It’s time to take a look at the upcoming Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 games that are being newly released on our favourite handhelds. You can check the Nintendo website for games that are compatible with both the original Switch and the Switch 2. Additionally, we also feature upcoming Steam games for those who prefer gaming on Steam!

Not all games to be released are listed here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games. You can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Nintendo website.
Solarpunk Switch 2 – June 8th
Solarpunk is a relaxed survival craft sandbox game, handcrafted by just two devs. Alone or together with your friends, you can construct creative buildings, decorate your home with a huge selection of furniture and objects, grow and cook food, craft gadgets, and explore distant islands in your own airship.
Use sunlight and wind to create an energy system and automate your processes, like gathering resources and watering your plants.
Design your dream home base with a wide range of materials and decorations. You’re free to build cozy spaces, add tiny details, and make your island feel just like home. Generate electricity using wind and solar energy. Weather conditions affect how much energy you produce, so you’ll need to plan. Store energy in batteries and use wireless power to keep your base running smoothly.
Play solo or with friends. Everyone has their own inventory, and you can decide whether to build something together or create your own little corner in the sky.
Lynne played Solar Punk for us, and gave it our highest rating, saying in conclusion:
It’s clear to tell that Solarpunk has been created with passion, from every placed flower making the environment look natural, to the sounds of wood crackling in the furnace, from the carefully planned upgrade path, to the numerous building options.
In my eyes, Solarpunk is something truly special, containing everything I want from a game: gathering, harvesting, exploring, crafting, building and decorating. There are a few niggles, but they don’t detract from the amazing scenery, the structured gameplay and the sheer enjoyment of creating a dream home, garden and farm.

Tavern Talk Stories: Dreamwalker Switch – June 9th
In this D&D-inspired visual novel, you will run a cozy seaside tavern, meet adventurers, gather rumours and mix fate-altering drinks to stop dreams from twisting into nightmares.
You find yourself in a little, bleary portside town in the south-east of Phesoa. There, 36 years before the events of Tavern Talk, you dive into the role of the Tavernkeep, the owner of The Drowsy Dragon, a small quayside bar on the coast of Borkam.
You have a special ability, gifted by one of the Great Dragon Gods or acquired through wizardly hubris: Mixing magic drinks that can alter the fate of your guests—be it mean mercenaries, savvy sailors or ambitious adventurers. Every guest, no matter who they are, has a place in your warm tavern by the seaside.
In The Drowsy Dragon, fate is not written in the stars; it is written in the menu! Mix unique drinks from a wide ensemble of magical potions—but be aware: There is more than one solution!
As you listen to stories brimming with the spirit of adventure, you sit within the cozy walls of your tavern and pick up rumours to turn them into quests. Some of them are old sailors’ yarn, so sort them thoroughly before sticking them up the wall!
As you meet new and familiar faces, all seems well. Your establishment is flourishing and friendships are made. All until something starts brewing on the horizon, something that’s going to twist your brightest dreams into your darkest nightmares.

Tavern Talk Stories: Dreamwalker is a delightful new story set within the Tavern Talk universe. It has all the winning elements from the previous game, and I can only hope that this will not be the last we see of the land of Phesoa and its quirky characters.
Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments Switch – June 10th

By finding all the cats in an apartment, you’ll clear the stage and unlock the next. Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments is calm, casual and therapeutic with a soothing soundtrack to match, making it the perfect “anytime” experience.

Secret Paws – Cozy Apartments was developed by Sagitta Studios. Lynne wrote a review about a similar game, by the same developer, but with an office setting instead of apartments. If you enjoy this demo, you’ll probably also be interested in that game: Secret Paws – Cozy Offices.
The Cozy Offices variant is a free game on Steam with a very inexpensive DLC you can purchase. The Apartment game is a full game with a similarly very low price point and gives you a lot of fun for your money. I had a really good time playing this demo!
Unrailed 2: Back on Track Nintendo Switch 2 Edition & Switch – June 11th

Every excursion your crew undertakes feels increasingly meaningful, with new rewards and permanent upgrades granting you character with gameplay-modifying abilities, as well as new train engines, wagons and extensions to unlock, giving you the tools to build a multitude of train configurations to play and experiment with. Each locomotive loss is an opportunity to rebuild and get… back on track!
Another one that got our highest rating! James wrote in conclusion:
Unrailed 2: Back on Track is exactly the sequel I was hoping for. It preserves everything that made the original special while introducing enough new ideas to justify its existence. The deeper progression systems, boss encounters, expanded customisation, improved solo experience, and increased variety all help elevate what was already a fantastic concept.
Most importantly, it never loses sight of what made the first game so enjoyable: the simple joy of working together to build a railway before disaster strikes. Whether you’re playing alone, with family, or with a group of friends shouting instructions at one another across the sofa, there’s an incredible amount of fun to be found here.
If you loved the original, this is an easy recommendation. If you’ve never played Unrailed before, this is arguably the best place to start. Train building has rarely been this frantic, this funny, or this satisfying.

Lynne reviewed Lovely Deco House and wasn’t entirely convinced. She wrote this in her conclusion:
There’s lots to admire in Lovely Deco House: the graphics are cute, there is an incredible amount of décor to craft, and the mini-games add a different aspect.
Whilst I like the concept of the game, the lack of interior space and the inability to stack items, the clunky controls and the end-of-game crash spoilt my overall enjoyment. For that reason, I cannot recommend it at this moment.
