Welcome. It’s time to look at the Upcoming Steam Games in December 2024 that we have on our radar. But aside from our Upcoming Steam Games, if you play on Nintendo Switch, we also have an Upcoming Switch Games article.
Upcoming Steam Games
Furthermore, not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games, and you can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Steam website.

Carve your way through epic courses, stomp mind-blowing tricks or unite your crew for gnarly multiplayer mayhem. Feel the rush with our next-level physics engine that brings rad arcade snowboarding action to life.
James reviewed the game and liked it a lot. He wrote this in his conclusion:
Slopecrashers is a love letter to the arcade-style snowboarding games of yesteryear. It’s accessible, fun, and packed with options for solo players and multiplayer chaos, local or online. While it doesn’t reinvent the snowboard, it’s a nostalgic ride down memory lane with a modern twist.
Overthrown – December 5th

Lift and throw anything as you build and manage your kingdom in this chaotic city builder for 1-6 players. Harness the power of your soul-stealing crown to defend your citizens from bandits and mutants, farm the land, and gather resources. Keep citizens happy, or see them desert you.
James tried out the demo for Overthrown and said this:
The demo is clearly an early build, but it hints at big things to come. Overthrown is shaping up to be a city builder where you can craft the kingdom of your dreams, keep your citizens happy, and protect them from danger. If you’re into stats, you’ll love tracking things like worker satisfaction, resources, and taxes. This is the kind of game you can easily sink hours into.
I had fun exploring and experimenting, though a bit more guidance would’ve helped. That said, I’m confident these issues will be smoothed out as development continues. If you enjoy city builders, especially with friends, definitely give the demo a try while you can.
Symphonia -December 5th

In the realm of Symphonia, music acts as a source of life and energy. However, since the founders and their orchestra vanished, the inhabitants have become divided, and the world slowly falls into silence. What if there was a way to gather a new orchestra? That’s the question Philemon, the mysterious musician in Symphonia, will have to answer.
Embody, a mysterious violinist, is brought back to life in a declining world. Your violin and bow are both your instrument and a means of transport. Catapult yourself through the world and complete levels by solving exciting platforming challenges while re-activating the machinery that brings life and energy back to this world.
Mythwrecked Ambrosia Island – December 5th

You’re Alex, a rookie backpacker taking a much-needed break from modern life. Your trip is interrupted when you are suddenly shipwrecked on Ambrosia Island, a beautiful, long-forgotten place of myth and sunshine. It’s home to the gods of Greek mythology. They’re real, after all, even if they are having an identity crisis.
Can you discover the secrets of Ambrosia Island in this sun-drenched ‘Friend Em Up’ Adventure?
I reviewed Mythwrecked Ambrosia Island and gave it our highest score of Two Thumbs up.
Polygon Treehouse has delivered another gem, Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island, which is a delight from start to finish. It combines a heartfelt narrative, accessible gameplay, and a beautifully crafted world to create a truly memorable adventure. Whether you’re here for the mythology, the humour, or the cosy vibes, you’ll find plenty to love in Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island.
Nikoderiko: The Magical World – December 6th

Run, jump, ground pound, slide and ride through seven unique worlds in Nikoderiko: The Magical World, a charming platforming adventure game! Play in single-player or couch co-op, and enjoy music by legendary composer David Wise.
James reviewed Nikoderiko: The Magical World on the Nintendo Switch and had this to say in his conclusion:
Nikoderiko: The Magical World may feel very familiar to longtime fans of the platforming genre, but it offers a polished and enjoyable experience. The variety in platforming mechanics, along with engaging boss battles, make for a fun time. With difficulty options, the game is Z accessible to both experienced players and newcomers. And if you can bring a loved one along for local co-op, it only enhances the experience, much like the cheerful outlook of the game’s main characters.
Dog Man: Mission Impawsible – December 6th

The key to the city has fallen into the hands of a supa bad guy, unlocking all the prison doors and releasing many evildoers. Help Dog Man and his friends chase down the supa bad guys in their most impawsible mission yet! Switch between Dog Man and his Supa Buddies, each with their own special abilities and gadgets such as Rockets Boots, Retractable Claws and Dirt Proof Pants. Together you can overcome challenging obstacles and defeat powerful bosses.
Lynne reviewed Dog Man: Mission Impawsible and said this in her conclusion:
Those acquainted with the books will enjoy the familiar characters and references in Dog Man: Mission Impawsible. However, you don’t need any prior knowledge of the Supa Buddies to enjoy this bright, humorous and colourful platformer.
Stars In The Trash – December 9th

Stars in the Trash brings the magic of animated movie classics into a narrative-driven platformer that combines action, exploration and puzzles. Tired of feeling trapped at home, Moka, a spoiled cat, decides to run away and seek Adventure. Explore, make friends, fight, and escape from the kennelman.
Mina reviewed Stars in the Trash and said this:
Overall, I had tons of fun with Stars in the Trash. If you like things like the Aristocats or The Fox and the Hound, I think you will love this game. There are so many details, such as beautiful art and loving care and taking in every detail, that I think anyone who loves animals will dig this game. As I said in my preview of the Stars in the Trash demo, it feels like playing a Disney movie. Now that I’ve played the whole thing, it feels even more like that. I love this game a lot, and I think most of you will love it too.
COMPLETELY STRETCHY! – December 12th

A befuddling mishap has made you COMPLETELY STRETCHY! Stretch, swing and stick around the delightfully odd and vibrant Grombi Isles in this eccentric and light-hearted 3D platformer.
After you and Dr Grimble experience a rough day at the Elektro factory, you find yourself transformed – with a blue, stretchy, and sticky body!? Fellow denizens may be befuddled by your new look, and to make matters worse, the Elektros have escaped containment and are now scattered around the Isles!
James reviewed COMPLETELY STRETCHY! and said this in his conclusion:
Completely Stretchy offers a pleasant walk through a highly unusual yet original world. Its simple mechanics and casual flow make it perfect for relaxed gaming sessions or even for sharing the experience with a friend. While it doesn’t innovate in gameplay, its unique art direction and whimsical charm make it worth exploring. A free demo is available on Steam.
On Your Tail – December 16th

Welcome to the perfect vacation getaway: Borgo Marina. Be warned, there are mysteries around every corner in this Italian paradise. Befriend the locals, find clues, and play your cards right to uncover the town’s secrets in this story-driven Adventure.
Leif’s Adventure: Netherworld Hero – December 19th

Leif’s Adventure is a story-driven, cooperative 2D action adventure that celebrates the power of friendship, drawing inspiration from Nordic folklore. Play solo or team up with a friend, seamlessly switching between Leif and his loyal sidekick, Ghost, each possessing unique abilities. Defend your village of Hammerfall from a mysterious evil invasion as you evade traps, solve intricate puzzles, upgrade your gear, and unlock new abilities. Embark on an epic journey and become the hero the Netherworld never saw coming.
James reviewed Leif’s Adventure: Netherworld Hero and said this:
Leif’s Adventure: Netherworld Hero is a captivating, heartfelt journey that I wholeheartedly recommend to fans of action-adventure games. The hand-drawn visuals, satisfying combat, and touching story make it a standout experience. Sure, the boss fights can feel like they’re out for blood, and solo players might find the spirit mechanics a bit overwhelming, but these are small bumps in an otherwise fantastic road.
If you’re unsure, try the free demo on the eShop. It’s a great way to experience this Nordic adventure before committing to the full journey.
Pine: A Story of Loss – December 31st

Alone in the forest clearing he shared with his wife, a woodworker struggles to accept her passing. Help him hold on to cherished memories of their life together as he struggles to care for himself and his now-empty home. Pine is a single-serving game focused on telling a beautiful, emotional tale.
James reviewed Pine: A Story of Loss and said this:
The developers of Pine deserve immense credit for tackling such a challenging subject. Grief is not an easy topic to explore, but the game handles it with grace, showing both despair and fleeting beauty in equal measure. It also offers a rare and honest portrayal of male mental health, capturing the struggle in a way few games have dared to before.
Pine: A Story of Loss is not for everyone. It’s emotionally heavy, and some may find its rawness difficult to face. But for those willing to embrace its message, it offers a deeply moving experience and even a few quiet smiles along the way. If nothing else it reminded me of the importance of appreciating the ones you love in the moment as you just never know what life will throw at you.
Dino-Ducks Dash – December

Dino-Ducks Dash is a 2D Hi-Score Multiplayer Runner. You can play PvP, Co-Op or as a single player to beat the leaderboard. It has a couch co-op mode and an online co-op mode. And you can also beat the stuffing out of the other cute Dino Ducks with a machete!
James reviewed Dino-Ducks Dash and said this:
Dino-Ducks Dash is a goofy, accessible multiplayer game perfect for a night of casual fun. While it may lack the polish or depth of other platformers, it more than makes up for it with charm and chaotic hilarity. With the festive season approaching, it’s an ideal pick for some family or party shenanigans. Just don’t blame me if it starts a feud.
