Time for some handheld gaming news to tide you over the weekend. This time it’s about simulation game Stranded Sails heading to the Switch, and about maintaining the farm in Dragon Quest Builders 2. Portal Knights on the Switch hasn’t gotten much attention lately, but got a big update just now. And a re-release of Yo-Kai Watch 1 on the Switch Lite.
Sim Stranded Sails on Switch
Yet another simulation game is coming to the Switch. Stranded Sails! This game will come to Steam as well as PS4, Xbox and Switch in one release, this October!
In Stranded Sails, you’re ship-wrecked with your crew on a mysterious archipelago. As the child of the gravely injured captain, you take charge and set up a camp for the surviving crew. Various quests await you! Explore the islands, find tools and treasures and build a new ship to find your way home. Before you can embark on exciting adventures in the depths of the Cursed Islands however, you have to prepare yourself by farming, cooking and crafting.

Portal Knights big update
Sandbox game Portal Knights has been around for a while on the Switch. A good game I think, in the style of Minecraft. The development team has been fairly quiet, but now they made a comeback with an update.
These are the changes to the Switch version:
- The Mage’s Guild! A new quest city full of characters and Elysian lore.
- Dungeon creation! For the first time, Creative Mode players will be able to place monsters and create traps and puzzles with new logic blocks, buttons, pressure plates, and more.
- New Quest Log. Players can keep track of their quests as they travel from island to island and can choose which ones to track.
- Much, much more! Hundreds of quality of life updates, bug fixes, performance optimizations, and other surprises.
Farming in Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a pleasure
As you may know, I’m currently enjoying the newly released Dragon Quest Builder 2. As is ChamZen, who is much further along in the game. Personally I wondered how they could improve on the already perfect game the first one was.
But I can tell you they managed to make it different. The first island you visit, Furrowind Island, is home to the farm you are gonna make. Where farming in DQB1 was a sort of afterthought, to get ingredients, but in DQB2 you make an entire farm. And you don’t even have to do a lot of the hard work yourself, as your friends in your team do a lot of the work. Check out the vibrant colours in ChamZen’s screen print!
The Switch Lite is accompanied by Yo-Kai Watch 1
The original Yo-kai Watch is getting rereleased on Nintendo Switch, Level-5 announced. So this means Japanese fans are getting the chance to play the original on the new device on September 20.
Thanks for reading, and enjoy your weekend!
Stranded Sails looks good!
