Soundtracks we Love

Evriun published a new article in The Soundtracks we Love series, this time for the game Eternal Darkness. Even the description in the article of this GameCube game chills my blood! And the soundtrack only adds to that feeling. But that’s Halloween for you!

If you want to read about the soundtracks Evriun covered in the past weeks, here is the collection.

List of laid-back games to look forward to

On a regular basis I make a list of games coming to handheld devices that might be of interest if you like the laid-back style of gaming. Many of them are simulation or farming games or a combination of that with RPG. And somehow many of them aren’t the big AAA titles, but kickstarter initiatives.

The list for 2019 is up, with Etrian Odyssey Nexus and Yo-Kai Watch 3, both on the 3DS. The rest are on the Switch: Mineko’s Night Market, the Bee Simulator, Summer in Mara, Little Friends: Dogs & Cats, GardenPaws, Re: Legend and Witchbrook (formerly known as Spellbound, from Chucklefish!)

Pick ‘n’ Mix games

Jonah published his sixth edition of Pick ‘n’ Mix Games, and from now on has roped other writers in to make this weekly feature a team effort. Pick ‘n’ Mix strives to give you some tips about video games which are both fun and designed to be played in short bursts. Plus, they are little gems on a budget for the various handheld devices. Here is the sixth bag of sweets!

This week there’s rough and tumble platformer Bleed 2 on the Switch. From the golden era of LucasArts Adventure games: point and click adventure Day of the Tentacle on iOS/Vita. from the golden era of LucasArts adventure games. There’s Pinball FX 3 on Switch can be downloaded for free. And lastly there’s Mini Metro on mobile and the Switch if you like a good management game. Lots of good games, and all of them nicely priced! All games under $15, some even way under!
