Levelhead takes cloud saves to the next level
Levelhead is a platformer maker that will land on the Switch on April 30. The games’ editor lets players use programmable switches, secrets, and hundreds of items to create incredible levels, from contraptions and calculators to side-scrolling adventures and metroidvanias.
What’s extra nice though is that players can move their works-in-progress to the cloud and continue editing them from anywhere. Once published, player levels are accessible from all platforms, regardless of where the level was created. check out the trailer:
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town has a date
Game Boy Advance classic, Friends of Mineral Town is having a complete overhaul. The remake will launch physically and digitally on 10th July 2020 for the Nintendo Switch within Europe and Australia. The game will release both physical and digital. An American date hasn’t been released yet.
This will be the first real Story of Seasons title, which means of the original Bokujo Monogatari series of games. Used to be called Harvest Moon, but it’s not the same series as the Harvest Moon Light of Hope title on the Switch. Confusing, but if you want to know how the name switch came to be, you can read all about it here.
Travel Mosaics 2: Roman Holiday, layered picross on Switch
Travel Mosaics series is a classic nonogram-picross puzzle with a special flair; solve the picoss type puzzles on various levels and in several colours. You’ll be rewarded with a nice Roman image.
I reviewed the first game a while ago, (read the review here). Now, the Walkers are going on a sightseeing tour to the most famous attractions Rome has to offer. As you complete themed puzzles, you can also learn fun facts about Rome and its history, collect souvenirs, upgrade boosters and answer trivia questions.
Moving Out! demo available on Switch
Do you like playing together with friends? On April 28th, the new couch co-up is to be released on the Switch (and PS4, Xbox and PC). In Moving Out, you’ll be relocating furnishings in increasingly bizarre locations in a fast-paced furniture moving simulator. Of course you can also play alone, but I bet the game is going to be more fun when you team up with up to three friends locally.
There’s a demo available now on all consoles including the Switch. Paige wrote down her impressions of the demo (on Steam) in this article.
Demo for Trials of Mana in the eShop
There’s another demo in the Nintendo eShop: for the upcoming action-RPG Trials of Mana. Square Enix lets players explore the game’s vast fantasy world, selecting their party of three from six unique characters and setting forth on an exciting journey to battle against the forces of evil. Players will be able to try each character by experiencing the beginning of each hero’s story and following their adventures. Players will also be able to continue their progress made within the demo through to the full game.
For fans unsure of which character to choose first in Trials of Mana: a personality quiz is now available to see which hero suits you best. With a strict time-limit on each question, users will have to react with their instincts to discover which hero’s personality matches to their own. Square Enix Members who complete the quiz will also receive special character avatar portraits, so each user can show their hero in style. You can find the Trials of Mana Personality Quiz here.
The newest trailer is here.
Eldest Souls coming this Summer
RPG adventure Eldest Souls looks good, and it’s coming to the Switch and on Steam this Summer. Here’s the description of the game:
“In the beginning, there were Gods. Long imprisoned and forgotten in the Temples of the Citadel, they have syphoned the life essence from the world in their final act of vengeance. A lone Knight embarks upon a quest to slay the Gods and restore the balance. One warrior. One sword. Against them all.”
Woven to get your kids through the quarantine time
Woven is available on consoles, but on Steam as well. And it’s now on offer on Steam with a 50% discount. Cute and colourful puzzler Woven is very popular amongst parents with children, wanting a game to play together. And what better way to enjoy the enforced time at home together?
Alterego Games told us about the Steam sales saying this: “Working from home, that takes some getting used to. Suddenly you’re at home, with kids or your significant other (if applicable). Socialization acutely changed; the office, social circles and also families – all changed. We see people have more time to spend with eachother, opening up time for gaming parents. As a game developer, we’d like to do our best and contribute to society as we can: by providing those stuck at home with relaxation and a little bit of escapism.”
I quite agree, and it is indeed a great game to play together. Our review for the Switch version is here.
Wingspan: strategy card game
We featured Wingspan in our wrap up for the Nintendo Indie Showcases; it was shown very briefly, sort of as an afterthought, but this game might just be a very special one. Become a bird enthusiast, a researcher, bird watcher, ornithologist, and collector! You can play the game alone or with up to 5 players.
Discover new bird species and attract them by offering their favorite food. But keep in mind their natural habitat – animals won’t settle in conditions they aren’t adapted to. Have them lay eggs so you’ll be able to play new birds and gain more points. Roll the dice to gather food and draw cards to expand your reserve. Remember – each of the 170 unique birds has powers that echo real life: your hawks will hunt, your pelicans will fish, and your geese will form a flock.
Here’s a trailer to show off all the goodness:
Oh my goodness gracious! I didn’t know my FAVOURITE Harvest Moon game (Friends of Mineral Town GBA) was getting remade! That’s so amazing! I can’t wait!
And it will be the first real HM/ SoS game on the Switch!
