulation game. Good news then that, releasing on 28 Oct, 2019, a new DLC package called Stranger Sins lands on the Switch.

In this first big storyline DLC you will have to build your own tavern and dive into the past of the world of Graveyard Keeper. Discover secrets of the locals. Find out more about the ruins are in the Village. What is the ancient curse? Where did the Ancient Contract come from? Interesting right?

A Hat in Time release on Switch

Looking for a cute looking collecting game? A Hat in Time is about Hat Kid. She is a young alien flying home, when she flies over a world run by the mafia.

Sadly, an enforcer comes to collect, causing all of the Time Pieces used to power her ship to be lost. So that’s your task: collect the time pieces again, but aside of that you can also collect different hats and badges. Each of them give you different sorts of abilities. Every area has a different sort of activity to go about the collecting, making it a nice challenge.

The game is available digitally and physically. The digital version is  $29.99 and offers the Seal the Deal DLC for $4.99. What’s remarkable though is that the game is a whopping 16 GB in size when you download it, about the same size as BOTW. If you go for the $39.99 physical copy, then a Seal the Deal DLC code comes with it.

Root Film coming to Switch

A visual novel with similar gameplay elements as Root Letter is coming to the Switch. One of the game’s distinctive systems is the Synesthesia Mode, where during conversation, keywords that must not be forgotten in your subconscious are visualized on the screen. These keywords can be used as your ammo in ‘Max Mode’. These are debates that are important to solve the mystery that is the base of the story.  Below is the storyline to Root Film.

“Aspiring filmmaker Rintarou Yagumo joins a mystery drama TV project that’s set in the Shimane prefecture, which is also meant to act as tourism PR. The project began ten years ago and while a pilot was made, the project was cancelled for unknown reasons before being revived now.

One of the main points of this project is a competition between three filmmakers, with each of them working with a different actress playing the protagonist. When finding out that the other two filmmakers are famous directors, Yagumo gets excited for the project. For pre-location hunting, Yagumo and the staff head out to the filming location, but what awaited them was a murder incident…”

Mr. Whiskers on a The Big Journey

In a couple of weeks’ time, The Big Journey is coming to the Nintendo Switch. On October 31 to be precise. This game, that is available already on mobile, is about Mr. Whiskers. He is just an average cat, who loves rolling around and eating just about anything. His favorite, however, are dumplings. And when the maker of his favorite dumplings goes missing, Mr. Whiskers must go on an adventure to find him.

A game for puzzle lovers, and you can expect a review here on the site soon.

Pokémon pop-up store London

A new store opening in London has attracted the fans from far and wide. It’s a Pokémon Pop Up store, that will be open to the public from 18th October until 15th November. It’s located in the Westfield shopping center (London, Ariel Way, Shepherd’s Bush, W12 7GF.) And I can testify that this shopping mall is nice to visit even if you’re not just going for the Pop-up store. Might be just as well that you have a backup plan, as last Friday the store issued a warning even before the shop opened at 9 am.

“Queuing for entry to the Pokémon Center London is now closed for the day. There is a limit of sales on some items to ensure as many customers can enjoy the experience and the products available.

People had been queuing there since 4 am in the morning!

Tokyo Mirage Western release censored

WiiU game Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is coming to the Switch. Good news for those of you who never played the WiiU version. The game has had some controverse though. The WiiU version was a censored version of the Japanese game.

The storm that followed has to do with the fact that Nintendo didn’t make it clear when they were taking pre-orders that it would be the toned down version and not the original Japanese game that is coming to the Switch. They have stated to be in touch with the people who already bought the game before the January 17 2020 release.

That’s it for us, enjoy your weekend!
