Train Valley World Released
Train Valley World is out on Steam, where you enjoy the creative freedom of railway management that’s easy to learn and challenging to master. Paula looked at the demo for this game, as you can find here. The reviews on Steam are currently mixed, though. This simulation game from developer Flazm and publisher TinyBuild is another game in the Train Valley series. We have previously reviewed Train Valley Console Edition and Train Valley 2: Community Edition by the same developer as Train Valley World, and both games scored well.

Coffee Talk on Steam Mac, Too
Coffee Talk is now playable on MacOS, too, which is good news when you don’t own a Windows PC. In Coffee Talk, you take on the role of a cafe manager. You build your dream coffee business on wheels by brewing and experimenting with delicious recipes to keep your customers happy. All of this is done with a little rogue-like inspiration: take your run as far as you can, but if too many customers are unhappy, it’s game over. Our review for Coffee Talk is found here, and the Steam page is here.

Preserve Discounted and Bundle
Nature building game Preserve is out in Early Access, and to celebrate, the game is discounted by 20% from € 12,99 to € 9,99 till August 22nd. Additionally, you can now buy the original soundtrack and the Artbook for € 4,99. The entire package is available too, called the Wonder edition, for € 19,99. My impression of the Early Access version of Preserve is found here.
The digital Artbook allows you to explore the development of interface design, biome environments, card designs, and gameplay concepts. This collection offers a unique glimpse into the creative process that brought our game world to life.

Stars in the Trash Release Window
Some time ago, our resident cat lover, Mina, was able to take a look at the first demo of Stars in the Trash. She really liked what she saw, writing:
This game is wonderful. I love the sound design, the music, the characters, and the animation! From the blurb, this game sounds super cute story-wise too! The demo really gives a great idea of what playing the game will be without spoiling any of the tales. I’m really looking forward to what this game will turn out to be.
The good news is that Stars in the Trash now has a release window: Fall 2024! Check out the new trailer, specifically put together to commemorate National Cat Day.
Roguelike Deck Builder for All Ages: Nif Nif
Springfox Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Nif Nif, a charming roguelike deck builder that’s perfect for players of all ages. In Nif Nif, you’ll embark on a mission to rescue adorable creatures trapped in goo while navigating a whimsical world. Unlike traditional deck builders, this game focuses on cleaning and restoration rather than combat, making it a great choice for families.
With easy-to-learn mechanics and delightful visuals, Nif Nif invites you to collect powerful cards, clean up the forest, and cook magical soups to power up your hero. The game’s positive environmental message and cozy gameplay make it a fun and engaging experience for parents and kids alike. If you’re interested, you can support Nif Nif on Kickstarter now or follow its development on Steam.

Two Point Museum Unveiled
We love our Two Point games, so it’s exciting to read that a new one is coming! Two Point Studios and SEGA have unveiled Two Point Museum, a new management sim where you can take on the role of a museum creator. In this exciting game, you’ll manage and display a variety of spectacular exhibits, sending experts on expeditions to uncover rare artefacts and decorating dinosaur bones to create an unforgettable museum experience. Two Point Museum will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox X/S.
Using a brand-new world map, you’ll explore undiscovered areas to find relics in various styles and rarity types, adding depth to your museum. As you curate these unique finds, an endless star-scoring system will push you to refine your museum’s layout and strategy to make it the star attraction of Two Point County.
In Two Point Museum, you’ll not only have to manage your exhibits but also ensure that your staff is happy, guests are entertained, and donations keep flowing. You’ll need to protect your displays from the elements, vandals, and mischievous children while also customizing your museum’s ambience to maximize guest satisfaction.
With deeper customization options, you can tweak everything from decorations to gift shop displays, organize guided tours, and highlight your most impressive exhibits to draw in donations. Meeting your guests’ needs—clean facilities, plenty of refreshments, and a well-stocked gift shop—is crucial for keeping your museum thriving.
Release Date Gimmick! 2
We have a release date for Gimmick! 2. It’s gonna land on Steam and Switch on September 5th. James reviewed the first Gimmick! and loved it, saying:
I’m always pleased to see any retro game get a second chance at life on modern systems. Since Gimmick! Special Edition really didn’t get much attention this is a great opportunity to hop on a retro gem. Gimmicks approach to 2D platforming feels fresh and different even all these years later.
Gimmick! 2 preserves the original’s charming, vibrant visuals while updating them with stunning animations and new, lovable characters. Expect plenty of secrets to discover as you embark on this all-new epic journey. True to the original’s challenging gameplay, Gimmick! 2 offers a firm but fair challenge for platforming enthusiasts of all ages, with an easier mode available for those who prefer a more relaxed experience.

shapez 2 Has Landed In Early Access
shapez 2 promises to take the formula of its predecessor and elevate it to new heights, literally. The first shapez game is all about building factories and automating the creation and processing of increasingly complex shapes across an infinite expanding map.
With shapez 2, the game has moved into 3D factory building, space trains, and an expanded set of tools and mechanics; the game offers an exciting playground for players who love to automate things on a large scale.
Paula, who loves a good city builder/ strategic management game, has taken a look at the game and was impressed. In her conclusion, she wrote:
In its current early access state, shapez 2 is already shaping up (yep, that’s a pun) to be more than a worthy successor to the original. The new features, especially the 3D factories and space trains, add a level of complexity and depth that should keep players engaged for hours. Personally, I love it.
For fans of factory-building games like Factorio, shapez 2 offers a fresh challenge with its expanded mechanics and new dimensionality. If you enjoyed the first game, or if you’re new to the series and looking for a satisfying automation puzzle, shapez 2 is definitely well worth diving into, even in its early access form. As the game continues to evolve, it’s exciting to think about where it might go next.

Super Loco World Announced
Following his previous game, Farlanders, a turn-based non-combat survival simulation game about Martian colonization and terraforming, Ukrainian indie developer Andriy Bychkovskyi has unveiled Super Loco World. This will be a railroad-building game that combines creative freedom with realistic train behaviour and automation. Announced during the Wholesome Games Steam Celebration, the game aims to simplify the complexities of railroad construction. You can design tracks with the ease of a painter moving a brush while the game takes care of placing T-junctions, bridges, and curves.
In Super Loco World, you’ll manage every aspect of your trains, from building depots to creating turnaround loops for returning trains. Unlike some games, trains won’t magically turn around or navigate by themselves—you control their speed and manage junctions, with rail signals helping you automate these tasks as your network grows. The planned release date is to be announced.
