Gaming News weekend 35

It’s that time again, time for the news that stood out to us this past week. There was, of course, the Wholesome Snack broadcast that we wrapped up (find that here) and the Summer press conference for NIS America (find that wrap up here). But lets see what other news there was.

In the Nintendo Direct Mini that dropped quite unexpectedly we had several interesting news snippets, like the release dat of Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, Rhythm Game Fuser, Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythmic Adventure Pack and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Plus, we also have news about Animal Crossing New Horizons and Curious Expedition 2 Wins Best Indie Game.

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory

We have a release date for Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory on the Switch! November 13 2020 the fans will finally be able to play the rhythm game on the Switch. The Direct Mini showed a lovely trailer with many familiar Disney faces that are there to lend our heroes a hand, it that will surely entice the fans.

Over 140 songs will be included in total, so there’s bound to be something for pretty much everyone. The new mode is a ‘Free-for-all’ mode which allows you to compete with up to eight players.

Quality of Life Improvements, Wave 2

Nintendo, take note! Really, this is an amazing clip of how an Animal Crossing Direct can look, with lots of tips about the things New Horizons could improve upon. And the ideas they have would really make a great game even better, so I hope Nintendo has their notepad at the ready. Check it out!

Rhythm Game Fuser

Multi player Fuser is an upcoming rhythm game developed by Harmonix expected to drop on all major consoles this Autumn.

In Fuser, the player takes the role of a DJ at a large concert. On the virtual DJ table you have four record players, and a list of records along the top of the screen. Each record has four tracks keyed by color and related to a type of musical instruments like drums, guitar or vocals. Together with your friends you can combine elements from famous songs and hear what it sounds like. Who can make the best mix?

Zoids Wild: Blasts Unleashed

Zoids Wild: Blast Unleashed is the latest video game from the legendary anime franchise. Unleash the wild mecha power and animal instincts of Zoids, in a story that follows the war between Arashi’s Team Freedom and the power-hungry Team Dark Metal.

Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythmic Adventure Pack

Did I miss a memo? Why are there so many rhythm games coming? And here I am, absolutely awful at them!  Anyway, Taiko no Tatsujin is coming with a Rhythmic Adventure Pack this upcoming Winter.

Two games from the Taiko no Tatsujin are coming in one collection to the Switch. Live the RPG adventure with Don-chat by traveling to the future to save the world from strange occurrences.  Your fighting will take place to the rhythm by stringing combo’s together to form a formidable attack. You can get help by gathering a great team of Drum monsters as allies.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is here

The remastered Edition of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is here. An enchanting action RPG that follows a young group, known as the Crystal Caravans, as they embark on an epic journey to search for myrrh, a precious and rare liquid needed to cleanse and maintain a crystal protecting their world from the deadly gas, miasma.

Curious Expedition 2 Wins Best Indie Game

A while back Elena reviewed Curious Expedition and absolutely loved it (find her review here) So, it’s good news that Curious Expedition 2 is in early access already on Steam.

Curious Expedition 2 was named winner in the “Best Indie Game” category for the gamescom awards 2020 during the gamescom this past week, at the Opening Night Live streaming event. Curious Expedition 2’s nomination was made by a jury formed of German and international games journalists, well-known YouTubers and other experts, which made its selection from more than 140 submissions.
