Paula and me are quite a pair: we love statistics, and for those of you who love ‘m too: I’m gonna share some Facts & Figures with you. So what happened at LadiesGamers.com in 2020?
Traffic at the site
In 2020, we published 730 articles. A lot more then in 2019, when 562 articles saw the light of day. Reviews, guides, articles listing the best off, gaming news and editorials. They were all there.
The article that did best in views is one that came to life in 2020: “Tips to play Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town” was a real zinger, boosting our views to great heights!
But who read our articles? Like our writers, our audience is scattered all over the world. In total we had views from 195 countries. But the majority of them (67% of all views) are in the United States as you can see in the chart below. The chart lists the most important countries only.

Rating the reviews
We reviewed a whopping 422 games this year (in 2019 we reviewed 186 games!). James was our most active reviewer, doing 132 of them with Paula in second place writing 90 reviews.
As we always do, we scored them in our rating system. Below, you can see how we rated them, with 9 of them being previews of demo’s and they don’t get a rating. I’m rather surprised at how many games got a Two Thumbs Up! 64 of them, given by the entire team.

Best viewed reviews
You’d think that maybe games that get high ratings have a lot of views, but that’s not the case. In fact, we have found that reviews where our opinion differs from the mainstream generally do well. Of course, that’s never a reason to go for a certain rating: it always mirrors our feelings while playing the game.
I’ve found too that reviews for the kind of games that LadiesGamers is well known for (the laid back simulation kind) do very well. Like the review for Calico, that’s such a fast riser (only been published two week ago!) and it’s already almost the best viewed review. Fitting to our mission then! Here’s the top 15 of the best viewed reviews:

Guides, guides and more guides
Aside from reviews, we have found that guides work very well on LadiesGamers.com. As I wrote last year, it truly is a work of love, takes more time to write than a review, but it’s also very satisfying. In my opinion you can’t write a guide if you don’t really love the game you are covering. Our readers love them too, so that’s very rewarding for us. Here’s our top 15.

The Best of the Best!
Aside from reviews and guides, we release Best Of… articles: lists of best games for a certain genre, collections of games that got high ratings. They do well over the years which is why we decided a couple of months ago to add some for specific genres.
These kind of articles generally need more time to really rack up the views. The same articles as last year still take the lead, one that has moved up the list is the article “Which Switch Fitness Game Should You Buy?”, published in January this year. I guess Paige had the foresight that we would need to get rid of our extra Corona weight!Â
